I used to be a courier, and I got paid $100 to take a package of prescription drugs up to a nursing home in Sedona every Saturday morning. I would stop by my friends house to pick him up and we would get up there when the sun was just coming up, stop on the side of the road next to Oak Creek, and catch our limit of rainbow trout before dropping the package off. Then we would go home and have a fish fry with the neighbors. Good memories.
My cousin lives in Oro Valley, Arizona and she sent me this link to watch. I enjoyed it very much. Now, I understand why she loves living in Arizona. She used to live in my town growing up in the North East. After about 5 years of teaching in a school in our town, she and her husband moved to Arizona. It seems there is so much to see and do.
OMG THANK YOU ! I know it’s silly and childish but I sincerely appreciate you saying PRESCOTT the way that natives and locals do. I cannot explain how happy that made me. It’s crazy but thank you.
We started watching your program while making the big decision whether to move from NYS to Arizona...we learned a lot about our new State from you. We've been here going on two years..we love Arizona..thank you
Home Sweet ❤ Arizona! What an amazing place to live. So many options for year round fun and tourism. Greer was the last name of the guy who did my LDS baptism in Qatar!
Out of Africa in Camp Verde is a fun day trip. Zip lining over the animals, feeding tigers and following the feed trucks to the enclosures is an amazing experience.
Key highlights you missed in the towns you covered: - Sedona: Mesa Grill at the Airport - Bisbee: Stock Exchange Saloon & Grill (original massive stock market chalkboard on wall) - Jerome: Haunted Hamburger (great food and view) - Cottonwood: Merkin Vineyards (way up on hill with beautiful view) - Prescott: Whiskey Row Courthouse square - Verde Valley: Train ride, many vineyards in the area, as well as the popular Sedona Adventures "Water to Wine" Vineyards and Kayak ride
I have stayed at the North rim 4 times. I live in phoenix, and you have to pass an area of Flagstaff before noon to miss the thunderstorms that flood and often close route 89. With pee, leg stretching stops I find getting to page, 130 miles away from the north rim, takes 8 to 9 hours. I usually stop overnight in Page, az, and drive to North Rim the next morning. Keep in mind that for much of the drive from page to the north rim Ranger shed is 130 miles of pitch dark, winding road with no cell coverage that floods when it rains. It is a beautiful drive. I bring oxygen and a satellite communicator. There are bison in some areas. Don't approach!
You’re saying from phoenix to the north rim is 8 to 9 hours? Or from phoenix to page? Because phoenix to page is nowhere near 8 hours haha even with a few stops, PHX to the north rim in 8 hours is a stretch.
While we do live in Phoenix, some of these places outside of town haven’t really been on our radar, however this video definitely gave us some unique ideas for other outside of the box Arizona based activities for our channel.
I moved away from Arizona in the early 2000's to work on the east coast. Before I left I spent a lot of time in Sedona...at that time there was just 1stop light in the entire town. Oak creek canyon had a great little hotel where you could not get your phone to connect to the internet. At night you could see all the stars. When back when I retired to Tucson last year. My cool hotel was being torn down and there were multiple lights and turn around. People crammed together..."Paved Paridise and Put up a Parking Lot" sigh memories...sigh...
I was born and raised in AZ. I have been to the canyon at least 4 times, so breathtaking. The ski lift at Snowbowl in the fall is so beautiful, just bring warm clothes and blankets. Humphrey's Peak is over 11,000'. I love Greer, this has to be the most beautiful place in AZ, other than the Grand Canyon. I live about 12 miles south of Holbrook, so I'm quite familiar with the Petrified Forest/ Painted Desert. I have lived in many areas of AZ and there is so much more for me to see. Also the Grand Canyon train is so much fun, give it a try. TFS 👍
Be sure to mention the Biosphere II and Kitt Peak when highlighting Tucson attractions. I should have posted this on your "Things to do in Tucson". BTW...you do an excellent job overall! Thank You!
👋🏼 Small struggling Travel Channel here. I love your content, thanks for this great video! You inspire me to keep grinding my channel, maby one day I’ll grow as big as you 🥲
I don’t love Havasu but I have also gone in severe summers for years. One time it was 125 and your phone just dies outside on the lake. It’s 2.5 hours from Vegas and easy drive. June thru August is BRUTAL. The day time and night time is nasty.
I’m 29 seconds in and an Arizona native let me see if I can guess a few. 1.Jerome, 2.Prescott, 3.sedona, 4. Tombstone/bisbee 5. Flagstaff. Let’s see if I got any right.
