I've had 3 or 4 electric pressure washers of different manufacturers, and each one had this exact issue, from almost brand new. This is starting to look very much like a feature and not a bug.

Huge help! I was about to go replace it, and never thought to tinker with it and take it apart. Just ran outside to test your cleaning strategy, and of course it worked, and spent an addictive hour power washing anything in sight. TY TY TY!

You’re telling me this whole time I’ve been cranking down on the end thinking I will loosen it some point but all I was doing is tightening it!! Ugh! And thank you! I have a different manufacturer pressure washer and was getting ready to pay $30+ for a new nozzle since I couldn’t get the existing one to come apart. Again, thank you!

Wow! I had exactly the same problem, and didn't expect to find an answer to something so specific, so thank you for posting!
And it looks like I have the same pressure washer, so, Ryobi, I hope you're paying attention. One time use, man!

Great video! Quick and to the point. It helped me fix mine that broke after a single use. I did notice on mine that there was a slight indent in the plastic that looked like the nozzle piece had jammed into it when it stuck.

Took it apart and there was a flash on the part from when it was injection molded.
Did as you suggested and now the nozzle is mostly working.
I think I really need to lap it properly instead of the quick sand I did.

Mine is a green nozzle that came with the 1800 PSI $80 sale unit I got this recent Christmas. I did that 4 or 5 times and it only ever fixed it for a minute at a time. It seemed like I was losing water pressure but I knew I wasn't the turbo nozzle would just slow down and then sputter every time I fixed it. Before taking it apart I was just spraying some silicone in there and it would work for a little while. The last time I tried fixing it I was using a small pick pry it out and the pic went through the plastic so now I have a hole in it I thought it was ruined but I put it back together and though it's no longer spun like the turbo nozzle does it was just one steady spray at a very high velocity and long-range it is now my favorite nozzle I can spray things off at a distance effectively and I can peel paint off of the house with ease in a more predictable and controlled manner. So if anybody's ever having too much damn trouble fixing that thing all the time I highly suggest just poking a hole right through the plastic piece and enjoy the results. That was my Bob Ross happy accident today.

Surprise! If there is no abrasive debris remaining after cleaning and reassembly, try adding 3 or four drops of oil into quick release end of turbo tip. Adding lubricant worked great for me.

Thanks Daniel I think you may have just helped us out here in England. My partners Ryobi turbo nozzle is not functioning as it should be but we’ve got a different type, ours has 3 nozzles at the end (I suspect it’s the basic power washer) and it’s the turbo nozzle that’s not doing it’s job??? 😮 My partner’s going to try to take it apart to see if he can clean it out as you did. Here’s hoping..will keep you posted 😊 Kathy. Update 11/09/23 nope it didn’t work so stuck with it as it is! It does work but is no better than a normal hose pipe! 🤔😒

Thanks for this. Mine worked fine first use. I put it away for the winter and then it stopped spinning. I took the turbo nozzle apart, cleaned it out and put it back together. Worked for about a minute. Took it apart again, sanded rough spots (of which there was only one) and it worked for about half a minute. I think it's just a lousy design, with all that plastic.

Thanks for the free rental though.

Impressive. My SunJoe turbo nozzle quit after just 3 used over 3 months in 2022. I opened it (as you explained) and cleaned the slight calcification from hard water. It was slight layer but it was good enough to make nozzle useless. It’s brass plate inside that directs water to plastic spindle. What if I dip in the brass part and nozzle in the vinegar for ten minutes?

  • @SIOSpawn

Mine eventually stopped spinning too. And by eventually I mean the 2nd time I used it. So I found this video and no amount of sanding works. I've probably sanded about half if the nub off and it still gets caught.

Problem is the metal part you screw on is not rustproof and when it rusts it clogs up the other parts. I had to clean mine 2x and polish with 600grit and very fine steel wool and used a dremel tool to polish the rusted part. They saved 10cents not using stainless. Cheap buggers. Thanks!
