I want to homeschool my children because school has started to gear more towards taking a test instead of preparing for the real world. I graduated in 2010 and I was NOT prepared on basic things you need to know.
With everything going on in this crazy world, i never thought I'd actually homeschool my child. I'm so excited and yet terrified because I don't want to fail them. I really needed this. Thank you so much!!
This is me too. I'm a Grandma raising my 11 yr old grandson and pulling him out of public school this Friday and will start homeschooling on Monday. I never thought I'd do this but I feel compelled. Like I am supposed to do this. Just tired of how things are going in the schools today. I am borderline excited and fearful at the same time.
I just wanted to take the time to say THANK YOU. We have been discussing homeschooling for a year or so and I haven't been brave enough to fully commit. I have been scared - totally scared. After receiving the re-entry plan that our public school just put out, I knew it was time to jump in. This whole process has been so emotional for me as I feel that so many opportunities were being taken away from my girls. Turns out, it is only giving them MORE opportunity to focus on the things that my husband and I value. The last part of your video just had me in the biggest tears. Your words finally let me feel my emotional about this exciting, yet very unexpected and unplanned journey. I needed to hear everything you said. Thank you. I look forward to learning more from you.
I have watched probably thousands of homeschool videos (over seven years of research/preparation) and I can honestly say this is one of the best out there. You're thorough but concise, earnest but not melodramatic, articulate and entertaining. You are a great addition to the YT homeschool community and I hope you continue making videos like this. 🙂 💕
My gosh, why did this make me emotional?! Thank you so much for sharing. I have a 3yr old and homeschooling have been something in the back of my head that I’ve been wanting to start but then I see homeschool IG accounts where everything looks perfect and question if I could ever do that! Everything you discussed I’m feeling! The intimidation, the doubts. I’m so glad to have come across your account. I needed this push and know that the reward I would gain would out weigh any challenges. Thank you!
I am so grateful for your Videos. I’m just starting out with my 4 year old and I am clueless on where to begin. Lol. Finding information on homeschooling when you know nothing is harder than I though it would be. Thank you!!
Thank you so much for saying that! I am working on creating even more videos this year! I also share a lot on my IG if you want to come follow along there... but for the most comprehensive help, my guide is your best bet. All the details are in the description
I'm so glad I found your channel! Looking into homeschooling my kids and looking for all the info I can find, so thanks for all your awesome info, encouragement, and honesty!!
I came across your video and I’m so glad I did. I’ll begin homeschooling my son this upcoming fall. He’ll be in the 4th grade. I have experienced every emotion. I know we will be okay but it helped to hear you say it in the video, just for reassurance. Thank you for the empowering message as well as your top 5 tips. It is really appreciated. Thank you
I'm here. Lol I start homeschooling Thursday with my son. I fortunately have help. I have my son in a homeschooling program so he goes to school twice a week at a church and they teach him the bible, Spanish and electives he can do forensics, accounting, cooking classes etc. There. then his daycare also does the same program I picked out for my son. He's a kindergartener, 5 years old. I just want to make sure I have a good routine down.
Thank you so much for making this video! I’m considering homeschooling my 7 yr old and 9 yr old this year. It’s very overwhelming and difficult to know where to start. Your video is so encouraging!
Just as a quick note, evidence generally shows that all children benefit from a mixture of all learning styles, with an emphasis on kinesthetic learning. Even if a child shows a tendency toward one learning style, everyone learns better by actually doing an activity than reading about it, hearing about it, or watching someone else doing it. I like to think of swimming as an example. You have to actually swim, you can't just figure out how to do it by reading about it.
I am super late to this video but i am so happy that you put it together. Thank you so much! I am starting homeschool and it was so encouraging in addition to providing some great information.
I, too have submitted a NOI to withdraw my 7 year old from school. I’m so terrified but also excited about what’s to come. I have no idea where to begin but we’re taking a leap of faith!
