I like that y’all filmed testing out some different products like normal people and was troubleshooting as you went. It was like hanging out with my husband and his buddies. I don’t know why people on the internet expect everyone to be professionals in every video they post. I appreciate the video!
The foam cannons on Amazon that are roughly 10 bucks are far more efficient with soap and still give you that heavy snow like covering with cheap concentrate soap. I use it to clean my buggy.
I know a few of the sxs family has mentioned chemical guys. Their product does a good job for the foam gun. I power wash it off like you did, hit it with the foam gun let it sit, rinse it off, then hit it again and wash mit it. It really does a good job and takes about 30-40 min to clean my 110. Thanks for the video guys. I really love your channel! Both the parts channel and the blog channel. Keep it up thanks a lot!
I went out and purchased the Ryobi foam cannon after I watched this and 3 months in and it’s working great. Tip to preserve the soap is to set the handle adjustment 3/4 of the way
Hey guys, just my two cents here. Firstly great job on the comparison testing. Here are my opinions on all of it. 1. Pressure washers are fantastic used with knowledge but used incorrectly with the wrong tip they do more long term damage than good. Specifically water and debris get forced into places and cause rust and a myriad of electrical issues. 2. Rotating power brushes are a fantastic idea but they always fail. 3. Foam blasters are very satisfying to look at, makes you think it's really doing something. Must be! Look at all that foam! Meh..4. Turbo nozzles used on anything other than for aggressive stripping are a serious no no. Even though it is a royal PITA there is nothing that replaces intricate well thought out hand detail work. This is all coming to you from a 30 plus year mechanic and power sports enthusiast. Anyway, keep up the good work and sillynous! Love watching you guys and all of your informative shenanigans!
The $15 foam cannon from Amazon on a 2500 psi washer with purple power boat cleaning soap does an excellent job. Works best when applied to dry surface. There's different turbo tips for certain PSI washers. I use the $20 black turbo tip Walmart brand. Warning turbo tips on the right washer can cut hoses, wires, and paint if the nozzle gets to close. Good luck
Option 4: Steve, I'd let Steve wash my rig anytime! I start with a foam cannon, then do it by hand to follow. I'm not a fan of pressure washing my suspension because I don't want to force water into the bushings and such, so I either turn the pressure down or just use the garden hose to get the big stuff off before I foam it
You guys should try Slick Products with that foam cannon. See if it works better. Would be a good video doing a full detail. Plus a vid after a good muddy rip and see how easy it is to clean after. Keep up the great content!
Haha found your channel couple weeks ago, you guys are great... Here's a tip I use to use with my mud ATV.... Pressure wash the mud off, let it dry a little, spray (stp son of gun) all over the machine even under.... Let the foam pull the mud off for a few minutes the use the water hose and spray the rest off.... Simple and fast...
Great video to test different washing products. The best thing is that you guys are testing them on mud toys 🤙🏼. It’s good to see this so now I know what’ll be good for my vehicle. Good luck boys!!
For future reference. No matter what type of soap you use (make sure it’s a high foam formula though) put 1-2 maybe even 3 oz. of soap in the foam cannon then fill it with water the rest of the way. That’s how your actually supposed to fill it. And even after using the foam cannon, i always use the 2 bucket method with soap and a microfiber mit
The key to less hands on washing is prepping the surface BEFORE you get it dirty. I’ve tried several products but SC1 is the best by far! The silicone in that stuff causes all dirt to release under regular hose pressure and using the power washer under the fenders to get the tougher stuff. You still have to use some friction in fenders and suspension but not much. No replacing manual labor there...lol.
