    The electric company make us responsible for these meters in their contracts. That includes any and all fees from damage fire theft etc. if that’s the case then we as homeowners should be allowed to decided what’s on our houses.

      That's retarded. You buy electricity from a company, they sell you what they sell you. Or you could opt not to have electricity. I mean, it's pretty simple.

      Try and opt out of having a power connection to your house! You will find the feds there telling you that you will connect to the electric or you will go to jail. It has happened all over the US.

      It's no different than cable TV boxes. The box belongs to the utility provider. You dont want the box, you don't subscribe to the service. With smart meters, if you don't pay the bill, the power is cut to the meter. A disconnected smart meter radiates nothing.

      Fake news wrong! Most of what you are talking about is in areas controlled by home owner associations! And a few municipalities (with interest in power or water) that regulate what a home owner can and can't do! No federal law prohibits a home owner from switching to solar or wind power! In fact there are rebates available as tax deductions for doing this!! In my community, you can't have a well inside city limits, the city is the water company! There are many homes that actually produce more power than they use and send it to the grid! Federal law REQUIRES power companies to PAY for this energy!! DO YOUR RESEARCH!!

      noah leven ok, then how do you expect us to progress? Humans have come this far from constantly improving.
      The reason why power companies want this new meatier is because they can now read it a distance away and mange the system better. Without it they'll have to send people to manually read his meter, mark it down, then probably send him a fee for it.

      noah leven I'm not going to touch the "people should choose or not" topic.
      What I will touch is this mans information. Looking into the house fires, I've seen a lot of people kick up dirt about it. Unfortunately I could find a case where someone proved it was related to one of the new meters. What I was more interested in though was a case study on how often it happen and why. It appears to be a big enough concern that small groups of people are worried but not so big everyone is talking about it or happening enough for people to notice.
      So to me it looks like he read it online and just took that information at face value. That wouldn't surprise me considering he doesn't know how radiation works.

    • @auntiem873
      @auntiem873 7 лет назад +2

      TheMan TheLegend - a lot of people just accept that but in reality, No. They cannot wave their responsibility in the cause of the accident. You will have to sue the insurance company but you will also have to sue the guys/company that installed it. Prove that they did nothing wrong and that the original manufacturer (them) is to blame. That is why you need the fire report as soon as it is written and try for a copy of the hand written notes. All this before the insurance claims people get a hold of it and rewrite it then get the fire chief to sign off on it. Then in court they can explain why the fire department. Signed off on the insurance companies report without having been there at the fire and after it was cleaned up (in some cities the fire department goes in after the fire and pulls out stuff puts it in a pile after the arson person says it’s okay. This the insurance people don’t see the real damage and that’s what they say in court.
      With the original report and notes and photos if you can get them courts usually make the insurance pay out.
      In this case the electric company.
      It’s a pain and most people are in shock at the time and that’s to the insurance benefit.
      My house burned down and my Dad died in the fire. My Mom, to keep herself busy, instead of worrying about his death and worked with rebuilding the house so she had a place for her kids and her. She got the paperwork within 48 hours and within 5 days the insurance refused to cover even half the cost of He house. Cited a lot of stuff, she pulled out the original report and they paid up. She then sued the people who caused our fire and after 5 years they saw we were not dropping and settled.
      It’s not easy but worth it. The people who caused the fire had to pay the lawyer and not us.

      Andy Fromm - my house burned and the outside was made of brick. The inside is not though. When brick gets to hot, it explodes. Because it is what people see they say the brick caught, catches on fire. The real danger
      Is the bits that fly out during the explosion that can hurt firefighters, police and anyone watching nearby.

    Here in New Zealand, if you don't want a smart meter installed you just tell them to get off the property and they have to leave otherwise they're trespassing. Friend of mine still has his old meters, refuses to let them install smart meters for the very same reasons as the guy in this video states.

