The Manhattan Project completed 3 bombs before the war ended. One was tested at the Trinity site, the other two were used on Japan. Dont forget,Germany said to the Italians WW2 would start around 1942,which is probably the reason italy was so garbage during WW2.If they were prepared they could have done a major difference
The leadership of Italy was just not gonna cut it, whether or not they had time to build up. Their best general (subjectively) Giovanni Messe was even kept in a political position in Albania because of his *royalist background.* Even after he was kept in charge of the Italian Expeditionary Force in Russia, which is even further from Italy than Albania. Keep in mind that one of their largest problems was the constant bombing of Northern Italy's cities (Milan, Venice, Turin, Florence, their largest) was culling their capabilities overall.
09:45-10:08 Drew, you seem to forget Russia's defeat in WWI. The Germans thought that Russia was in the same Situation as they were in WWI, thus making it super easy to beat Russia. Wich of course was not true.
on top of the loss against finland in addition to the anti judeo bolchevic(that era's cultural marxism) conspiracy yeah, the germans really underestimated russia
yea it goes under the radar the fact that Germany won the war on the eastern front, unlike the western front. So when they blitzed France and the rest of Europe in ww2 you could forgive them in thinking they could do it again in defeating the Russians..

16:00 you forget about the mud season if you do that your military will be bugged down by mud instead of snow. Actually a winter invasion is much better when the ground is frozen and you can use your mechanized units more easily.
Only if your vehicles are cold resistant. The german mistake was thinking ",we'll have Russia completely on its knees long before winter" and only gave their soldiers summer uniforms and not making enough winter uniforms. The Germans were quite capable of fighting in cold environments, as shown by their divisions that were stationed in Finland and fought the Finns and the Soviets after the Finns changed sides
Brother what? Invade late winter?? If you did that, then once everything starts to thaw you would not be able to move ahead a single centimetre, since literally all of Russia turns into mud that season
12:12 a war with the Soviet Union was not something one could stop, the main reason the Germans went after th was for ideological reasons, Hitlers goal from the start had always been to destroy the USSR, not Britain. In fact the reason they wanted peace with Britain as so they could focus all of their energy on an attack of to the USSR. Germany not attacking the USSR means Nazism at its core is completely different and probably never rises to power in the first place, instead being replaced by a different lucky facist group

My question for this video would be, from where would the US nuke Germany, the UK is gone, would they build a aircraft carier so big it could let a B-29 take air? Or would they do something completly else? And btw, Germany had there own atomic program, well it was more directed towords a reactor, but you never know...

yeah because of hitler's concepts of lebensraum. germany had to be 100% self sufficient, as well as his hatred of communists makes me think he would have attacked no matter what. it might have been postponed a bit though because fuel shortages wouldn't have been as dyer. a little more prep time to get it right with less desperation and shortages.
How would the US Finish the madhatten project if we never Took the German Scientists?? Thats one big problem no one is talking about people forget the US captured Many German Scientists and had help making the atomic bomb and people also forget Germany was trying to figure out how to make a nuclear bomb them selfs during the war???
Actually Drew the Germans probably went at the most optimal time in Russia. After Winter you get something called Rasputitsa which is when all the ground ice melts and the spring rains turn the world to mud. And tanks aren't making it very far in that.
i really doubt that the soviets would colapse in mounths. One of the biggest problems with barbarosa was the dificulties to supply the frontlines, and even if the germans had captured moscow, they would still had to deal with the soviets in the urals and maybe siberia.
The USSR joining the Axis would be extremely unlikely, it viewed both the Germans and the Japanese as military and specifically ideological threats. Keeping the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact in place may have prolonged the war for Germany potentially pushing the war into the late 40's, but assuming all other events played out the way they did historically minus the USSR involvement then, that means the US still gets involved and eventually overwhelms Germany. The only difference in this case would be the US, UK etc. would take far higher casualties, since all German forces would be allocated to fighting them instead.
Honestly the only way the fascist regime would survive, no I don’t think it will, but in the New order, Speer is liberal, so he may save Germany as he is for the people.
Of the germans spent a few years with the steel and oil of all of europe,, they could probably make a bigger navy than the British. So it may have happened eventually. I don't think 1945, I think closer to 1948 or 49.
Point of note here where Drew is wrong, Poland didn't win its independence from Russia/USSR during the Polish-Soviet War, it was already independent via the Treaty of Versailles, it would be factually correct to say Poland retained its independence, by pushing the Russians back out of Polish territory and sparing most of the rest of Europe from communism for a extra 20ish years.

I think this alternate timeline fails right at the beginning. Rescinding the order to halt squeezing into the Dunkirk pocket wouldn't magically make logistics teleport all the ammo, fuel, food, water, etc to the troops to refit and make an advance feasible within a day. It's quite possible that a poorly equipped attack could be stopped and even countered causing a disaster for the Germans.
Classic mistake, thinking attacking in the winter is a good idea because of the thaw in spring But it's the spring warmth that causes the most problems, the thaw causes the frozen ground to melt and become a giant mud field that becomes impossible to cross with an army and their supply lines So no, attacking in late winter would be even more disastrous
If Churchill wanted us there, we would be there. Peace deal or not. If the US decides we’re going to do something, that’s also where things end. Germany could take Europe, could’ve taken the UK. Could’ve gone into Russia, the US is defeating them. If you want to question that, question why Germany and Japan are now our allies.
That's not how nukes in the 40s work though. Without Britain, they wouldn't have any close airbase to launch the aircraft with the nukes. Even if they did, it seems like the German air defenses would be impossible to pass through without a grinding air war.