The rotating nozzle it's meant for concrete and hard surfaces it can and will peel of paint if you put it close to the paint... As for the foam cannon get a better one bigger capacity and use chemical guys foam soap diluted with warm water.. And the rotating brush you just know that any brush that touches your paint will destroy it over time specially at that speed so it's a big no no... Nothing beats a rinse > foam cannon > two bucket mitt wash > rinse > pressured air dry
Great timing guys, have been looking off and on. Completed my first and only run on my Xmr before heading back overseas. Did not have a pressure washer at the time, ole hand washing...fricken took me longer than washing our built JKU. Looking now, thank you as well as all the great suggestions here!
I hope yall read this. If only one person tries it id be happy. But the works awesome. Spray down with super clean purple bottle. Used to be called casteral super clean. Spray down half the machine at a time go back with pressure washer. Any where it touches WILL BE CLEAN like you wiped it with rag. Its unbelievable how it makes tires look brand new. On trucks cars what ever im not sponsored plain ole country boy from arkansas, trying to make it. You will not be disappointed. Hope everyone tries it.
The soap foam way is used by detail guys. I've seen it take years off of the underside of trucks. Yes they do hand wash it after but the foam they use takes the road grime off
I think the trick for this is use the foam cannon with some good quality soap (I use chemical guys) and then use the brush. It sucks the brush broke but any brush would work. This is what I do and I always get compliments on my detail jobs.
I use regular ole pressure washer with 25* nozzle to knock most of the dirt off. Then come back with a foam cannon, while the soap is on grab a mit, run over the machine real quick, rinse off, foam again let sit for a few minutes then final rinse and dry with a towel. Depending on level of muddy, takes me about an hour or two to get it all done.
I do hydro excavation and we use the roto tip as our God send. I'm not sure about washing but it does have power you just have to be close. It's great for digging.
I pressure-wash the mud off, then I take a pump sprayer with a 50/50 mix of Simple Green and water, and I spray every inch of my machines down, then I let it sit for a couple of minutes and hit them with the pressure washer again and they come out looking new. Well, unless you have scratches of course. But there's no scrubbing needed.
You have to hand wash even after using the foam cannon. Period. I don’t know who told you not to hand wash but that’s crazy. Also, get you a real foam cannon. That one you have is too small. I mix 20% soap and 80% hot water. It will usually do my x3 twice before emptying. But you have to have the flow turned all the way down (at least on my cannon) turning the flow both conserves the quantity of the foam and gives you a nice thick foam. Hot water is the key to a clean machine
I work at a semi truck wash and we’re touchless we use foam cannons it doesn’t have to be scrubbed if you use the right soap our soaps are eco friendly and rip off the road film I wash dump trucks to over the road truckers I see it all varieties and brushes are dead in this industry also if you use soft water you don’t get spots it’s amazing how far soap has come chemical guys soap is garbage any soap you can buy off the shelf is garbage I didn’t believe in touchless washing till I started working here truely amazing

The pressure washer will ONLY draw soap with the LOW PRESSURE soap Nozzle (Usually Black). Your spinning brush has too much pressure to draw from your soap source.
Yeah I've got a mi-T-M washer from Sherwin-Williams and I had to ruin one injector to figure it out. I use dawn & outdoor bleach to powerwash houses and walks. My mistake was not flushing the injector when I was done. There's a ball bearing and a tiny spring inside, that bleach disintegrated the spring. I found out when I was correcting my mistake that the do make high pressure injectors. Your oscillating tip must have been messed up or maybe your washer just doesn't have enough "juice" to make it work properly. The first time I used one on my car I blew the pinstripes off it. Probably best you didn't figure it out. Maybe you just needed to screw down your unloader valve. The "turbo" head is basically a spinning waterjet without the garnett. The other thing is that they should always be started pointed down so that little spinning 0tip inside doesn't slam into the outer shell and ruin it.