Really nice guide, but check your spelling at the 8:09 mark. Also a fun fact of Tucson is it was also once the state capital. Oh, and UofA has a doctorate program in Astronomy related subjects because just 1 hr 12 min southwest is one of the world's leading observatories, Kitt Peak National Observatory, and yes, they give tours.
Slow down. I've been here 40 plus years and working most of the time haven't had the money or tome to know of these things or go see the things I do know about .I would love to see and hear more about these place e now I'm retired and have the time and money
Nice video. Were thinking about a couple trips as a result. You don’t say, but are you using Phoenix as your starting point? A couple of these places would be a stretch to do a round trip in a day. Would make a long day.
Due to over load on visitors and new movers over growth. Our Arizona state is not the same. Very few places to actually getaway Alone for a Quiet visit. Gotta plan on less popular dates n holidays. And travel in summer when most leave back to there 1st homes. Newbies can't handle the heat here so nice we get a break. We take advantage of amenities to Staycation with discounts in those months
Love the content my man but outside of Bisbee is known as “Her - Furd” note hare furd. If you ever want the historic perspective of Hereford, I have a ranch with great history. Come one down, I’ll show you Sierra Vista and Cochise county as only a local can know
I’ve lived in Arizona my entire life (76 yrs) and all of these places are wonderful. But I think it’s misleading to call most of these a day trip. Even leaving from Phoenix, which is fairly central, it can take hours to reach some of these destinations. To enjoy most of these an overnight stay would be advisable.
I lived in Tucson 1975 to 1977...there was a place to the south that grew peaches and you could pick them for yourself..would you know where that was and is it still there?
the arizona mountains are very similar to the eynalı and sehend mountains located in Tabriz, Iran.the rock shapes and colors of the Arizona mountains are the same as the rock shapes and colors of the EYNALI and sehend mountains.
I have a question I been wanting to ask you being from Arizona what do you think about yucca Arizona. Reason I’m asking I just brought some property out there was wondering what you think about it. Never seen you do a video on it
I don’t know much about Yucca Arizona. The area is extremely remote. It’s an interesting area but mostly uninhabitable. It’s very similar to what you would find in Death Valley.
I have a piece of desert in the yucca area. It is just a piece of cactus infested, sand with a plowed out sand "road".. no power, no water, great spot. I head into Lake Havasu every second day for supplies/water and kayaking. I tour the surrounding places of interest. Only there in April, but I have friends that stay November to March. It is what it is.
I saw a video one time where you talked about being in the hottest place (Lake Havasu) and the coldest place (Greer) in the same day I can't remember what video it's in can yo help me I want to share it with someone.
Born and raised in Arizona. (1958) But have never been to the hole in the ground. Been to most others though. Not a Tourist. You missed Tortilla Flat and Goldfield
I’ve watched a lot of your videos and so far have seen nothing about Sierra Vista. It’s 73 miles SE of Tucson. Really good retirement place, about 435,000 residents and all the shopping you need. Clean, safe, quiet, weather is better than many other AZ places. I was there in April. Gas at all stations was $3.59 per gl. In Tucson, ALL gas was $4.79 per gl. Huge difference. Can buy an average 3bed/2bath house in low to mid $200k and property taxes are low. Not a bad drive to Tucson, can do it in 1hr, 20mins, straight flat good roads. I live in Chapala, Jalisco and probably moving to Sierra Vista next year. Can you do a video on Sierra Vista? Thanks!
Arizona is #1 for rattlesnakes. They are not mentioned much on most videos on Arizona travel. Perhaps the risk is low if you follow best practices when out in their environment.
I build houses in the Phoenix area for more than 30 years and hike a lot. I've seen a couple in 30 years. In the spring sometimes you see snakes crossing the road. It's not really a problem they don't want to be around you either.
I don’t recommend Lake Havasu unless you still think frat parties are fun. If you’re not there on a party weekend then you’ll have the whole place to yourself, but the town itself is pretty dull. Plan on fishing, or boating.
As fun as Phoenix metro area can be-scenically it’s dogshit compared to basically the rest of the state. Arizona is a four season state and as cool as all these sites are in this video-they only get better with a little snow on the ground. Prescott and those valley towns, verde valley and Sedona valley only get prettier with a dusting of snow.
Have to be rich to do things in state of Arizona. People that are on SSI and SSDI and social security and VA benefits don't have the money to do things here.people on fixed income can't do things that have to pay for in Arizona it cost so much to go places and do things too.get to pay going on the swap meet and the farmers market and the zoos and more.

Done ‘em all and live in one of them. Lot’s of great places however most of these need more than a day to really do more than look and scoot.
Arizona state in my heart 🙋♀️🌵💝
