  • Welcome to my channel! I share all about homeschooling for beginners. In this video, I discuss homeschool co-ops, what they are, what you can expect, and all of the different kinds.
No one should homeschool alone; that's not how it works. Everyone needs a support system. Co-ops provide friendships for your kids, and friendships for you, too.
The benefits of joining a co-op are that 1. Your kids get to meet other kids of all ages and collaborate with them in educational activities. 2. You get to meet other homeschool moms and get lots of encouragement and questions answered. 3. Your kids will get to learn things from other people besides you, because the reality is, you can’t teach your kids everything yourself, and you don’t need to. Being a part of a co-op means you can work with other homeschool parents to teach each other’s kids if you have a particular knowledge or expertise in a certain subject or topic.

Could you have a coop where you took turns being the “teacher” and dropped your kids off? If everyone was on the same page? Or is that illegal?

Not illegal at all. You can create any co-op you want.

That is exactly what I was thinking as well. An idea that I had which might be a little far-fetched is where each parent teachers a specific subject daily. If everybody lives in the proximity and takes their lunch break at different times maybe it’s not impossible