Great comparison of some of the different products available. Without these tests, there is no way of knowing what works best without breaking the bank. I work in the livestock industry and have used many different washer attachments and soaps. A common misconception is pressure vs volume of water. A pressure washer that produces over 5 gpm @ 2000 psi will easily outperform one that produces 2 gpm @ 3500 psi. If anyone is in the market to buy a new pressure washer, look for a combination of pressure and volume. The same can be said for the attachments. The turbo nozzle or dirt blaster you purchased was likely rated for higher gpm, which is why it didn't perform very well. The ones we have are never used to wash a vehicle unless you want to peel the paint or be left with awesome swirl marks. And be prepared for a workout.......you wouldn't believe the amount of push they have. As always, keep posting these informative videos. We all appreciate what you're doing.
Funny I tried all that same 💩. Foam blaster and a mit works for me. Also use low pressure gun with simple green to keep that motor/suspension shining when I'm feeling fancy. It also cleans the black plastic good
I use a 50/50 Simple Green and water dilution in my foam cannon, washing all the big mud off beforehand. I'll scrub a little on the tough spots with a soft car wash brush, and maybe gently on the harnesses if they are dirty. Then, I rinse well with pressure washer. To get a spot free finish, I'll use my leaf blower to get all the big water off, and may run a clean towel or rag over the cage and exterior plastics. Some guys on the FB groups say they use Tide laundry soap, or a mix of Tide and Simple Green in their foam cannons. Not sure if this increases suds or is supposed to cut grime. However, I do know that the Tide that you buy today doesn't suds up like the Tide when we were kids...
Pretty much the best stuff and the cheapest stuff for the foam gun, is just normal dish soap because it last longer and it comes out pretty thick and actually stays foamy on the vehicle for a while, we’ve used it many times with with completely muddy trucks and dirt bikes, and dish soap in the foam gun works amazing
Turbo nozzles will destroy seals and stickers if u get close. Rule of thumb with pressure washer if it hurts your hand at a certain distance it can hurt your machine. I use foam blaster a few times let it sit and foam again and again never let it dry then mit and rinse my favorite way. Love the channel pretty entertaining especially when my sxs's are stored away for winter.
I foam cannon my xp1000 with tough mudder and a mit in the more tough stained spotts then simoniz tire foam the entire unit helps with the next wash! Picked that tip up from ostacruiser
Just some things to note from my experience. The turbo brush probably works best on a "soap" or "rinse" low pressure setting. I'm sure the cleated ring didn't like you two fingering the trigger The zep may have been a pressure washing soap. Carwash soaps have a lot more sulfates which cause a lot more foam. Pressure wash (and carpet shampooers) soap are designed to not foam too much. The turbo nozzle is a great piece to have as it takes the strongest tip attachment (needle/0 degree setting) and spins it around giving you a much higher pressure wash efficiency. Keep in mind this was the only product you used WITHOUT any soap
It's low pressure that flos the soap in majority of pressure washers. That's why the soap tip is usually a quite larger opening than the regular pressure tips
Chemical Guys Mr Pink works great in a cannon. Bleach White from dollar general works awesome on tires. Grease Lightening works really good on mud. We use baby oil on dirt race cars on the inside panels and wash with greased lighting the next day. Hardly no work washing. Baby oil is really good in areas where you can’t easily get to. Dirt just falls off.
The high pressure spinning nozzle I have will take the damn paint off of stuff if I'm not careful (took some paint off of my friends house when i was testing it). I love that thing. The one I got came with the pressure washer. I also use a foam cannon. I'm sure you can get a foam cannon with a fitting on the end so you could use both. ;)
You're on the right track but using the wrong ZEP. Try the ZEP truck and trailer wash 12.8pH also known as ZEP TNT in the foam cannon. Let sit for 5-6 minutes but reapply if needed to keep it wet. Don't let it dry out or it will leave a film on glass. Mix in a pump sprayer at 2:1 for super nasty jobs.
The downstream soap injector only works under low pressure. The rotary brush uses high pressure to spin the brush, so the siphon won't pull the soap. That's why the only tip you can use the soap injector with is the black soap tip. It's a low pressure tip
Imagine what might happen if you half way kinda read directions. Sky’s the limit. Also the good foam cannons are awesome to soap down, then mitt down, then rinse. Foam cannon added into standard wash cuts time in half.
