Clean drinking water, medical services, libraries, youth programs etc are funded by American drug dollars. One day they started receiving boxes of chicken & they thought they won the lottery. Over time they ate so much chicken they were sick of chicken. They discovered that the cartels were shipping cocaine North in the cavities of numerous chickens. At the border the cocaine was removed, the chicken was given to the army & the cocaine passed to the U.S. by a different method.
The reason why is because Mexico has no natural resource (oil, etc) that the US would be monetarily motivated enough to label Cartels as terrorists and incentivize the use of our military. Also, Mexican Cartels have a relationship with China and the US doesn’t want to make an enemy out of any country that touches our border. It’s business.
