    • @lucky7s94
      @lucky7s94 7 месяцев назад +2

      @russellweber4334 pfffttt... no... and my '79 F-150 isn't an easy target for that since I'm almost always near it, but nobody said anything about storing guns in it. I want the rack for nostalgic purposes and for hunting season. Furthermore, even if I drove my other truck, there's always a neighbor with a watchful eye and a firearm of sorts as well. Where I live, it's a small enough town to keep tabs on things

    • @russellweber4334
      @russellweber4334 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@lucky7s94 If you put a gun rack on the rear window of a truck today, you are telling thieves you own guns, just like putting a NRA sticker or a protected by HK sticker with a HK mp5 logo on it. Back in 1978 I had a plastic gun rack from woolworths on the back window of my 1974 Ford F250 and on the back window of my old man's 1973 Dodge D100 and lived in the city of St. Louis, MO., but it was much different than today.

    • @lucky7s94
      @lucky7s94 7 месяцев назад +1

      @russellweber4334 right... well, it might be that way in Missouri, but not where I'm at in Tennessee. Again, I'm almost always near the truck. It's a small town. Mostly everybody local already owns firearms. And, vehicles with markings of gun ownership are the ones to stay away from around here for a would-be thief. I tend to spend most of my time at work or home where the truck isn't out of my sight, and I wouldn't be caught traveling far from home with it because it's a classic and a very popular local relic since it used to be a local fire department brush truck. Everybody local knows this truck. It doesn't get used a ton. It has a big block with a C6, no overdrive, 9" rear end with 15x10" eagle alloys and 31x10.50s. All my other vehicles have overdrive if I have to go farther than about 30 miles or so from home. I just feel like a gun rack would complete the feeling and looks very well.

    It makes sense that you don't see a lot of the CB options in the trucks, because you could purchase a CB separate and install it for a lot cheaper price.

    • @DentsideDepot
      @DentsideDepot  8 месяцев назад +8

      Yes that makes total sense. When you consider the cost of the CB and then the up order for the higher level radio, youre talking $500 in 1979 dollars, which is a ton. Im sure most people just had them out of their old truck to put in the new one anyway.