When I bought my turbo nozzle there was many to choose from with different pressures I bought one that matched my pressure washer which is a Honda 13 horse 5000 psi four and a half gallons and it does a hell of a good job
Pro foam cannon mud tip, mix tide laundry detergent and simple green together in the bottle, the mud will literally fall off and your sxs will look brand new
Still need a once over with a mit with a foam canon. The thick foam helps to suspend all the grime and protect the paint. Chemical guy Mr pink or honeydew will make some good foam. Few oz then fill the rest with warm water and you will get better results.
I've bought an old Hotsy 550ss heated pressure washer for $300. Mine is only 1500psi electric but I crank the diesel fuel fired heater to 200F and it works fanfreakintastic. I actually turn the pressure down to around 900psi and just let the heat do it thing. Mud, grease, bugs, etc peel right off. Being an electric driven pump it's very quiet and as long as you remember drain the water from the heater coil in the winter very durable also. I have a 100' hose and roll the unit just outside my shop (to vent the diesel exhaust) and can reach both of my SxS's while they're still on the trailer. I was talked into it by a friend and doubted I'd like it, now I wouldn't be without it. Landa is another quality heated pressure washer.
Here's the best mix for the foam cannon: 1/3 zep, 1/3 tide, 1/3 dish soap. Spray it on, let it sit for a couple minutes and spray it off. Works really well for thick nasty mud.
I tried to use the turbo nozzle on my Polaris ranger, and instantly stopped. It started to tear the decals off the second it touched them. Wasnt happy. Guess I’m going to be shopping around for a foam cannon now! Thanks guys
It seems like the foam cannon would work at a lower psi, just enough to get it on there and soak. The high pressure puts more water in the mix and it just runs off. It seems like videos where they use a low pressure electric unit get good solid foam coverage that doesn’t run off. Then you could final rinse with the power washer?
When you use the foam attachment start the foam from the bottom and go up. Yes it's the opposite of how your supposed to wash but the foam breaks down and pulls the dirt in it. Basically lifting the dirt. So by the time you make it to the top you can start rinsing it off along with the dirt. When it's all gone then go top to bottom with one last rinse.
I've used the turbo nozzle (it came with my pressure washer) and foam cannon. Honestly I like them both. My Wolverine is white so gotta get that clean. 🤣
They have certain soaps that you dilute and they are specially made to foam up, that zep soap isnt supposed to be shot thru a foam cannon And they have foam cannons with like 3-4 times the size of a reservoir for the water/soap premix. But that foam blaster, doesn’t sacrifice the pressure that you lose with a foam cannon
Running that quick connect with nothing connected will blow that o-ring right out, also you will only get soap to siphon out via venturi effect with low pressure so a bigger nozzle hole size. Typically black nozzle on most power washers. Other than that nice side by sides.
$40 for that spinning toy?? Wow. Great video though! I haven't read any of the comments below yet, but I'd bet $$$ that the bulk of them would have given the win to the cannon before viewing. I love mine (but I don't use my Crown Vic for off-roading either. 😁) Keep up the great work guys1
I just purchase the Ryobi foam cannon works pretty good. Runs through some soap. Looks like when y’all filled it you do 4oz of soap and 4oz of water in the bottle last alittle longer. I tried chemical guys soap didn’t work to great.
You should try SC1 New Bike In A Can before you ride. Coat the entire car in it except the windshields. It is a silicone spray that prevents mud from even sticking. I apply it after washing and once it's dry.
