We are auto locksmiths and Honda door locks are one of the one of the hardest to get out. That part always breaks so don't feel bad. To be honest my guys refuse to work on them any more. We will cut and program keys but no more pulling door locks. We send them to a mechanic or let another locksmith do them. Not worth the time or hassle for us. Honda's also are the most problematic for worn wafers. Basically why your key stopped working in the drivers door. If you look in the comment section many others have the same issue. We service about 100 cars per week and Honda's by far are the only make with this level of bad wafers. As a locksmith we would have keyed it to your old key instead of replacing the lock or rekeyed the new lock to your old key to keep it a one key car. If you home gamers are doing this yourself might as well purchase a keying kit. Watch some videos on how to replace the wafers to match your key. If you can pull the door lock you have the skills to rekey it.
very informative, i had same issue with my car a 2004 citroen c3, would not start one day and reason flat battery, so i central locked all the doors and kept engine bay open to remove battery and put it on charge, came back the following day to put battery back, and this car only has one door lock with a keyhole, and i could not get back into the car, the key did what your did can be a nightmare
Go on ebay and buy a whole assembly for $35, it’s hell to do. It’s called a door lock cylinder and the name of the whole thing is the exterior door lock assembly
I know, its because my dad will have a hard time and it will take him an hour or longer disassembling car parts, and it's not really good for the memory in the camera and sometimes the battery will go down so I try to conserve
The video started with you walking out the door. I knew immediately this was gonna take too long before you showed what you the videos is really about.
I was having the same issue. This video helped so much. Thanks :)

I need to do mine in my 2003 civic coupe. The key will go both door locks but won't turn on either lock.
Btws do you use the same key for all the locks or your stuck having to deal with two different ones
Two
I got the same problem, welcome to cheap Japanese automakers, everything made of cheap plastic. Never had an issue with American door locks.
Looks like having a Dad do this avoids a lot of aggravation.
I have the same make, model, and year car and both doors have this same problem. Does the key you unlock the door with fit your ignition?
It can fit but it won't turn inside the ignition which is a good thing
@@PaulBGmz So you have two keys, one for door, one for ignition?
@@aaronhickerson6092 Yes
@@PaulBGmz Thanks so much for the quick replies! :) You've really helped me out
@@aaronhickerson6092 your welcome :)
What’s that piece call and where I can order it ? Thank you!
My dad got it online by searching the year of the car and what kind of part
