Oh my goodness. I took your advice and bought the right size for my 2700 psi, 2.5 rpm Honda pressure washer. I had just washed my patio about 2 moths ago so it wasn't really dirty at all - or so I thought. I wanted to try this new nozzle so I hooked it up and it took me about 1/3 the time to clean that patio as it did with the 25° tip PLUS it took off dirt I didn't eve realize was there. What a godsend to anyone who uses pressure washers.
I got going and cleaned the mold and mildew off the wood privacy fence on one side of the yard as well. Works like magic!

I like the turbo nozzles but here's a word of caution: Don't use them on delicate surfaces like car bodies or other painted surfaces or even softwood. It busts that stuff up pretty quickly. I usually use the turbine nozzle on harder surfaces and the underside of my mower decks, 15 deg. on the underside of my mowers and some types of wood and the other nozzles I may use to wash cars or painted equipment.

    1. It has a short no nonsense intro.

    3. Speaker is clear and articulate.
    4. Content is concise and to the point.
    5. Information is illustrated with imagery.

Well I guess I differ in my experience. I have found you need the psi to run the rotary nozzle. On a washer with 2500 psi I found that all you got was a 'pencil line' in the dirt. I believe a 3200 psi machine at a minimum is necessary to have the power to clean the whole 'cone' rather than leave individual trace lines. The gallons per minute needs to also be at the higher end of the power spectrum. To really see good performance I used one on a diesel 4500 psi machine and that was impressive. And yes the rotary tip I used was rated for the machines I used them on. However I believe the manufacturers exaggerate the performance and spectrum of their tips in many cases to sell more. I still have the small one on the shelf as it wasn't worth using.

I have one of those and it works pretty well. I love that buzzing sound they make. It reminds me of the rocket sounds on old 1950's scifi movies.
BUT! Something I discovered last year that seems to clean the concrete decks just as well and covers more space is one of those rotary deck cleaners. The one I bought at Home Depot has small bristles around the edge and when your running it with the pressure washer, it hovers over the concrete as it cleans.
I mainly use it on the pool deck.

Please emphasize that those turbo nozzles are really a zero tip. It will cut flesh like a scalpel. Not to be fussed with! Also, it will carve the snot out of wood if held too close to the surface.
Also, wear some eye protection when using a turbo tip. That critter throws debris in all directions! And grit in the eye slows down beer consumption!
    Be safe !

If you don't, then the Block Paviers will move and you'll have a wonky path. Purchased one of these after my dewalt surface cleaner would no longer spin because the bushing exploded, hoping that the simpler design of a turbo nozzle will do the job. I also ordered a Karcher surface cleaner to replace it since it has ball bearings instead, I hope between the two of these I can keep my patio, driveway, and brick sidewalk clean. The right tools for the job definitely saves time and water.

the reason your nozzle and drone fans appear to spin slow has to do with the frame rate of the camera; at normal speed your camera takes 24 still pictures per second and when you play them back at 24 frames per second our eyes view it as continuous (even though its just several still photos), however when you record something that's rotating, it will appear to look slower or even stationary when the rotational speed aligns with the 24 pictures; so when the rotation is 24 revolutions per second it will look stationary, similarly when the rotation a multiple of 24 (48, 72, 96, and so on) it will also appear to look stationary because every time the photo is taken the rotary piece is back in the same place as it was for the previous photo. Hope that makes sense! Keep up the great work Steve!

I've been using these for decades and they pay for themselves on the first job you use them on, but, be careful on wood siding or decks, as they will rip the shit out of softer surfaces leaving big swirl marks in the blink of an eye. Also, vinyl decking wont survive them either, so use the standard least aggressive tip from a distance with a soft boat brush for problem areas. Love your channel Steve, I've learned a lot !

It’s a 3500 psi which matched my machine. It is amazing and fast but will do incredible damage if you’re not careful. It will cut holes in wood, dig dirt by the bucket full and dent your gutters (found this out myself 😕). Please wear shoes and eye protection. It will ruin your day if it hits your skin (my neighbor found this out, I warned him, it took stitches). Great tool though. Cuts my time in half. Be careful!

On my power washer ,when its running if l let go of trigger it will shut down automatically. And create a pressure lock until l let water through the nozzle and have to start it with the trigger wide open.l asked a small engine guy why it does not use bypass valve any more and he said it was probably from having a water softener and salt build up in unit.said not worth replacing unit .l put clr in the line before water to try and clean out insides when l start it up each year but still have to have water through the nozzle when srarting it up and dont let off till l am done by shutting off engine.its works great other than not using bypass valve.

I've used them for many years and have a few tips. After using it spray in some WD40 with the connector facing up so the cheap steel ball inside does not rust up and get stuck, #2, They sell a filter that you can connect right to the nozzle, to keep trash out of the nozzle. Since I've done these two things I have not had to buy a new one every year because the ball was stuck. Use caution when using one! I've blown a hole in a fiberglass boat, and tore up an old deck when first learning how to use one.

