    Some unsolicited thoughts-notice you do carry a few angelwax products. After years of experimentation with various compounds, I’ve landed on Angelwax Regenerate-can one stage most corrections as it has both cutting and polishing (slow pass with pressure, quick pass no pressure). Heavier corrections with long nap MF discs (I like oberk). It’s almost magical how much better it works than others. I’m sure you’ve come across it-worth another look in your pursuit of functional excellence 😊.

    FWIW, regarding your concern about it being easy to remove, which may indicate a lack of longevity, IMHO Optimum Opti-Glass is easier to remove than H2GO, and it *probably* has much better longevity. (it should, according to each manufacturer's specs). Some folks say Opti-Glass is difficult, but I found it exceptionally easy.

    I'm giving H2GO another "go" - it hasn't lasted long at all previously, however it may have been due to me using a very strong IPA solution for general cleaning, after application. I'm now using 2% for glass cleaning. Could have been poor prep too. I've just tried Optimum Opti-Glass - not hydrophobic enough for my taste. It too didn't last long at all (weeks, not months). The point at which one feels the need to reapply is of course highly subjective. Also, I do high miles, and clean VERY frequently, and thoroughly. (chauffeur driver). H2GO is definitely very hydrophobic straight after application - no problems there.

    • @gregsullivan7408
      @gregsullivan7408 5 лет назад

      Another thing that may be reducing my longevity is the amount of buffing I do (after cleaning), to remove streaking. Occasionally, I'll use my wipers (with a squirt) when I notice that I hadn't removed the streaks, and the wipers seem to do a very good job. So I'm going to try some kind of flexible rubber blade - maybe a standard glass squeegee, but if they're not flexible enough, an actual wiper blade. This is for the final stage of streak removal only - not cleaning.

    • @gregsullivan7408
      @gregsullivan7408 5 лет назад

      Tried using a wiper blade (with carrier) - didn't work well. Sticking with cloths for now.

    Hey Matt, I have a question, when it rains and i use my wipers there seems to be what looks like a film or resin on the windscreen, it's focused on the portion the wiper blades hit. I've tried glass cleaner, optimum power clean, alcohol, and glass compound/polish. Nothing seems to work, so my question is what are your thoughts? Yes I replaced the wiper blades.

    • @gregsullivan7408
      @gregsullivan7408 5 лет назад

      @@XxVendetaxX1 if it goes away after a few seconds (after each wiper stroke), I just accept that kind of thing as normal imperfections. If it stays there longer, and is causing enough of a problem to affect safety, it definitely needs to be addressed. Re the glass polish, if you haven't already, try applying it by hand, but really REALLY scrub firmly, but test first on an inconspicuous area, to make sure the applicator & polish combo won't scratch. (I learnt the hard way that kitchen scourers can scratch, for example). Maybe also consider taking it to a specialist glass polisher for assessment.
