Great breakdown of progesterone’s role in men’s health. The connection to testosterone brain health and preventing prostate issues is something that doesn’t get talked about enough... It’s crazy how things like stress refined carbs & environmental toxins can throw the whole system off balance. Definitely agree with focusing on nutrient-dense foods and managing inflammation to support overall hormone health. Thanks for laying it out so clearly!
I’ve been using ashwanganda for years to help with prostate problems and it works well in conjunction with resistance workouts. Thanks for the informative vid 👍🏼
Gr video Doc. We need more on hormones for both men and women. I’m at that age and was just tested at 197 which is ridiculously low. Began w low energy and weight gain
I gotta say, I love you and your videos. They're concise, very informative and I'm able to watch 'em from beginning to end without feeling like I need to rest. Don't get me wrong, I have watched your longer videos without pausing. You are one of the RUclips doctors that I trust when it comes to changing my diet and habits. I needed that. Thanks a lot!
Great video, Doc. The benefits you've outlined - from brain protection to prostate health - show why men need to pay attention to their progesterone levels too.
I would love to see you do a video on Resveratrol and Sulforaphane and their benefits to mitochondria and their benefits to kidney functions and health
Dr. Berg, would you please do a video that walks us through your day including your morning routine? What supplements you take what you eat in a day and your exercise routine?
Good to hear about progesterone that isn't focused on the uterus. All the benefits for the brain and around the body, in men and women. It's nigh impossible for women who've had a hysterectomy and ovaries out, to get progesterone prescribed for these other important functions and benefits. Doctors don't want to consider any of that. Which is so, so wrong. I had no idea that Finasteride was a synthetic analogue of progesterone. Wow! Thank you 😊xx
@@Adrianbacon-c9qYes, but that doesn't really matter, one way or another. The fact is that he does a LOT of research behind the scenes before making these videos in order to make more accurate and truthful and useful videos. He is also quite knowledgeable after this many years of "connecting the dots", so to speak, that he knows quite a few of the essential basics of how things work together in the body, that way he can also reference other important and related topics.
I have PTSD, and have been in flight/flight for decades, with hypertension. Several months ago I started 25 mg of progesterone nightly (mixed with vitamin E on the gums). I found I was able to sleep better, and felt a little calmer during the day. I went up to 50 mg nightly, and not only can I sleep through the night, but my BP dropped to the point I was able to stop metoprolol after decades on it. Progesterone, along with TRT (only 100mg/week) have been a game-changer for me.
How is progesterone taken ? Is it by injection, powder form, or pill ? And why the Vitamin E ? Sorry for the multiple questions, but I'm 46, post chemo for Leukemia, and my Testosterone is officially tanked to 199. Trying to rebuild my body.
Glad to hear the good news. I have struggled with PTSD in the past and was retriggered a year ago. But I am probably like 70% recovered. I'd urge you to focus more on the root of the problem as a way to achieve long term health. Supplements are good for a short term when you need them but try to work toward actually solving the root of the problem that has caused the imbalance in your life in the 1st place.
Hi Dr Berg, many thanks for all theses valuable information. Could you please make a video about how to treat hyponatremia caused by long term use of corticosteroids.
Excellent video Dr. Berg. I have been in practice (naturopathic dr here) x 20 years. If you get selected to help RFKj out, I’d love to take your seat! 🎉❤

Wow, I just learned about this. This hormone is really important for our health, especially for men. Additionally, it helps reduce the size of the prostate, which is a significant health threat.

You need to try a little bit of magnesium. Maybe 100-200mg per day. That will calm you down in a hurry. It is the electrolyte that creates relaxation
