Thank you for reacting to my fave female artist ever. Also, for someone who doesn't normally listen to lyrics, Jeremy sure knows these lyrics pretty well (wink wink). You can tell you're a big Tori fan!!! And let's be honest, it's never a bad time to revisit Tori's music. I am not a fan of Yamaha pianos, so I was actually surprised to see that, as well. She used to play Steinway as well, but Borsendorfer exclusively now I think. I may have more requests for her just because everything she does is so great. She reminds me of Prince in the way where she just becomes one with the instrument she's playing. Prince does that with his guitar. Also, what she's doing is difficult to play and sing at the same time, but it seems very natural to her. Her phrasing, dynamics, pronunciation, all of it, is just so unique and one of a kind, still to this day. Great reaction and loved the extra bonus song, as well. I love Tool. It is crazy to see them both so young in a way, but at the same time, that's how they look in my mind's eye because back in the '90s is when I actually discovered both of their music. Thanks for the reaction again! Happy Saturday!
I’m sooooo with you on everything you said. 100%. And yeah, def not a big lyric person…but the songs from “Little Earthquakes” up through “From the Choirgirl Hotel” I’m very familiar with. Those were my jams. But if you’ve got more Tori for us, can I request that it NOT be “Me and a Gun”? I really would like to NOT do that on camera. 😰 But yeah, always a huge Tori fan. Have you heard her version of Somewhere over the Rainbow? When she whispers certain words…I just love that! Anyways Dani, thanks again for taking me down memory lane. This is just awesome. Hope you and the family are well homegirl! 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽
@@musikbyjh Sorry I'm now just answering this. Just been busy, and I guess now we are getting ready to have a hurricane. But just stopping by to assure you not to worry and that I didn't have "Me and a Gun" in mind at all, so that's completely fine. I can't do that one. There are a couple of other ones that I won't do, as well. However, one of my favorites of hers is actually the title track off that album, "Little Earthquakes," which was always one of my favorites because of her vocals near the end and the build. So powerful. Also, if there's ever something that you would want me to replace with another request, just shoot me an email. I have all kinds of ideas for requests, so I won't take it personally! :)
@@danivansuperstar oh man!! A hurricane?!? I hope everything will be all good for you guys! We’ve been out of the loop on what’s going on. Yeah, there are def some tough Tori songs. The song “Little Earthquakes” is amazing. The end is just powerful. That whole album is just phenomenal. And no worries about the requests and changing them out if we want…really appreciate the flexibility! But so far so good homegirl! 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽
@@musikbyjh Yeah, this hurricane kind of popped up quick and now south Louisiana is scrambling to get prepared. It will hit tomorrow just west of us as a Cat 2, which shouldn't be too bad, but we will definitely lose power, because we lose power constantly around here for "normal" storms. Hopefully, we aren't going to get the brunt of it. If it shifts more east, it will be a direct hit with 100 mph winds at the eye wall, so we are prepared either way. But back to topic: I agree with the Little Earthquakes album as a whole being phenomenal. In fact, imo, it's probably one of the most "perfect" albums recorded and is at least in my top 5 or 10. See you guys Home FrYday!!! (Unless we don't have power or YT access for a few days in which case I'll be off the grid, which honestly can be kind of fun. Don't worry, though. I'll get back to it as soon as I can!)
She has a beautiful soprano voice! And thank you for the bonus song. It was fun to watch. Back in ‘91 I still had kids in school. We played more of what they liked, or were watching MTV. So I missed the Tori era. I need to dig back and start to listen because the woman has skills! Thanks for this introduction to something you enjoyed. 🎶 Cyd
I was at the show with Maynard. It was as incredible as it seems 😍 It was in 1997 or early 1998, I think? It was a benefit for RAINN -- the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network.
Are. You. Kidding. ME!?! 🫠 Im so extremely jealous. Wow. That must have been phenomenal. Yeah, Tori was definitely big on RAINN. I mean, especially hearing her story and the song Me and a Gun…you can see why it is so important to her. I’m so glad that you commented and I can kinda live vicariously, retroactively through you. Lol. Cheers to ya! 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽
@@musikbyjh That concert will always hold a special place for me. Not only musically amazing, but as a teenager growing up in NJ, it was the first time I was allowed to take the train to NYC by myself. I went to the show alone, but in that crowd, never once did I feel alone or unsafe. That's a special thing.
Wow, if you haven’t heard anything since Venus, the double cd To Venus and Back came out in 1999, so much longer then 8 years ago… She has released 8 original studio albums since then, starting with the exceptional Scarlets Walk in 2002 all the way up to the wonderful Ocean to Ocean from 2021…She also released an album of all covers called Strange Little Girls, which includes covers of the likes of Eminem, Slayer, Beatles, Tom Waits and Depeche Mode… It seems you really like Tori, so I would totally recommend you take some time and do a deep dive into all that you have missed out on over the years.. So much great stuff to discover.
Thanks for reacting to the musical genius/goddess Tori Amos! Absolutely amazing still ❤
One of the Top 5 Artists I've been fortunate enough to see live. Awesome reaction!
I don’t know to explain how much I loved this reaction. You never see anyone mouthing the words to this. Thank you both! Pure joy!
Thank you for this sweet comment!!