    • @valeriericksmithlovett428
      @valeriericksmithlovett428 11 месяцев назад

      @@miked9958 No, actually they don't! With the old analog meters, American utility companies have to go through a legal process in order to shut the power off to your home in the event of nonpayment of a utility bill. With the "smart" meters however, they do not, because they don't need to enter your property in order to shut off energy service, because the new meters allow them to do so remotely. If you deny them entry, or have a fenced yard, they cannot enter the property BY LAW! Also, the box that houses the meter is the property of the homeowner and if you attach locks or chains to the meter box, they cannot breach, cut, remove, damage, or destroy the chains or locks in order to access and/or remove the current utility meter, BY LAW!!
      If entry to your property is made in spite of denial of permission by the homeowner, the technician is guilty of trespassing! If he or she breaches a locked gate or power box, and in the process breaks or damages ANY property, not only are they guilty of trespassing but they are also committing the crime of vandalism! These are crimes and they are punishable by law should the homeowner press charges!!
      NOBODY has the "RIGHT" to enter another person's PRIVATE PROPERTY without permission by the homeowner, with the exception of the homeowner and those who ARE permitted to enter their property!! This is America, not China!

    The utility company owns the meters. The highest voltage inside a smart meter is the line voltage. The radio signal is at wifi levels. This old engineer is afraid of new technology, and seems to have forgotten everything about basic EM physics that he learned in school. (I'm older and haven't stopped learning.)

      So, what you're saying is that you're ok with sleeping on a wireless router, right next to a microwave that's running all the time, or even a high voltage meter with constant wifi going? I guess we all gotta die somehow, but this isn't the answer.

    • @thesaintmustwalkalone708

      First of all, you need to study government and the rights of Americans and property owners. It is not really a matter of whether you agree with him or not.
      Secondly, tons of studies have proven WiFi unsafe at the levels we get. It is advised to keep your wifi off at night and when not in use.
      I think you need to keep learning.

    High frequency radio waves you say? Old curmudgeon probably refuses wifi all the same, its right in the middle of the microwave range. Sounds like a lot of bunk, I get it engineer and everything, not a doctor though but I agree that he should be able to keep his old meter if he so chose. Only of course if the electric company has to go out of their way to read the meter manually then a fee should be associated with it

      Boris Bagryanskiy depending on the size of the waves, but usually hig freq radio is no good to your cells. Google lights spectrum, after uv its pretty much dangerous to humans.
      Also wifi is really low feq not really dangerous

      Whoa dude! I hope this codger is not getting the gamma bomb, lest he will turn into the Hulk and Duquesne Light Co. will have a real problem.
      On a serious note, I think it is a little embarrassing when you are telling others to read, but you yourself have a weak grasp on basic concepts. A good example being, "size of waves", not really sure what you meant by that, but since we are talking about frequency I will assume you meant as such. Also, high frequency radio waves are a category of EM waves explicitly defined by IEEE to be on the 3MHz to 30MHz range, and not a generic term you simply throw around. What is more astounding is your prevailing belief that somehow, without any strong evidence or background in medicine, you believe that HF radio waves at a permissible exposure limit allowed by the FCC, cause some kind of ailment. WiFi is really "low freq", make one really ponder why the hell IEEE has 2.4GHz and 5.8Ghz WiFi classified as Ultra High Frequency and Super High Frequency respectively.
      Moreover, according to a report submitted to the Public Commission of the State of CA by Pacific Gas and Electric Company, smart meters are exclusive to to 900MHz and 2.4GHz frequencies. Assuming the data is correct from the PG&E Co. and that our 900MHz wave is propagating spherically, lets do some simple math:
      2500mW/1sec = Power, Intensity = Power / SArea, SArea = 4pi(r^2). 2 feet away and the intensity will be 4 times less than if you were 1 foot away(199mW to 49mW). However, it is not propagating spherically and in a more directional way - reducing the exposure time for person crossing paths(not to mention that PG&E states their meters transmit at an avg of 45 secs in a 24 hour period). To completely destroy you, here is an excerpt from the American Cancer Society on smart meters: "the amount of RF radiation you could be exposed to from a smart meter is much less than what you could be exposed to from a cell phone".
      Consider you ignorance banished.

