How to Highly Compress File Size using WinRAR

- In this video, I will show you how to compress file size.
In order to understand how to highly compress a file you must follow the steps shown in this video.
To compress large files to small size, we are going to using Compression software.
WinRAR is the best software for file compression. This tutorial will demonstrate how to compress a file with WinRAR. (Link Given Below)

Compressed folder is smaller in size, hence easier to upload and takes less time for data transfer. This also comes handy when you have to send files through email attachments, as there are size limitations.

This is really useful, my men of war assault squad 2 mods were taking away a lot of space and I had to find a way to reduce those and this video solved it for me.

not sure if you can afford it or if i'm taking this wrong but i was in a similar situation with the sims mods, and think if your scenerio was anything like mine, this might save you in the future- i was forced to keep the mods in my c drive since that games mods ran off a documents c drive folder specifically, and even if i wanted them in my external drive, it would make game load speeds lower since i was using an hdd drive and was unfamiliar with ssd drives (which are tremendously faster and meant for heavy usage) so once i discovered ssd drives, i purchased the best one i could find at a price i could afford (which was a 150$ 2tb samsung t7) and have since stored all my games on there instead of my 237gb internal c drive or my 2tb hdd drive. and i fixed the mod problem by simply creating a junction link to the folder my sims mods would be located and moving the actual files to the external drive by using linkshell extension, that extension has basically made moving, cloning, transferring and linking files so much easier and i highly recommend you look into it if you haven't already, it's like the best thing i have ever learned about and downloaded in my entirety as a human being and i'm so serious in saying that it's just life saving

One remark: set Dictionary size as big as you can set in your system.
1024 Mb needs 6.3 Gb of RAM for compression and around 1 Gb for decompression.

My rar file ended up having a bigger size than the original file itself.
The original file was 9.15 GB, the "compressed" one was 9.17 GB..
@@AltroG depends on what your are compressing - maybe you tried to compress already compressed file type
@@igorthelight I recorded a video straight out of OBS at a mp4 format. I'm not sure if OBS somehow generates a compressed file..
@@AltroG MP4 is a compressed video container - it will be very hard to compress it more.
But you may recode it with smaller resolution or bitrate - that WILL reduce it's size (and quality)

Would the dictionary size option be the same if you're trying to compress a folder that is 127gb large? Or would I have to change the dictionary size to match it?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but if my sd card is formatted to fat32 would I use WinRAR x64 (64 bit) 6.11 or would I use WinRAR x86 (31 bit) 6.11?

im trying to make a 10 exabyte zip bomb it stopped working at about 1 exabyte. 1 exabyte compressed is 15MB.
In your comments i have seen ki you are saying people to compress videos via Handbrake tool, but i wanted to compress a 17gb folder having a course, thus many videos are there in the folder, i dont wanna compress one by one, should i use above method, if yes, should i make any tweaks in settings??
actually to full compress videos its recommended to use use video compression software like HandBrake. Problem with compressing such folders is that the videos are downloaded from internet and are already compressed, so you won't see any significant difference in size.
So, if you want to fully optimize then go for handbrake, otherwise you can try this . it will reduce the size of folder if the videos inside are already not compressed. Regards.
my files size is 22gb , but after compression if I extract those files would it be still 22gb after extraction? would it retain the same quality?

How about with .exe file? such as driverpack have a large size, can i use this method without losing?

What is the function of solid archive and lock archive?
Locking important archives can help prevent accidental changes to your archives.
What could happen if we don't tick lock archieve box?
because locked archive cannot be modified by winrar.

Is it same for compress large 50 GB file. I wonder atleast compress 50% atleast. .. but it goes like 97% so it's wasting of time it will not not reduce to 50% ..

You can't compress a MP4 file, only files with code like games, software, and text. You cannot compress a video or photo file because it's already compress based on what the file extension format you are using. MP4 is already compress the video for you
