  • This is truly a magical place. From sun up to sun down, every day is a new experience.
In this episode of Trail Mix'd, we’re southeast of Phoenix in the city of Superior at Boyce Thompson Arboretum, Arizona’s largest and oldest botanical garden.
"Something’s always in bloom," says Lynne Nemeth, Executive Director at Boyce Thompson Arboretum. "It doesn’t matter what season. The aloe’s are blooming right now, and they will continue to bloom for the next few weeks. There’s always something to see here."
While it may be hard to convey that the desert can be beautiful, the unique setting at Boyce, as Nemeth explains, is so stunning with picket-post mountain ridges and more than two miles of scenic pathways, visitors are quickly convinced.
Surrounded by more than 6,000 species of plants from around the globe, Nemeth says, "We love it when people come here from all over the world, all over the country, and say, 'We had no idea!'"
Travel with Ike to Australia, South Africa and Asia. But wait-he's not even leaving Arizona! Stop and smell the roses, and also enjoy some breathtaking hikes at Boyce Thompson Arboretum.
