      It gives more nuance; most of the time, it's lots of little things adding up to something terrible. And also most of the time, none of the people involved meant for it to end terribly.

      It’s because the popular stuff *always* get more hate than they deserve. It’s not exclusive to this show. It happened with Dragon Ball, Naruto, Fairy Tail, and so many others. Basically, if something is popular, expect there to be an undeserving level of hate. It’s like a universal rule, with very rare exceptions. It’s how trolling works.

      @@cjjackson2423 That was a mistake on the authors part. There were moments characters should have died and the Mangaka just didn't. I think they like the characters too much. By this point we needed to have seen a dozen more deaths of hero's and some civilians. Who it is doesn't matter, just that someone dies. All Might on the scene was the one time no one should die. He should have been able to save everyone while he had his powers. However the rest of the time people should die.

    Knowing Aoyama was quirkless, paints all his showboating, throughout the series, in more tragic light. He's basically somebody that was born with a disability, that got corrective surgery later on. He shows off because he couldn't before, like a lame person, running and leaping all over the place, when they finally gain the ability to walk. He also felt like a social outcast, so when he showed off it was like he was shouting "Look at me, everyone! I'm the same as you!".
    Aoyama was forced into a position, no kid should ever be in; all because his parents wanted him to feel like a normal person. And you could clearly see how much anguish he was feeling, over the actions he was forced to take. He's clearly sorry, and now has the chance to do the right thing. So yes, I forgive Aoyama.

      People complain about the right things. Of course there's people who will overhate, but is a fact that a lot of things in the manga could be more fleshed out, actually SHOULD be more fleshed out.
      Characters like Bakugo, Uraraka, Toga and even Shigaraki would not be as divisive if Hori was a more competent writer, he failed to get his point across and that's why people see Baguko as someone who doesn't deserve his redemption, Uraraka as a boring character who doesn't deserve all the spotlight she gets, and Shigaraki and Toga as two cry babies and hipocrites. And is actually funny because Endeavor has one complex story arc that could go wrong very easily, but with him Hiro never missed, and that's why he is not divisive. And that's only one of the problems the story has.

Her mystical appearance and her severe rebuke combined with her teary-eyed broken heart makes it sufficient enough to be a unforgettable and audience-affecting. One other thing about Aoyama’s parents. They both speak with a French accent so chances are they are both from France. They may not have known about the evils of All for One as that’s not part of their country. They just heard that someone in Japan can give quirks to those who are quirkless. Like a parent traveling the country for the chance of a life saving surgery, just to find out it was a scam. It’s sad really.

    I think people are really underestimating the situation with Aoyama's family and All For One. He has proven to do WHATEVER he needs to in order for his plans to succeed. I won't say anything about why they couldn't have been double agents for UA because that will be explained, but what makes anyone think that he would stop at killing Aoyama's parents? What makes anyone think that Aoyama himself hasn't heard threats from AFO's own mouth? They were ALL in danger. Does it suck that his parents have to use him to keep them all safe? Yes, and they recognize that and even put the blame on themselves, but to say that are bad people or whatever is really minimizing the situation they were in. I always think about how easy it is to say you would do something different from an outside perspective, but from a realistic standpoint, that type of fear can really consume you to doing whatever AFO wants.
    And no hate to the reaction or anything, I always enjoy them (even with the misremembered things lol) but this is just a topic that I think people see as black or white when it is so, so very gray.

    The thing about Aoyama’s parents having him spy for All for One, is that it wasn’t just their lives at stake. It was *his* life too. If his parents died, All for One would kill the son too. He should have been encouraged to work on his body so that by now he should be launching his balls like a MLB pitcher. With speed, power, and pinpoint accuracy.
      Also if you haven't noticed those balls are the some of the toughest things in world. So far nothing has been able to destroy them or separate from them once they're stuck. Even Giganto Machia. When they were stuck to his foot the only way he was able to get out was to rip the ground out below the balls. The balls stayed stuck to both his foot and to the ground underneath. If he was stuck to a stronger surface he wouldn't have been able to get out.

    When Suraj was talking at the beginning about the parallels between the brothers and Shigaraki/Deku and the sharing of being quirk-less at first it made me think of that scene in Captain America the First avenger where Stanley Tucci's Erskine sits down with Chris Evans Steve Rogers and they have a heart to heart over the importance of being a good man and Steve asking why he was chosen, I imagine Deku felt the same with that great power Steve and Deku share a lot of similarities but mainly just the altruism of both being their strongest traits. (I know both obviously hero stories but that just resonated with me that scene specifically)

    What did Marketa see in the intro that she thinks is some big spoiler that they have to avoid now? 5:15 Seemed like she was noticing it during the sequence where Deku is running through the burning city, passing by all his classmates. Was she noticing the almost peaceful look on Bakugo's face before that sequence, along with what he's standing on, then noticing that Bakugo isn't there during Deku's run, and assuming it's foreshadowing a death, or something? Because He's there in that sequence, at the end after Ochaco. it's just very brief. I can see how someone could interpret that as death foreshadowing, but I don't think that's what it is at all. I think avoiding the intro is an overreaction.