      You know what I find very ironic? Here is an excerpt from your pièce de résistance book of concealed kookery "...many have forsaken establishment medicine
      in favor of a holistic, prescient type that too often neglects technology's real advantages..."
      Ok, so what am I missing exactly? CrossCurrents, as in the the journal published Association for Religion and Intellectual Life? This ought to be good, also I got the Body Electric book show me where and what I got wrong. Another thing, you do realize the only opinion I gave was expressing how I felt the guys should have a choice? Everything else is a straight up fact. So far I have not found anything contradictory or anything that would add to the debate in anyway from the book (just so you know electric current and EM radiation are fundamentally different things)...
      If you really want a batshit crazy book, I got a read for you (unrelated to the topic) - The Pychosocial, Chemical, Biological, and Electomagnetic Manipulation of Humans written by Valdamar Valerian. If you dont want to spend 70$ or however much it is now, I can email you a copy. By the end of this conversation you will be wearing an aluminum or dunce cap yet, which ever one is more comfortable for you.

    High voltages? What is this guy smoking. Of course it has high voltages, so does the rest of the house. The wiring inside the walls is probably more dangerous, especially if the house is old. And emitting radio waves? So do cell towers, electronics, WiFi, radio stations. You cannot escape radio waves and the smart meter calling home is the least of your concern.

      Exactly, the voltage going through the meter will be 230V and it's going to be the same throughout the entire house. Only the cable between the power station and your general local area will be a very high voltage. Somewhere near your house will be a big transformer that changes the voltage and current.

    I've been refusing smartmeters at every turn. Why? Because the utility company refuses to guarantee that a smartmeter will only measure actual power used and not apparent power. Why is this important? Because a lot of electronics have a super shitty powerfactor these days. And a shitty powerfactor means that it draws a lot of apparent power, even if it only uses a trivial amount of actual power.
    As long as building code refuses to allow me a safe method of installing whole-house active powerfactor correction, I refuse a smartmeter.

    • @chrisb3583
      @chrisb3583 7 лет назад +2

      Fermitu Poupon just curious where would you find the pf rating for household appliances? Along with a residential sized capacitor/inductor bank? Also I was under the impression that the difference in apparent and actual power was pretty negligible out side of commercial and industrial settings

    • @fermitupoupon1754
      @fermitupoupon1754 7 лет назад +3

      I just have a meter for it. It's like a kill-a-watt, but made by Voltcraft. It has an option to show PF for the current load.
      Generally the PF hasn't mattered for household use, because it was never measured. Over in Groesbeek they removed hundreds of smartmeters because people got bills that were triple or quadruple their previous bills, with no significant change in their use. Turned out those meters measured apparent power rather than actual power.
      Cheap electronics have abject PF, simply because noone ever cared when they designed them and building them without PFC was cheaper. Cheap chargers, LED lamps, computer power supplies. Some of that stuff has a PF under 0.5, the worst I've seen was an LED lamp with a PF of 0.17.
      Finding a residential sized capacitor/inductor bank isn't the problem. I have a 3-phase line coming into my house, so I can just get a 3x25A rated industrial unit. Those are pretty cheap. The problem is building code for me, and by proxy home insurance.
      And most of the big machines in my woodshop are ex-industrial units, which run 3.5-5kW 3phase induction motors. I'd rather not get a bill for apparent power use.

    • @psdaengr911
      @psdaengr911 7 лет назад +3

      You "super shitty power factor" in a typical home with a refridgerator, washer, drier, dish washer is barely affected by the mostly capacitive electronics loads. Why? Because the total power consumed by electronics is trivial compared to those applicances with motors, which are inductors.

    • @fermitupoupon1754
      @fermitupoupon1754 7 лет назад +3

      Why would it matter what kind of load has a shitty pf? What matters is that an old ferarris meter can't measure aparent power. New smart meters can, and in some cases do measure aparent power. If the average appliance or device in your home has a pf of 0.66, your electricity bill would go up dramatically just because of the changed meter.
      Any residential building built before 2012 in my country has no code-compliant means of installing PFC. The 2015 update to the 2012 code, retro-actively made PFC possible. But my house was built under 1962 code. Getting it to comply with the 2012 code means replacing the entire electrical for my house. To the point where I have to replace the PVC in the walls with new PVC, because inch sizes are no longer allowed in post 1980 code. I'd have to replace the fuses with breakers, add in extra GFCI's and all kinds of really expensive crap that isn't going to do anything for me.
      I'd rather just keep the ferraris meter for as long as possible.

