Okay, this needs some clarity:
Sodium Bicarbonate, when ingested, shuts off the acid production in the stomach. So, you probably would take it before meals, exercise, then eat a meal, preferably high protein for muscle regeneration.
With no food and sodium bicarbonate shutting off your stomach's acid production, the blood flow to your digestive system is minimal, meaning, you gain a little more blood flow to muscles and brain.
If you eat sodium bicarbonate with your meals, it'll shut off your stomach acid, and your meal will sit in your stomach until the acid kicks in after the sodium bicarbonate is absorbed.

So I'm willing to say It was a coincidence because It would be too good to be true but yesterday after learning all this about BS I took around 20g of it with 4g of beta alanine for the first time (I'm 72kg) and went on to do my best 20min power on the bike - 308 watts. Before this best I could do was 291 watts for 20 min and now i did 301 watts for 25 min and felt like I could of kept going but the road was leading to a dead end so I stopped.
I feel like every video I watch from king of spades. I'm one step closer to living like Bruce Wayne.

Only problem might be the sodium loading, which ain't good for hypertension and fluid retention.
Before I even started working out, I used to take baking soda for my fibromyalgia, since I normally feel my body is on fire and it had some benefits. Off and on because it was torture dealing with the taste. Then I bought some 000 capsules and filled them. I take a capsule making sure I drink sufficient water. I don’t know if that affects absorption significantly but it’s practical for me and I can keep it up.
Also I have a little apple cider dinner off and on and I think it might help too with the good acids it contains. I happen to love the taste (especially with my salads) so it’s no issue.
Enduring the pains of an autoimmune disease is a hell compared with baking soda's taste. :D

Baking Soda is one of those amazing natural hacks everyone should have in the home. There are about 50 things you can use it for. I´ve been using it for years: just a teaspoon with water makes an excellent antibacterial mouthwash; with water and some lemon juice and it makes the best antacid you can have; or, as you say, it can act as a laxative (though I find this effect wears off after time).
I place 1/8 tsp baking soda in each cup of coffee each morning.
I find this helps with acidity. Acidity promotes muscle cramps and charley horses in the middle of the night for me.
the other thing I found is the acid of yogurt also promotes cramps to my leg muscles, but if I make my own yogurt, and strain it for a long time to make it greek style, I can eat lots, and have absolutely no problems. Removing the acidic whey makes all the difference. Even some store bought brands of greek yogurt can be a problem, maybe they don't strain for as long as I do??
I'll try to find ways to incorporate more baking soda into my daily routine, and see what happens. Thank you for this video and advice.

I'm 56 years old and although my family and grandparents used a little baking soda in their water to reduce stomach aches, I had no idea until this week that drinking a glass of water with a little baking soda actually helps your body to become more alkaline internally, helping the body to remove harmful toxins in cells and in the blood, and greatly reduces inflammation. I'm trying it now on a daily basis to see if it will eliminate my body aches and pains.

Make sure it is aluminium free, Arm and Hammer is a good one and and I would think no more than 1 teaspoon a day I only have half of a teaspoon a day.

Baking soda is high in salt though.
1 tsp of baking is 1,200 of salt x 3 = 3,600 mg.
2,300 mg is the max recommended daily allowance.
Then you must include the salt included in food today.
This is very true, yet I would suggest not to keep your body in a constant alkaline state, but rather to cycle it (as with majority of supplements). This takes care of the high sodium situation by itself.
but it does not have the same effect on the blood pressure than NaCl. but to be save you can balance it out with potassium bicarbonate

@@azreal629 don't know. maybe you research they daily need for sodium and potassium. then you have to look up how many sodium is in sodium bicarbonate and how many potassium is in potassium bitartrate and then you can calculate the ratios.

How long does it usually take for the gastric side effects to take place? An hour or less than an hour?
It mainly depends on your gastric system. There are lucky ones out there who can take 30g without any undesireable side effects but for us mere mortals, the upset in stomach will usually commence within 15 minutes or so. This is why it's wise to do serial loading of 3g three times a day for three days (you can also carry on longer). Loading doesn't give you a strong immediate effect (either positive or negative), but allows you to reap the performance benefits from the fourth day forward.

If you want your body be alkaline keep your liver in good shape and healthy because the liver is the one who controls the acidity and keep your body alkaline level on the 7 number and if you want to check your PH levels buy the PH level tester strips in Amazon.
Don't waste your time on doing all that because I already did that and if you take baking soda you are going to get the acid balance off and you are going to create stones in your kidneys.
The liver is the one that controls the acid in your stomach so trust your liver and keep it healthy as simple is that...

@@dushyantbhatt9345 Your body's natural PH is 7, everything above 7 is considered alkaline and everything below 7 is acidic. Your stomach however NEEDS to be acidic and it should be between 1-3 in order to efficiently break down protein. Taking baking soda makes your stomach acid more alkaline and you should be very careful if u take it, i dont really recoment it. In order to make your stomach more efficient you need to acidify it by taking apple cider vinegar and also do intermitent fasting. Hope that helps.

I just saw a vid baking soda vs beta alanine. He says it allmost the same effect. So its A cheaper form of beta alanine he says. Im out of preworkout and i heard about bakingsoda as a preworkout So i Tried 1teaspoon(5gr) with 500ml yango drink from the gym it tastes disgusting So i try not to taste it. It drink it during fitness and i feel diffrence in my performance. Have Tried 3days and i have no issues with it. Because its undrinkable, after the 500ml with 5gr bakingsoda i drink away 500ml with some vitamins and flavour. And keep drinking because muscles need to hydrate and flush the acid. So first 500ml is concentrate soda and the 500ml after is to flush the soda through my body. Not sure if thats good tho

@@mgbunblee hi, i decided to stop taking the beta, im just doing backing soda nowwadays. may aswell it does the same job, witout the tingles, and it costs way less. and as far as i know, we dont need to load it for a month or so, plus other benefits. backing soda is a no brainer for me lol
