Finally an elaborate recipe. I like that you don't skip the searing of the meat, etc. The majority of the recipes on the net are quick-fixes but that wasn't what I was looking for. The taste of seared meat is better than cooked meat, as well the taste of sauteed vegetables are incomparably better than cooked veggies - by most people and so l am impressed with your method, thanks for sharing it.
I enjoy this soup every time. My wife’s grandma taught me how to make it. She's Ukrainian, and now I'm responsible for teaching her great-grandchildren, my son, and daughter.
Wowwwwwwww looks so delicious 😋, I never eat it before. I really hope to eat that dish one day. Greetings from Los Angeles California USA, Adel, Egyptian American Art teacher 👨🏫
Thanks for this great presentation-lesson. I have never made borsch before, but I am off to the store for the ingredients after watching this. I don`t know why, but I thought it was a really long and hard recipe. It`s cool out today, a typical autumn day, and I want some hot, tasty soup. Nothing is better than homemade. And I`ll pick up a loaf of bread from a good bakery in my neighborhood here in Lviv.
Ukrainian cuisine is very interesting, I have Ukrainian friend and she baked very well, thanks for sharing your recipe my friend, see you in my humble home
This is an especially good recipe. What I do is that I would make borsht a few days after my father makes corned beef. Once all the meat and vegetables are eaten, I would use the leftover cabbage broth in place of cold water when boiling the pork and it comes out decent. There was also a moment when my usual Kroger's only had golden beets instead of the red. So I substituted and the gold beets turned the broth orange when mixed with the tomato paste, but it had a pleasant earthy taste to it. I kind of want to make it again, honestly.
Being half European this was my childhood food supply. Of course! I lost my mother’s “fancier more expensive” recipe while I was moving house and have no motivation whatsoever to go look for it right now so RUclips it is! Edit: Really nice 👍
Those are big cloves of garlic, you had to use all your strength to crush it 😜. First off, this video is so relaxing to watch, the music and the ASMR are perfect. The sound from the beet/carrot grating is very soothing. The sizzling of the pork in the dutch oven = amazing! The potatoes and cabbage are very uniformed in size. This is probably the best looking recipe for Borscht stew I've seen on YT so far. I appreciate how clean and aesthetically pleasing your cooking is. Presentation is fantastic with all those parsley (not the parsley bouquet from the soup 😝), gives a nice contrast to the red. Great video, I love it! 👍LIKE #19
I know right? I've never struggled this much trying to crush garlic 😄. Thanks for a lovely comment, I'm going to head over to your channel now, since I noticed you posted a video recently 😉
Tasty! I make it a bit different, I add lots of dill, some vinegar and lemon juice, and kidney beans and black beans for some oomf, my babas didn't use the beans though. Everyone has such neat ways of doing it, I've never used parsley, but everything else is pretty much the same.
How gorgeous!! It looks so delicious, and I wish I had a bowl right now! Perfect for a cold day, warm you right up. I've seen this made with fish before, as well. Great job, once again!
That's new to me with fish, I bet it would change the flavor quite a bit. Traditionally it's made with pork but often made with chicken or without any meat at all 😊
Made this tonight with a minor change or two. Used red potatoes and didn't have a bay leaf so I used fresh Tarragon and green onion. Tried to make a small batch since I wasn't sure if I'd like it, but ended up with plenty of leftovers, just not enough broth. Also substituted beef short ribs for the pork. My wife and I liked it, thanks for posting the recipe.
I think love your Ukranian kitchen already! I have never had a chance to know about ukranian food preparations before.. its amazing to see how you cook. loved the carrort potato and onion broth.. and the the bay leaf :) we use it all the time in indian cooking ! I think I will put chicken instead of beef as I don't eat much beef, I hope it should be ok (though it wont be the same I know ) .. thanks a lot .. I am glad to be your subscriber ! :) love from Belgium!
Wow what a soothing music and lovely dish So so so wonderfully presented Loved the final plating with the red and green and white combi Loved the dip of bread at the end😊😊
Beautiful. But when it comes to borscht, I must have dill! I guess I will try this recipe but replace the parsley toward the end with dill. Maybe I'll keep the parsley for the boiling the broth part though.
Oh my...such a colourful and mouthwatering composition😍 I also love your background music, so relaxing..😇 Also the sound while you’re chopping those ingredients😊 Thankyou for sharing my friend!🙏 Happy new year!💫 Cheers!🥂 Like#45💜

@@pappa_paulie this is my fourth video and she is the first one to not use lemon juice (or vinegar ) and sugar I’m happy to see it’s not an ingredient requirement as I think my mother would not like it that way ❤

It's very popular all over Eastern Europe, isn't it 😊
It's popular in my country too, but it still can't compete with cold borscht.

Guys you can make it with beef as well. It's also very delicious. In Armenia it's a common dish. Yummy🤗
