- FSOL's E7 trilogy has come to its conclusion at long last, so it's finally time to talk about how well this last volume sticks the landing (as well as look back on the trilogy as a whole).

thank you for your amazing channel covering all the things synths
Favourite tracks on this record So far: A DESOLATE STRETCH OF NIGHTROAD, ABSENCE OF SOLUTION and KWAAHU. It’s a brilliant Environment Album, really enjoying listening to it on Vinyl. Fits in perfectly in the Environment series as a whole (not just E7) a good example being ‘WHERE ALL IS ENDING’. I’m glad they stayed with this sound reminiscent to their album ‘Archived Environmental Views’ with nods to their previous albums.
Great review. Have you ever tried Beaumont Hannant? Overlooked British artist from the 90s who disappeared from the scene after 96. His Tastes and Textures Vol 2 and Texturology (both UK and US versions) are top notch. Would love to hear your thoughts. I found him via a terrific compilation from 93, The Positiva Ambient Collection (compilations were our internet in the 90s - they would introduce us to a load of unheard of artists), and sought out everything he released.
I've been listening to this on repeat the last few days. I think its great. That first track gives me A Certain Ratio vibes.
Can you do an in depth review of Dead Cities? By far my favorite FSOL album. Please and thank you. Also, it better be a positive review. :)

Excellent. Was on the fence with this one. Will get it now. Cheers Mr. Wonky.
Just listened through it and it's very reminiscent of ISDN.
Okay why did FSOL use the same font and cover art as their ISDN album? I almost thought this was going to be a review for THAT one (ISDN is my favorite FSOL album too; well this review crashed my expectations, UGH 😩 ).
true
too much lsd
@@walmart_ar1567 haha I guess. I'm actually friends with Gaz Cobain on Facebook and I chat with him quite a bit. He always seems so happy and friendly and I figure LSD has to be behind it. Nice guy though anyway to have a conversation with.
they even recycle their covers ^^'
I love them
But your correct
Environment series
Is killer
Gaz mentioned you
That’s how I found you
The increased use of organic sounds and ambient moments over the previous two make this my favourite of the trilogy - the shift towards more overt IDM sounds on the first two volumes never quite sat right with me. You're right, though, it's a very subtle album, it thrives on its textures and atmospheres more than its memorable melodies or notable sample choices. Kind of a halfway point between ISDN and Archived : Environmental : Views.
Is it just me or this is hard to find? Ive been checking fsoldigital regularly for years. Cant find where to legitimately buy the record. I absolutely loved 6 and 6.5.
For the record, ISDN is my favorite album.
They're most active on Bandcamp these days, I have the page to buy the album linked in the description
You gonna be reviewing the techdog album series?