Thank you for this!! My son turned 5 a week ago and I have been STRESSING about curriculum 😩😱🤯 You've really helped put things into perspective again😅 Really really appreciate you taking the time to make this video and be so honest and so encouraging at the end there too😭❤️ xx
God bless you. I needed to hear that ending, especially today... thank you for being transparent and open with us. You are very much appreciated.. 🙏🙏🙏❤
As the World spins on it’s crazy axis and We were presented with the Pandemic 😷 I became a remote learning Mother of a Kindergartner and a Sixth grader! I fell in Love with this set-up for a numerous amount of reasons! Now that there will Not be a choice to continue helping My kids on-line (Remotely)!Safety and Health are My Biggest concerns right now during #CovidSeason I feel like they’re just throwing them back in school without thought or consideration of the Families that want to choose to Not send their Kids… #HomeSchooling is My Best option! Afraid and Excited to a start I feel it’s a Blessing in disguise! Thank You for this video!
Thank for your video. I was wondering if you could make a video about what it looks like to homeschool a preschooler. I would like to get my toes wet by starting to teach my 2 year old.
Hello, I came across your video and I am so happy I did! We are starting to homeschool our 5 year old twins. We live in Miami. Can you share more info and contact about the co-ops you do in this area? This is something I am looking for my girls too so we can complement our work. I will study the links you have shared. Still need to figure out the curriculum part ;). Your video has put me at ease and reinforces our purpose. Thank you.
Hi there, I'm so happy you did too! We do not live in Miami, so I cannot share any co-ops for that area, but I can suggest as a resource. You can also visit my Amazon Shop for more info on curriculum . Thank you for reaching out, so glad it brought you comfort and confidence, yogurt this mama!!! Diana
I’m looking to home school my children because they both have special needs, but not to the point of qualifying for special education; and teachers are so overwhelmed and understaffed as it is that I worry about my children getting what they need. Plus schools are following a “one size fits all” approach and I know I didn’t do well with that, and same goes for my children.
I really want to homeschool my kids because public school just isn’t for us, but I’m a single mom so I’m worried about finances, childcare and having time to do homeschooling. My daughter is too old for daycare and I don’t like daycares anyway too.
Hi I'm really trying to homeschool they are now in school I have a 4 and 6 grader and I'm so scared to do this but really want to. everyone makes it sound so easy 😭
Hello, yes I need help English is my second language. Am having panic attacks, my 5 year old has asthma and I have a 8 years old that. I don’t want to send them to school, am also a student in college and work part time. I need to do homeschool for my kids. I don’t know where to Star.
I wanted to ask, in your experience could a home school parent whose primary language is not English be successful homeschooling? I have learned English but I am not proficient. I'm concerned I am not qualify to teach them effectively.
Yes, with the right curriculum and online tools you can still be successful. You could also bring on an online tutor for English. We use GoPeer for our language tutoring. Here's an article I wrote on Teaching Kids a New Language: www.thegrayruby.com/fun-ways-to-teach-your-kids-a-new-language/ and a 7-day Free Trial and $20 tutoring credit with this link: gopeer.org/? You will do great!!!!
I am going to homeschool an upcoming 5th and 12th grader for the first time this 2021-2022 school year. I renewed my 5th grader’s registration with his campus before deciding to homeschool and my 12th grader I was able to state on his registration renewal that he will not be returning to the school district due to homeschooling. My question is for my 5th grader is it better to do the formal withdrawal before the end of the school year? And for my 12th grader do I still need to do a formal letter? If so, when?
Hi there! Happy for you and your homeschool journey. I hope to post some more content here soon that might help you with some ideas. To your question, I have never put my children in public school so I am not familiar with the process of withdrawal. I would check your school district website, as it should state the process.
WARNING this video may change your life haha. From a father's point of view this video is on point! If you enjoyed this video as much as I did I'd recommend looking at this newer post as well. ruclips.net/video/iWQazKRL22M/видео.html thank me later 😎

Sticking to the structure is hardest part for our family. We love to implement learning into everything but having a set time is nice too.
Absolutely!! We struggle too. I think it really depends on the season. We are definitely more flexible now
