  • In this video I'm going to talk about how to compress file to smaller size 7zip, I also put a 7z against the built in zip Windows compressor, let's say Windows compressor didn't do that well 😂, remember it's in A to Z video, so I start from where to get 7z, how to install, 7zip vs zip, settings for high compression.
This video goes beyond its predecessor
    • How To Unzip Files On ...
if in the previous video we focused on how to zip a file, how to unzip a file, and how do open a zipped file. this video goes well beyond that, and introduce you to a free alternative to the built in Windows 10 zip compressor, that is a dedicated file compression program which is vastly superior.
Simple demonstration of how the dedicated 7z program is superior to zip files is the fact that you can take a zip file or multiple zip files as I show in the video and compress them even further

Quick note: all of the GB you talked about... they should be MB, not GB. Never the less nice video demonstrating how bad windows are at getting beaten by open source projects!

    HERE'S A SUGGESTION....A PLEA....FOR ALL YOU-TUBE TUTORIAL CREATORS.
Your tutorials are much appreciated, HOWEVER, when a video is part of a series, why is it that you guys so rarely include a number in the title of each video so those of us who need to (or want to) see all, can watch them in a chronological order that makes the most sense? Very few people do that, and it blows my mind!! At the VERY LEAST, give them the same title, or a SUBTITLE that is the same, or SOMETHING to indicate that THIS VID and THAT VID and THE OTHER ONE are all part of the SAME SERIES. Otherwise, how do you even expect your targeted audience to find them all, much less watch them in order? I can't tell you the number of times I thought, here it is, the info I've been looking for, complete and in a series......only to give up searching for them (having no clue how MANY I'm even looking for), and move on, all because there was no logical way to find them. I'm not about to start opening videos, hoping to stumble upon them....however many there may be, in whatever order. There are typically DOZENS in a creator's video library.
Believe me when I say this, you are losing more people than me by neglecting that tiny, but hugely important detail! I don't understand how those who are smart enough to have the info in their head, are able to put it in a tutorial, in logical order, edit it, and get it on RUclips, but never think of doing that. It B-L-O-W-S - AND - it BLOWS me away..............
I apologize for my rant, but it's been cooking for a LONG time, and when I heard you say there was a vid before this one, which I know I need (and want) to watch, I thought, "OMG, here we go again........."
What I saw of your library appears to be FULL of wonderful info I need, but I didn't see anything to tell me if there are series or how many vids in a series so I know how much time I'll need or give me a hint that the info is likely quite comprehensive.......... Been here, done this SO many times, I'm discouraged before I even start looking and I've put myself short of time to get this thing down and done. I'll bookmark you, though, and likely be back, particularly liked the title of backing up vid. That's a BIGGY, HUGE! Just had my home HD take a dump a month ago....no recent back up, lot of stuff lost. I need a logical, not overly complicated back-up routine DESPERATELY! I'm hoping I've hit pay dirt....hoping, hoping, hoping, hopping, hopping, hopping off.........
Til I come back, then, thank you, Sir....really!

But *how* do you change the settings to compress more? I swear one day a YTuber is going to answer the question I want answered. :-)

Great video for a complete beginner, but I am not sure if complete beginners would be looking at 7.zip. Anybody looking for 7zip, probably is more advanced.
Nobody goes into details of all the other stuff, eg Whats the best Dictionary size / solid block size etc, for different files types or situations.
I have 100GB of video in very small snippets. How do the settings effect zip size and time to zip?

STOP! - this is a crime! I've created an in-place case converter that works in 100s of programs, link here ---> anycaseapp.com/yt2
(Yes, I'm a software developer and no one knows I developed AnyCase App, one of the most popular Case Converters out there)