    Well, the fire concerns are real, although considering the number of meters installed vs. the number that have burned I'd say the issue is of minimal concern. I feel that the RF radiation is also of minimal concern (considering the proliferation of other, more powerful sources of such radiation in our everyday lives), but rather than fighting over this why not just install an RF shield over the meter? You can either buy one fairly cheap or just cobble-together one out of scrap that will block 90%+ of the RF put out by these things.

      doesnt matter FCC already has regulations on them regardless of state. 1 watt output max, and its either old 900mhz cell phone radio waves or 2.4ghz wifi range... WOOPIE. ya get more from your cell phone constantly at your ear ALL DAY... and all the wifi and hotspots around you 24/7 who cares about a meter...

    • @Honeypot-x9s
      @Honeypot-x9s 6 лет назад +1

      Syc holic 1 watt at 900mhz ? That’s actually way to low for max output. Likely 2-5 watts. I believe 900Mhz isn’t even used on meters in the us cuz 900Mhz requires licensing and spectrum cost even though it’s fairly empty now a days in North America.. I believe smart meters and utilized run on MURS/2Meter bands (150mhz range) and 70cm bands (440mhz range). 900Mhz is still used on some stuff, however it’s being phased out.. and yes even 150-440mhz is all digital as well.
      And WiFi can be up to equivalent 25watts unlicensed and 65 watts equivalent licensed. But I doubt it uses WiFi band since WiFi is a very small portion of the 2.4Ghz/5.8Ghz spectrum. And a large chunk of the microwave bands are unlicensed usage in the US... including WiFi...
      Anyway this guy is a nutter... I worked around high output RF a lot in the past. And if your priorities are really fucked up if a little 25 watt (worst case) 2.4Ghz box scares you that bad...
      I do think high output of RF causes health concerns and maybe even cancers... but the amount of output that I would worry about is like if you live under a 10 KW Tv Antenna and your roof and house is in the reflection path of beam... then I think RF is a concern.

    Most Smart Meters use the 900 MHz ISM band and transmit about 1/2 of a watt. The thing does not transmit all the time. Mainly to cut back on interference with other devices. Examples of other uses would be like baby video/audio monitors, wireless security cameras, some outdoor internet bridging equipment, natural gas pipeline monitoring, river water level monitoring, etc. There is a lot of devices that can use the ISM band. It is a low power radio band with decent propagation. It is normally in receive mode waiting on instructions. The power company can send out a signal telling the meters to "upload" their data once or twice a day or they can "push" out a software upgrade from time to time. The meter does very little transmitting. It just sends a few packets of data occasionally. It could be for a few seconds or a few minutes during a day. The power output (when transmitting) is about the same as a home wifi router or a cell phone while on a call. I have managed equipment in the ISM band and I know how it all works. I have worked together with the engineers that build the meters to reduce interference problems.
    This is just paranoia. If you don't want a smart meter then you might as well put your cell phones in the mailbox, turn off all your power and line your walls with tinfoil and wear a mylar blanket in the dark with just oil lamps! Right Saul?