    To clear it up a bit; he was born quirkless, and his parents, who love him very much, feared for him, feared that he would be treated like the outcast of the group, that he wouldnt be able to go forward and get to his dreams because he didnt have powers, so they went to the person who was capable of giving people quirks; AFO. What they did not realize at the time, however, is that when he did that, he told them that they owe him, and expected their cooperation any time he called them up.
    So of course, when it was time for him to take the exam to get into UA, AFO made sure to let him know, "Hey, you work for me, tell me whats going on at UA, or your parents are gonna pay for it."
    Yuga was in a no win situation from the jump, no matter how you slice it. Cant help but feel bad for this family.

  • @SGC51
    @SGC51 8 месяцев назад +1

    In my opinion, I don't think Aoyama's parents put him up to it. I don't think they forced him to do stuff for them now that they realized AFO was evil.
    AFO IS evil and probably asked to use their son as a resource. I don't think hee gave them a choice. All Might was going to be a teacher in UA and AFO needed someone to be in UA

    Something I heard once years ago: If I make an 'and the French surrender' joke, everyone laughs, even though the French have not surrendered in every war they've been in. In fact, it was really just the one....but it was KIND of an important one so they have to own it.

  • @Jjop017
    @Jjop017 8 месяцев назад +1

    Aoyama’s parents definitely screwed up. Pressuring their son is beyond screwed up. They deserve more blame than their son. At the same time the situation is more nuanced than the parents are just 100% bad people who are using their son. All for One kept a lot of his existence secret for most of his time in power. Remember back in season 2 Midioriya didn’t even know who All for One was, despite being a mega fan who knows everything about All Might until All Might told him who All for One is.
    All for One put effort into putting up a mask of being a benevolent being who helps people. That is how he always gets people. They see him as a benevolent person who wants to help them who will ask for a favor in return. Then later they found out the favor is working for him under threat of death for them and their loved ones. By then they are too scared to come forward. As far as they know AFO has killed everyone who has come forward. He specifically showed these people what would happen if they betrayed him. I don’t want to excuse everything the family did, but I also do think they did this for love of their son and that the threat was the whole family will be killed, not just the parents specifically. It makes no sense why AFO would leave Aoyama out of this and just kill the parents. Now the parents definitely emotionally manipulated him by saying Aoyama was their only hope to escape death, but I do very much believe AFO told them he would kill their entire family if they betrayed him.
    The parents owning up to everything when they were caught and taking the full blame while trying to minimize their son’s actions shows they do care and love for him. I don’t think it is fair to say they only cared for themselves.
    Again, not excusing it, but I don’t think we should downplay the fear factor either.

    Blaming the parents is just naive and dumb, they only wanted what was best for their son and considering how deku was treated we all know it was horrible being quirkless. They didn't know who AFO was because literally no one did they just thought he was someone who could help their son and by the time they found out it was too late because betraying him would have ended with their whole family dying. Your bright idea was to just die and what leave him alone because that worked out well for shigaraki🤦🏾‍♂️just fuck him up mentally some more. Plus if you think he would have just stopped at them you insane he more then likely also threatened them with their sons death

    Aoyama’s parents are snobs, and definitely manipulated him into following AFO instead of just talking with him or trying to help alleviate the burden by making his priorities about self preservation and/or being crafty and witty. But they also have the equivalent of a terrorist manipulating them. And they were used to the easy rich life. Money fixed shit, but for the first time ever it ruined everything. I agree that the real issue they are truly guilty of (bc let’s face it, AFO absolutely would’ve killed aoyama first and then his parents as punishment for daring to go against him) is using emotional manipulation tactics to put their son through hell to save their skins. It’s one of the few weapons the raised wealthy/spoiled have at their disposal.

      I went back and watched the intro after watching this video, trying to pinpoint what part of the intro she was watching when she had that reaction. I wasn't concerned about spoilers because I'm a bit past this season in the manga. From what I can tell, the only thing that could have been a potential spoiler past when they commented about Bakugou's outfit was the overall background. Specifically, the state of the buildings and the streets when Deku is swinging through and tagging in his friends.
