Was on a RC cruise last May. Took 60.00 and played a 1.00 slot machines....won 5,000! Locked that up so fast. Next day went back and won 920.00. started with 100.00!!!
As someone who's done a fair share of gambling onboard, let me just say... This is a *great* overview of how to navigate cruise casinos! Thanks for the really well done vid!
I think the main thing you have to know is what you can afford to lose! It’s best to treat it as entertainment budget because the house does the math….we need to do ours as well! Thanks Tanner 😊
4:45 coin pusher gets “reset” every night skill crane and key master will only payout when it have generated enough money for the casino , no skill involved. Plus the claw game gets reset each night as well.
Gamble for entertainment. People always talk about what they win but never what they lose. House odds mean the advantage the house has over you. Every single game has a house advantage. They wouldn't be in business otherwise. Casinos are a large profit center for the ships. You can win in the short term but in the long term the math holds and you will lose. Like I said, gamble for entertainment. Also, never gamble with what you can't afford to lose. Also gambling offers from the shipping lines entice people to travel. The ships have a ton of profit centers. Therefore, they're getting you to travel on their line so they can make money. But if you like cruising that's fine. Remember that's all for entertainment and some fun.
Recently went on a 3 night cruise on RC (2nd x), gambled started with 200.00 ended up breaking even....just rec'd offer free for 2 people.. 3 or 4 night inside cabin plus 25.00 free play

@@missdee7045 test it once each row, but don’t do it until a few days in. That payout is going to be high. It might hit the bottom row once by the end of the cruise.
On my first cruise, I wish I knew that table games don't matter as much. Play the slots when you want to earn points. And if you have enough points, you can get a complimentary next cruise offer. And within a couple weeks after my first cruise, I started getting the offers coming in. So, despite losing money, I got the money back with the complimentary cruises that I was offered and redeemed for. However, the complimentary cruise does not include excursions, airfare, and staying at a hotel the night before the cruise. Therefore, those were added expenses I was not anticipating. Therefore, very quickly I drained through my savings. But when you spent a few thousand in the casino, it's normal where you want to at least get your monies worth. So then to get your monies worth, you end up spending more money. So, while I will enjoy my various cruise experiences with my family, I know that it's not a permanent lifestyle that I would be able to maintain. That is why for so many families, they might do one or two cruises in a lifetime while the people that frequently cruise are enjoying their golden years of retirement.
1:08 I love how he falls for the casino P.R. lingo... Calling it "gaming" instead of "gambling" . We all know its the gambling industry not the gaming industry.
Main thing to consider is that the casinos are owned and operated by the cruise line, and do not have to comply with any authorities. Las Vegas is regulated by the gaming commission which verify the games and machines are fair , the ships are free to do as they wish.
Australian cruises don't allow smoking in casinos, especially those that cruise out of Oz. The cruise lines must follow our smoking rules, and it's to protect the employee from secondhand smoke.
We have a set amount we take just for gambling. Win or lose we never dip into the other funds . And normally it lasts the trip . I enjoy playing the slots not to win it does happen just not often lol we do it for the points . We now get free drinks ship wide free rooms and better upgrades. Over all its a break from every day life .
Same i was on the seascape I quit playing after a few hundred.. watch a lady i met spend 5k didn't win anything a few bonuses here and there but they cleaned her out
I'm in MO and drinks aren't free at our casinos either. Most states it isn't ...Vegas is about the only place I've found where its free if you can find anyone serving....
The gaming is still regulated. By the country the ship is flagged in. They wait until they’re at sea to not have to also be gaming licensed by that country they’re at port.
@briankeller9848 it depends on how strict the country regulations are the ship is registered in. It's why many banks have headquarters in Maryland, it's relaxed regulations allow them to rape our wallets. Better gaming regulations keep the casinos at sea from not being fair to players with controlled payouts. Even taxing can be raking in money if not regulated. I live in Florida and when I win in Mississippi that state takes taxes from the win that the state declares theirs and whether I live there or not they keep it!
The casinos on ships are regulated but must abide by the country/port’s laws re:gambling. Ex: it’s illegal in Hawaii so the casino is closed while in Hawaii. As far as free drinks in casinos- Indian owned casinos do not have free drinks. Others basically do.
We bet very small so our loss was equally very small. What was a big rip off was the bingo. If you do a bit of maths, calculate the number of books by cost and the total payouts. It’s a staggerring profit earner for the cruise owners. We played once and that was it.
less than 10% of gamblers on cruise ships smoke, but they dirty 100% of the air. Celebrity does not allow smoking in its casinos, so I can spend much more time there. The last cruise I won a 10k Grand but was comfortable in the casino because there was no smoking, and I gave back some of that winning. On Royal, where I also gamble a lot, I would have left as soon as I won because of the smoking. Many passengers, especially during colder months, come to the casino to smoke, even though only players are allowed to smoke in the casino. there is no enforcement of the rule, and you'll have 50 people smoking and not even gambling.
Slot machine odds can be lower than land based casinos. You are a captured audience. It's not like you can go to another ship. On a cruise ship they offer lessons several times on a cruise. Some table games are not offered during most of the day. Have seen some games in the casino. Tournaments can be fun.
I love gambling and love casinos but will always stay away from cruise ship casinos because of the smoking. It's so weird that they cater to such a tiny minority of their customers while pushing away the vast majority of us who don't smoke.
I used to hate cruise casinos, but then I realized those people losing money were subsidizing my cruise. Now I just avoid the casino and let them lower my cruise fare.
Most cruise lines will also offer a separate loyalty track dependent solely on how many "points" you accrue via gambling. Keep in mind, it's usually not worth the investment in comparison to just buying cruises normally, but it depends on how much points you end up racking up-you can even end up with free cruises on your hands.

I found cruise casinos less intense than US land casinos. Also, the classes on craps and roulette on one ship gave us a $5 chip when we were done.

Due to casino play, my wife gets free RC cruises and I get free Celebrity cruises (play taxes and port fees). GREAT way to do it!

The best tip was that you may be able to see games on TV in the casino. Our next cruise falls during the MLB post-season.
The no smoking policy is why we usually only cruise with Celebrity. It's so much nicer to be able to breathe while playing or walking thru the casino.