I mud my teryx and it gets thick. I use a 4000 psi pressure washer and a green tip to rinse the heavy stuff as you did. The I pump spray purple power on it and let it set for 10 minutes. Then i rerinse with green tip then spray everything except plastics with wd40. Never hand wash and it still looks new
I know one product that you might be interested in is Top Coat F11. Clean your side X side really good and let dry then apply this stuff to everything and wiping it in until it is dry, a little mist and wipe dry with the clothes they send with it. Apply to wheels, engines parts and body even windshield because this stuff sheds water. The next time you you ride and get all muddy it just rinses right off. Apply to your on vehicles especially the windshield and windows cause it sheds water better than Rain-X.
I work in excavating and we use turbo nozles on our vac machines to turn dirt into mud but we run 3500ish psi but a much higher volume of water and the sound that the water makes coming out of the nozle has a deeper tone
Not sure about that brand of turbo nozzle but the one I got from lowes (Few years ago) is a BEAST ! It will rip anything off. Just looking at the stream of the one you have looks off. With that said I would NOT Use one for your side by sides. If it was a good quality one it would of pealed those decals right off your machines. It will also rip the seats and anything soft up. It is not really meant for vehicle care. They may say they are but you will do more damage than good. Again this is dependent on the quality of the Turbo nozzle. The one I have will bore holes through wood, (Standard Pressure washer not industrial) After watching this though I will have to pick up a foam cannon, That thing looks pretty sweet !
Back in the day many many moons ago are used to spray my quad down with Pledge all of the plastic parts. Suspension engine and everything else I would use WD-40 on. When I come home after riding it wash it off with soap and water and then sprayed down again when I would put it away. Spray it down again just before I would go out and body it up again.
I use Zep Truck and Trailer wash in my foam cannon. NAPA sells it. And it works AMAZING. I FOAM IT twice and then just powerless with no scrubbing and it keeps all my vehicles shining!!!!
I bought the Ryobi and was unhappy with it for the price. It wanted you to mix that soap 50/50. It would have had less foam. Replaced with cheap Amazon cannon and it works so much better.
Nothing replaces friction, pressure or elbow grease for cleaning! Unless your dealing with mineral deposit build up which becomes a PH battle. These guys mentioned the key, gimmicks. Fun fact, Foam cannons hit the automotive market back in the 90’s with the same current effect...WOW! Once consumers pulled back the wool from their eyes, they realized the resources they were wasting. By all means, plz support the gimmick industry if you choose, but I must mention how thoroughly entertaining it is watching my neighbors drag out all their “cleaning gear” to arrive at the same result I do.
The third one they showed is meant for or the idea of it came from hydro digging you can dig holes in the ground with it so of course it takes mud off easily paint and some plastics and stickers/wrap
MTM foam canon and Adam's car shampoo will get you thick, shaving cream like, clinging foam with that pressure washer. Adam's car shampoo is PH neutral so if you dont have time or decide not to dry it will drastically minimize the water spots.
I use honest wash Mud Cutter concentrate in my foam cannon. The stuff is about $20/gallon. You use 2-4 oz in the bottle then fill the rest with water. It works great and it's cheap. Get up to 64 washes out of one gallon for $20
Energy taken in the spin process is wasted energy in turbo nozzles means they just don't work, I find the flat spray of a normal nozzle way better at controlling dirt wash away too, plus cover g a wider spray with each pass, making it less labour intensive. Turbo nozzles tend to spread dirt back over cleaner parts of the vehicle/surface.. Good for flakey paint stripping on things tho ✌️
Chemical Guys Snow Foam 1-2oz and fill the rest of the cannon with water and it’s thick af and works great.

Haha saw this after I posted about having to use the the wash nozzle lol
Awesome video, I am now subscribed. Three years later lol!
Funny I tried all that same 💩. Foam blaster and a mit works for me. Also use low pressure gun with simple green to keep that motor/suspension shining when I'm feeling fancy. It also cleans the black plastic good
DoonDood 23 simple green with trash metal and end up making look bad. Be careful. I love the stuff but it’s too harsh on a lot of stuff.
Nice to see a non-shill review of a product on youtube. Thanks for quality content sxsblog bros. Subscribed.
