I am such a fan of the raw emotion he portrayed. I just... Can't believe how blessed we are that he got the role. It's amazing to watch. Lord of the Rings was the best cast series I've ever seen. It's probably so good because the friendships were real. I have dreams to direct films, and i always remind myself that i would have time set aside for the cast spend time together before they start working, like they did. It's smart. Ugh. I remember being irritated when the film came out that they omitted the scouring of the shire, but it made sense for the film adaptation. Over the years that irritation faded to actual admiration for that choice. It was brilliant in the books, but the film worked so much better without it than it could have if they tried to include it.
That feeling extends to a bunch of things the films left out/changed. Plus, it gave new LotR fans a great reason to read the books and experience the bits they missed in the films.

The animation of Gollum. It EARNED those Oscars and the recognition and the praise for being an epic fantasy masterpiece. I love it when _really_ young kiddos can read complex stories. Even when they read stuff like Stephen King. Bet _you_ can't wait until she rereads some of these more complex stories when she's older? Just to see how her comprehension changes over the years. Once she's lived some social experiences to compare them to. It really is exciting to be a parent of a smart child. We get to see them grow & change so much. It's almost hard for us to keep up with them sometimes.
Suggestion for you both to try? Put on a movie score playlist in the background _while_ you read. One of our favourites right now is composer, Hans Zimmer's 'Inception' & composers Wojciech Kilar & Michael Seifert, 'Bram Stoker's Dracula' (1992). These makes for a _very_ interesting thrill ride of an adventure. All while our noses are buried in our book. Happy reading to you both. Have a fantastic day, cheers!😁

@@Digitalhunny True. I know she will get more out of the complex books when she is older. My wife is waiting for her to read her favorite book, 'Watership Down', until she is nine. Thanks for the advice. I will try playing music scores in the background. My daughter plays movie film scores all the time when she studies or draws, of her favorite movies like Lord of The Rings and Harry Potter.

I just love the way he talks about each film with such enthusiasm and a happy twinkle in his big blue eyes. I was fortunate to watch Elijah grow up on film in his many movie roles and so he stays close to my heart. But then states that Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of his favorite films just made me love him even more. Not to mention that he also brought up Heavenly Creatures AND High Tension! Those two movies just happen to be some of my all time faves too 😍 Oh Elijah! lol

I really missed Dirk Gently’s holistic agency. I know, we had a segment on Winfred, which was the better of the two shows, but really: Elijah Wood starred in two of the most epic of unknown, underappriciated tv shows ever.
