The Picts are rather mysterious, they were not the Scots they were Gaelic celts from Ireland who invaded the west of Scotland at the same time that the Anglo Saxons were invading what us now England. The Picts may have been just northern British celts related to those in Romanised Britain, but they may also have been the remnants of earlier pre-celtic people. The celts were not the indigenous people, just an earlier wave of invaders in prehistory. Perhaps a thousand or more years earlier. Scotland in the mid first millennium was divided between four groups, the Scots in the Highlands and Islands, the Picts in the North East, Bythonic celts in the south west and the South East, Angles, it later was part of Northumbria.
If Britain wasn't an island then it would have been just like France or Spain or the Netherlands, & history would have been totally different. The competition with these countries , & the fact of it being an island, with rivers & resources etc arranged as it is, led to the development of ships in a particular way, & made a particular mindset & a series of events happened because of this, & it's sea influenced temperate climate.
Easy, we'd be (and Ireland) speaking French, as well as the whole of America, most of Africa, the Indian Subcontinent and S.E.Asia. (Spain or Prussia would have nothing to say) And Napolean probably would have made it to Moscow...but (like the movie "Lola"", too many ifs and buts). (We'd have no decent music, but a decent national football team).
The Picts were the native inhabitants of Scotland, while the Scots (Scoti) were a tribe from Ireland that crossed into Scotland during the 4th and 5th centuries. Over time, the two groups gradually mixed, forming an early version of the Scottish people, largely without the Norse and Anglo-Saxon influences that would shape modern Scots. This process was often violent, marked by regular conflict between the Picts and the Scots. By the 11th century, these two distinct identities had largely disappeared, and Gaelic had become the primary language of Scotland, with Pictish having gone extinct.
Of course, there isn't a continent in the Pacific, but you might be amused to read up on the hypothetical, later disproved continent of Lemuria, and the real but (mostly) long-sunken continent of Zealandia.
Connor. Instead of basing your knowledge on RUclips videos where anybody says anything without sources, you really should read books and researches to make your historical knowledge. Watching RUclips videos isn’t right, they are very biased and full of errors, lack research and sources, and overall aren’t serious that’s just entertainment.
It's quite obvious, Britain, France, Denmark The Netherlands just wouldn;t exist. Most of these countries rely on geography for their existance. All the ensuing nation forming was heavily dictated by that. All I can say is, thank God for the English Channel. Without which, world history wold have been entirely different. BTW All my love to m yFrench, Dutch And Nordic brothers💕💕💕💕💕💕

If Great Britain wasn't an island then the entire world today would be wildly different and its impossible to conceive just how much so.
Evening connor 😊

Plenty of Anglo Saxon/Norse influence in major parts of what is now Scotland!

Alternative history is an alternative to history. You can't change the past, it doesn’t make sense.