Great video, Steve!!! The reason the video shows that slow spinning motion is because of the video camera Frame Rate, in Frames Per Second, or fps. There are many frame rates among video cameras, so the speed seen of anything rotating in a video is a combination of the speed of rotation of the item and the fps of the video camera. A video is taken in still image frames of rates like 30 fps and 60 fps, with speeds below 30 fps, between, and maybe above 60 fps. When the two rates are the same, for example, a car tire rim's rotation speed and the camera's fps, the rotating wheel spokes will appear to stand still. As the speed of the wheel changes, the seen speed in the video will, too. Since very fast rotations of things like power tools and the rotary nozzle are well beyond 60 fps, the still images taken at 60 fps will be different and the apparent speed seen in the video is untrue. Then there's harmonics of speeds that may also make something rotating as fast as the rotary nozzle stream appear to stand still. As the speed is either slightly faster or slower than the harmonic, the video will appear to turn slowly, let's say clockwise for faster and counterclockwise for slower. The same is true of something rotating slightly faster or slower than the camera's fps rate. That spinning rotary cone could appear to barely spin.

(THAT is a silent testimonial) I also had read that the half price versions are the usual cheap Chinese knock-offs made in China with cheap Chinese materials that don't work very well or don't work at all right out of the box. I don't know if that is true but for the extra few bucks, I'm not taking chances.

I bought a turbo nozzle from Amazon for 16.99$ It's blue in color. It is rated for 4000 psi at 3.0 gpm. My electric washer is 3800psi at 1.75 gpm. I did my entire driveway, walkways, sidewalk and curb. Over six hours of constant use and it was flawless. It turned my dark grey concrete to brilliant white. Needed sunglasses to look at it afterwards! I found six inches from concrete is best height. it fans out to be ineffective any higher than that.

So the reason the nozzle looks like it is slowly moving is a strobe effect. If you have ever used a strobe light to watch something spinning at crazy speeds you know how this works. Your camera is taking pictures at a fixed frequency. The spray might turn 10 or 100 times but gets its picture taken just slightly out of sync, so it appears to move just slowly. Same reason wagon wheels in old westerns sometimes appear to turn backwards. It’s a cool effect.

Dude! I was “just searching” how to clean an outdoor rug….and Your Video came up🙆🏻‍♂️ I just bought used Honda 3000 psi to blast the underside of my truck - before I Undercoat it with a Linseed Oil/Mineral Spirits combo.
The guy I bought the p/w from Insisted I go get a Turbo Washer(that’s what they’re called in Buffalo anyways) and…hope it works on the porch rug? I did buy an Algae Cleaner Soap when I bought the nozzle - so…I’m wondering if I should Pre-soak the moss - cover rug prior to blasting it🤔
Anyways - ALWAYS Love your Videos👍🏼👍🏼

The camera effect that makes you see the propeller and the turbo nozzle look as though they are in slow motion is called the stroboscopic effect and has to do with the frames per minute of the camera video vs the speed ot the propeller or water stream or whatever. When they match up just right ist like when a strobe light, as in a timing light, stops the motion in the video for an instant allowing you to see the object in motion as if it was stopped.

Good old South Pacific safety crocs on display, lol. @Jim Pikul nailed it, nasty buggers. The circular wheelie brushy things are very effective for large areas. The turbo nozzle will pluck a turkey at 10 paces.

Great video Steve ! I did not know that just tipping it down would get it started, I would always smack it on the ground to get it going. It works really great for knocking the mud off my log truck and it doesn't blow it back at you like with the other nozzles. Thanks man and get after that beer before it gets warm !

Those pavers need sand in between them to keep the bricks in place and the walkway stable. It’s okay to clean it that way but critical to replace with playground sand. Really hard to fix once bricks start to move. And if you leave the space empty it will just fill with seeds and the weeds will grow back twice as fast. It can completely ruin the walk way

You should put some paving sand in between the pavers of that walkway. It will help keep grass and ice from moving the pavers out of place.

Hey Steve, your video camera is probably set to 24 frames per second (fps). This is why the water jet "seems" to be turning slowly. If you increase the number of fps high enough, then the recording of the motion will be closer to what our eyes perceive. Hope this helps and thanks again for your good tips.

Steve, YOU are where the handy guy's head is at. Thinking I 'm a handy guy wannabe. It looks like I have been using a 5100psi T. nozzle instead of a 2500psi that I have. Low PSI nozzle for 5 years NO WONDER that I was using the white tip most of the time! Thanks for telling us to look a little harder at the toys we buy for ourselves. Anybody want a paperweight or trade a 2500 psi for a 5100 psi? Cheers. Oh, and this one says Italy on it. Lovely. $30 new. ouch.