      *Let's look at why we do not need smart meters*
      #1 A smart meter will hurt or even KILL disabled homeowners who have disabled medical implants. The average of deaths by smart meter radiation and smart meter fires is almost 100 every month in North America.
      #2 Did you know if your power company “turned off” the power to your home when they did a smart meter install, your chance of a smart meter fire increased by a factor of 10,000.
      #3 Your power company has access to all of you private power information. Eg When you make tea, when you turn on your alarm etc. This private information is sold to Google for huge sums of money. Ask your power company what the second radio transmitter in your smart meter does. (ZigBee)
      #4 A smart meter will cause cancer to return if your family members who are fighting cancer at home. If they come home from the hospital and sleep near a smart meter, they will die. Check with the US Cancer Society website.
      #5 Smart Meter RADIATION will turn off breakers in your home. Both AFCI's and GFI's get turned off by the radiation from the smart meter.
      #6 You smart meter is very accurate, BUT, the software (firmware) is programmable. Your bill has nothing to do with the power you use.
      #7 Smart meter radiation is breaking Ionic Bonding.
      #8 A huge expenditure for a huge loss. Billions of dollars to purchase something that does not general generate any power and each smart meter need 4 watts to operate. One million smart meters use 4,000 KILOWATTS of energy to operate.
      #9 The second radio transmitter is for ZigBee. If you want your power company to MONITOR your home 24/7, then you are in luck. Don’t forget, this private information will be sold. Why do you think your power company spends BILLIONS of dollars and does not generate one watt of extra power to sell?
      Let's debate every point with REAL FACTS.
      *WHICH POWER COMPANY DO YOU WORK FOR ASSHOLE?*

    • @vladislavdracula1763
      @vladislavdracula1763 6 лет назад +1

      Citations are needed for points one and two.
      Point three is simply impossible. It's impossible for a wattmeter with a transmitter relaying the total amount of power being used to the power company to record exactly what devices are being used at any given time. With manual examination of the history, it is possible to make an educated guess about what devices are being used. For example, if the electricity being drawn by a given house jumps from 2,500 Watts to 2,560 Watts, it is possible for the power company to guess that a lightbulb has just been turned on. They don't have any 100% accurate way of doing this, and it can be done with regular meters as well.
      Number four needs a citation.
      Number 5 is impossible. If the breakers got turned off by the meter, the electricity wouldn't be able to make it to the outlet in the wall.
      It is possible for the electricity company to charge you for more than you used, but there is no evidence that they actually do it, nor is there any evidence that smart meters cause them to do it.
      Number 7 is BLATANTLY false. It's IMPOSSIBLE for a 300 MHz - 3 GHz signal to become ionizing. Electromagnetic radiation starts to become ionizing just short of 1 PHz, or 1,000,000,000 MHz.
      4 Megawatts for A MILLION people is nothing. Let's say that the meters are running 24/7. In a month, they will use a little less than 3 GWh combined. Divide that by 1 million, and you'll find that every meter uses 3 KWh per month. The average household in the US uses a little less than 1 GWh per month, meaning that the meter uses 0.3% of an average household's electricity. If you want the power company to subtract 0.30 USD from your power bill, that's fair, but suggesting that smart meters use some insane amount of electricity is not.
      A company cannot sell data if they have no data to sell.

    while meters in the EU are safer. (some older models do have some issue's but those are already being replaced and gone. {the ones that read a higher voltage, people with meters which read less energy used are properly happy with their meter since they pay less due a false/fake reading due some glitch in that specified model meter})

    I declined a smart meter, because of the Big Brother aspect. Unfortunately, we have to pay $24 each month for a meter reading. It sucks, but it's a price I'm stuck paying for my privacy. I live in Ohio, and my electric is provided by AEP. I'm happy that they allow homeowners to opt out, even if we have to pay a monthly fee for a meter reading.

      *LOOK WHAT YOU ARE GETTING FOR YOUR $24 A MONTH*

      +Frederique Zug Thanks for your post! I was getting bummed out about the $24/month ($288/year) but now I feel much better! In the past week, everyone on my street got smart meters installed. For those who opt out, AEP will install a non-emitting digital meter. They haven't changed the meter on my house yet, because they are waiting for me to mail in my signed opt-out form. Anyway, I pointed out the smart meter to my next door neighbor and commented about big brother watching her. She had no clue what a smart meter was, and apparently ignored the card the electric company sent her. People are so ignorant. I had no clue there was a second radio transmitter in a smart meter, but I have no doubt the information will be collected and sold. Possible health and fire hazards aside, the whole thing just creeps me out.

