    I bought a parts truck once that had the Ford cb radio in it. I thought it was pretty cool. I still have it and the antenna put away in a box.

    The "Low Fuel Economy" instrument cluster light setup is 75 only. You also didn't mention the factory glide out step which is more rare than some of the options you mentioned and the spot lights were also pretty uncommon. The locking hood latch is part of the security group, 78 and 9. And also includes a locking glove box. The fog lights were a pretty common dealer installed ad on as were many of these options. You also didn't mention the underhood generator, but I've forgotten what year that was discontinued. (Might be Bumpside). The Manual Transmission Tilt column is 79 only and rare and I have one of those. Cruise Control came out in 75 as well and it would be one of the rarest options as well.

    Great and informative video. When I got my truck in 1976 my salesman didn't bother to tell me about the options I could get just what I couldn't get like the 460. I argued with him for some time that I should be allowed to order the 460 as my Dad worked there so I should get a special Ford employee deal. I got the standard 360😂.

    • @DentsideDepot
      @DentsideDepot  7 месяцев назад +8

      Yea literally the worst decision by Ford on these trucks, really makes no sense why the 460 was never offered with 4wd. Thanks as always!

    Am I the only Chevy truck owner that watches this channel? I have owned 14 Fords (still own 2). When I was looking to order a truck, the dealer would not give me what I wanted. I couldn’t find a used ford truck either. Chevy gave me everything. I compare mine with the trucks you show. Had to laugh when you showed the compass. I put one on my windshield, and coming towards NYC in the rain at night, I was sure I was going the correct way, according to the compass. When daylight came I ended up in Connecticut! With the radio on,(magnet in the speaker) the compass was 180 degrees off! The tape that held the compass on the window is still there.
    On one of your other videos, someone commented on my response, saying 16.5 tires are not available anymore, and that I can only get 17” rims. My original hub caps won’t fit on 17” rims! Any idea who might sell 9.50x16.5 or 12.00x16.5 tires?

    A buddy of mine had a loaded 1979 Bronco. He worked at the local Lincoln/Mercury dealer in their parts department and he bought it from the area service rep who had it as a company car. It literally had every conceivable option available for that model year. This was back in 1980.

  • @karljay7473
    @karljay7473 6 месяцев назад +1

    How about the side mounted spare tire? You have a section of the bed body that comes off and inside the bed side walls, you have your spare tire. It mounts to the frame and holds the spare tire between the inner and outer bedside. I snagged one about 25 years ago. It's like the old built in side tool box that goes at the bottom of the bed, except it goes all the way up to the dent and is big enough for a spare tire.

    I do not know if it was an option from the dealer or just a neat thing you could buy from Ford....
    I have a FoMoCo air horn kit new in the box.
    It uses vacuum from the motor to somehow run a little air compressor that you can actuate via a solenoid to a set of air horns like a semi truck would have.
    I have the whole kit with instructions dated 1976
    I will need to rebuild the vacuum and compressor parts though because they have never been used and are stiff
