Fimbriae are not the same as pili. Fimbriae attach to substrates or other bacterial cells to form colonies. Though pili can do the same thing, they facilitate bacterial conjugation and fimbriae do not. Pili are shorter than fimbriae and are much less abundant. Pili are found in gram negative bacteria while fimbriae are found in gram positive and gram negative bacteria. There are other differences between them..

I believe that Eukarya, Archaea and Bacteria are a set of Domain and not Kingdoms. I'm taking the class, but I believe that's it.

+Chad Pitman Depends if you are using the Whittaker's 5 kingdom classification (Monera, Protista, Fungi, Plantae, Animalia) or Carl Woese's Domains (Archaea, Eubacteria, Eukarya)
      :-D

@@vidushishuklatiwari Today's scientists no longer use the Whittaker classification because the three-domain system ( Archaea, Eukarya, Bacteria) is based on DNA analysis and modern science which is more reliable because it accurately reflects the evolutionary history and relationship amongst organisms. In addition, Monera is no longer used because prokaryotes are spread amongst two different domains Archaea and Bacteria because Archaea are not bacteria and they have very little in common.

      Hey i have a question
You have purchased an expensive tray of salmon sushi from a local supermarket. As you get ready to eat the sushi, you notice that the rice underneath the salmon pieces looks pinkish. You suspect that the fish has been dyed and is not actually salmon. Elaborate on an experimental strategy that will allow you to verify your suspicions and discuss the reasons behind such substitution practices.