      You already know your power company *CAN NOT* cause your power bill to increase.
      *SMART METERS ARE PROGRAMMED TO DO AS THE POWER COMPANY WANTS THEM TO DO*

      Zigbee will steal 1/2 of your WiFi bandwidth.
      ZigBee will allow the power company to take *COMMAND* of every SMART APPLIANCE in your home.
      *The radiation from these smart meters are causing AFCI and GFI breakers to TRIP*

      +Frederique Zug As it happens, they were cutting power to homes when they did the meter swap. Will be interesting if there is going to be an increase in house fires in my area. Anyway, I looked at those links you posted. That's some scary stuff. Especially that document from the Congressional Research Service. I mean, that's our own government saying that smart meters can track when you're home, and know the appliances you are using, and this information is useful for third parties. Okay, now I'm convinced. I'm now glad that I only have to pay $24 a month to opt out of this nonsense.

      Thank you hamsterama. You made my week. 👍
      With your $24 a month, you are missing out on this.
      #1 A fire at 2AM caused by a bad smart meter installer causing damage and fire.
      #2 You power bill is not going to increase by 50% to 200%
      #3 A huge source of radiation that is so powerful, these smart meters will trip GFI and AFCI breakers inside of your metal breaker enclosure.
      #4 You will not have any friends, family with medical implants DYING when they walk past your glass and metal wattmeter.
      #5 The #2 radio transmitter (ZigBee) will not "HOG" almost 1/2 of your WiFi bandwidth.
      #6 Your private information will not be SOLD to a third party.
      #7 If any family member is fighting cancer, you will not have any smart meter radiation aggravating the healing process.
      Smart meter fires 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
      Almost all Fire Departments are under some kind of a gag order about smart meter fires.
      There are lots of power companies that remove the smart meter before the fire investigators arrive. This is another criminal act.
      Thank you again for your great comments, most ot the time I get called every name under the sun.
      I bet you didn't know how many of these smart meter lovers are power company managers who get paid to try and to make folks like you and I FOOLS.

They will know that you have not turned on your stove, or oven. The police need cause, and a warrant to do this, and they are sneaking it in. It is not out of the real of possibility for a handy homeowner to put a post in the ground five or ten feet from his structure. He will then mount a meter can with a disconnect at eye level in order that the utility co. can read the meter. Homeowner can run conduit and cable from meter can to structure. Utility can then connect at post with meter base. I think 10 feet is a safe distance in case the smart meter wants to blow off like a fucking volcano.

    I sell generators and I have a group of people who refuse to get these meters and by off grid generators . It will cost you thousands if you Don’t get theses meters installed and power company will shut you off if you don’t update to new meter . Your best bet if you don’t want to spend $20-$30,000 on solar an off grid generators have the meter relocated away from your house if possible to where you’ll be far enough away and the signal will not affect you and if it burns up it will not take your house with it.

      SMART METERS CAN NOT BE USED TO INTERRUPT THE LOAD
      IF THE METER IS NOT BYPASSED, THEN THE CHANCE OF A SMART METER FIRE INCREASES BY A FACTOR OF 1000 TIMES
      IF THE CUSTOMERS METER BASE IS NOT INSPECTED TO MAKE SURE THEY STILL MEET UL CERTIFCATION, THEN RISK OF A FIRE INCREASES BY A FACTOR OF 10,000 TIMES AND THE UL CERTIFICATION OF THE CUSTOMER'S METER BASE IS DESTROYED BY THIS CRIMINAL ACT
      If you come home and find the power has been interrupted to your home and you have a new smart meter, call the police and charge your power company and the meter installer with ATTEMPTED ARSON.
      WATCH, AND TAKE NOTES ON THE ONLY LEGAL WAY TO DO A METER SWAP
      ruclips.net/video/G0bq2Hn2vOo/видео.html
      #1 If they install a smart meter and your power goes out, then they are ARSONIST.
      In Canada, it is against the law, all smart meter swaps have to be BYPASSED to keep the power on.
      #2 If the customers UL certified meter base is NOT INSPECTED by a CERTIFIED electrician before the meter swap, they they are probably breaking the law and will increase the chance of your home burning down by a factor of 10,000 times.
      Remember, the only electrical device in your home that is NOT UL APPROVED is their smart meter.
      Why do you ask a smart meter is not UL APPROVED
      BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT BUILT STRONG ENOUGH TO MEET UL'S SAFETY REQUIREMENTS.
      They are only certified to measure power consumed.