I found turbo nozzle great for sidewalks. Never tried on any vehicles.
you shouldn't, way too aggresive
Only if you want to strip of your paint.
I use cheap liquid laundry detergent in my foam cannon . Never had any problems and it also leaves a nice sent 😊
I use a turbo nozzle and it works really good however it blow's my stickers off
Love the new channel! You guys are the best!
i like vids like this!! useful and universal stuff for everyone...thanks guys
I'm sure the cleated ring didn't like you two fingering the trigger
The zep may have been a pressure washing soap.
Chemical Guys Maxi Suds cherry scent works awesome, barely 2oz and fill the rest with water using a cheap foam cannon and it works awesome!
Def. the best way to do it. Hot water or steam is the cats meow for sure! You got a great deal for $300!
The turbo nozzle is great for pressure washing wood fence or concrete. Nice vid.
Slick off road wash. Best stuff on the market. Adjustable foam cannon makes the soap last longer. I go around my 2500 HD twice
Fill your foam blaster with half zep degreaser and half tide laundry detergent. I spray it right on the mud and it just melts off. Works great!
Here's the best mix for the foam cannon: 1/3 zep, 1/3 tide, 1/3 dish soap. Spray it on, let it sit for a couple minutes and spray it off. Works really well for thick nasty mud.
Ye Olde Ruckas dont use tide or dish soap on car paint unless you want to strip off any protectant/sealant/wax.
The Turbo tip and the foam cannon is what I use to clean my car when it gets muddy
They have certain soaps that you dilute and they are specially made to foam up, that zep soap isnt supposed to be shot thru a foam cannon
And they have foam cannons with like 3-4 times the size of a reservoir for the water/soap premix. But that foam blaster, doesn’t sacrifice the pressure that you lose with a foam cannon
I use that exact turbo nozzle and it works great for driveways
The turbo nozzle is best for flat surfaces
Running that quick connect with nothing connected will blow that o-ring right out, also you will only get soap to siphon out via venturi effect with low pressure so a bigger nozzle hole size. Typically black nozzle on most power washers. Other than that nice side by sides.
$40 for that spinning toy?? Wow.
Great video though! I haven't read any of the comments below yet, but I'd bet $$$ that the bulk of them would have given the win to the cannon before viewing. I love mine (but I don't use my Crown Vic for off-roading either. 😁)
Keep up the great work guys1
I just purchase the Ryobi foam cannon works pretty good. Runs through some soap. Looks like when y’all filled it you do 4oz of soap and 4oz of water in the bottle last alittle longer. I tried chemical guys soap didn’t work to great.
The foam cannon was pretty impressive but tbh just the first rinse would probably be fine for me!
Leonardo spills the box ! It cracks me up everytime!
You should try SC1 New Bike In A Can before you ride. Coat the entire car in it except the windshields. It is a silicone spray that prevents mud from even sticking. I apply it after washing and once it's dry.
Obsessed Garage for all the soap/cleaning products. Matt know's all, but overall great video guys!
I mud my teryx and it gets thick. I use a 4000 psi pressure washer and a green tip to rinse the heavy stuff as you did. The I pump spray purple power on it and let it set for 10 minutes. Then i rerinse with green tip then spray everything except plastics with wd40. Never hand wash and it still looks new
Those turbo nozzles work really well for vacuum excavation around utilitys...
Also the dewalt turbo nozzles seem to last the longest. And useing one in literal dirt to make holes is about as rough a life as those things get
I have a de Walt turbo nozzle I use on driveways and houses it is absolutely amazing it takes on anything
The one I have will bore holes through wood, (Standard Pressure washer not industrial)
After watching this though I will have to pick up a foam cannon, That thing looks pretty sweet !
No scrubbing whatsoever eh?
Check out Slick Products. You can wash the full machine with 4oz of their off-road wash and foam cannon. Started using it this year and I’m impressed.
The spiral nozzle is for a small electric pressure washer