      Could smart meters cause health problems in cancer survivors?
      www.cancer.org/cancer/cancer-causes/radiation-exposure/smart-meters.html
      While RF exposure might not cause cancer directly, concern has been voiced that cells in the body that have been damaged by exposure to some other substance might somehow be more likely to become cancerous when exposed to RF waves. In theory, this might be a concern for cancer patients being treated with ionizing radiation and/or medicines that might cause cancer themselves.

    I live in the UK. All the energy companies are rolling smart meters out. We don't have a Choice. Both my gas and electric, have been changed over. Not happy. The guy that installed them, made it sound like I'd won the lottery. They are so good. I tackled him on a couple of things. The high emf, and chance of fire. He told me how safe they are. Yeah right! These things are inside my house...

    On legal terms, the meter itself isn't his property, whereas the meter housing is, so the power company should simply come out and remove the meter and leave it that way, when he decides that he wants his power back he can decide between a smart meter or nothing at all

    It's a bigger issue that you can't verify the actual meter reading. Would you buy you gasoline at a station that only showed dollar values on how much you bought when you got your credit card bill. No way to verify at the meter manually. Yet if you go off grid they condemn your house because you have no electrical service from the utility and children's services takes your children for the same reason

    There is NO National Standard for max Radio Frequency Radiation like there is for Power Plant emissions, including Nuclear Plants. NONE! 5g RFI emissions are many times higher than your cell phone or TV. One correct comment herein is that it’s good for the Power Companies - they will charge you for VA instead of kW, and your bill will likely increase. Refer to Obamba: “One outcome will be that your electrical bill will naturally increase!” Also check out New Mexico’s new law on misnamed “Smart Meters”. Nearly ALL of the Utilities claims for customer benefits are untrue. All the benefits accrue to the Power Companies and the Regulators. Worse, almost no-one on the Public Utility Commissions understands the science or the potential impacts of RFI Radiation. This worldwide endeavor is about CONTROL (of you and your behavior). But don’t believe me. Check it out yourself.

    You don't want a smart meter? Just install solar panels on your roof, set up a load of batteries and end your electricity contract. We are doing that right now, some of the most essential systems in our house (Wifi router, heating controller, air ventilation system and the emergency radio) are already running off grid right now on batteries that are recharged by a temporary single solar panel throughout the day. The off grid system runs on 24 V DC (just like a motorhome) so we need to convert a few devices that currently run on 230 V AC. The cooler and freezers will be next, then the water pumps, then the lights, ...
    You do need thick cables for low voltage systems but in return the safety regulations are much less restrictive. For example you can place a 24 V light switch in reach of a shower while it is highly illegal to do the same with a 230 V light switch for obvious reasons.
    We do already have a motorhome that my parents built themselves from an old coach. So installing this off grid system in our house is the same procedure just in a much bigger dimension.
    If that's too much work for you, you can just buy a DC/AC converter to 230 V and keep all your electrics as they are.
    There might be some things you should know however. The German legislation is about to require off grid electricity systems to pay grid costs as well in the future, even though they don't use the grid.

    It is pretty simple. If the electric utility can't achieve the standards they are mandated to have, they will disconnect the power feed at the pole. If the customer wants power, they will have to comply.

      Let's look at why we need TIN FOIL HATS.

  • @simonsmith2642
    @simonsmith2642 6 лет назад +1

    It's not your meter. If I was the electric company, I would shut the power off, take the meter back to the shop, and wait for a call. "You said not to install our new meter, so we didn't, we did discontinue and retire our old meters, if you require our service, let us know, we will be glad to install a meter, of our choosing"
    It's not that I agree with smart meters or side with the big power company monopoly, but it isn't his meter, it isn't his choice. If you don't like it, put in solar or a generator or other alternative. You do have choices. None of which are cheap. But if you want their services, they I stall their equipment, you have no choice, none. It doesn't belong to you and you don't have a right to their services.
