    I just got this set. It's a simple one but I really like it. From my side I've made 2 modifications till now. First I've exchanged the links between the wagons with "train" magnets. They are black and looks very nice in comparison to the original light gray connections. Second mod is the front windows of each end sections (tram driver cab). Instead of slopping them inwards like Lego did, I kept them straight and added an extra transparent curved window. This way it closes the original gap between the windows and the tram walls and still look good. Your idea of lowering the floor of each wagon is great!

    Love this set (except the price)! Hopefully lego releases some expansions to this set like extra cars , plattforms, etc

    Interesting that Lego have gone back to using metal axles with their train wheels as they did before 2019. They are so much better than the version with plastic pins that they tried in a few sets (part 38340) in terms of running true and with lower rolling resistance.

      @@GodmanchesterGoblin It’s very fun rolling it around by hand! Sometimes it just rolled off my table unintentionally. Thanks for the history tidbit!

      metal axles really make a difference. The plastic ones risk much more getting clogged with dirt.

    I really love the set, it has all it needs to be a city metro/tram, even if it doesn't come with a full circle of track. You still get platforms which is awesome. But I would have liked 2 of the ramp in the set. So you can indeed have 2 stations instead of just 1 and a spare.
    I hope, and I really do, that we get a new grand station. But lego is not keen on doing stations all that often. And I wouldn't mind if we get another one of these but perhaps in a different color next year to increase your metro/tram fleet. Perhaps with a set of platforms again in the same fasion so you can mix and match. I love public transport in Lego. And these lower cost tram sets really are great. It makes something on track more accessible for more kids!

    been waiting a bit for a review on this one. looks great overall build wise but the gap between the cars is unacceptable. a 3L technic lift arm would have been more than enough even though it would still need some modification to look halfway decent

      You’re right! I don’t build trains often, but the gap is pretty significant!

    The cars look great, however i feel like the magnet train couplers would have been better for the set and as a train building parts pack.

      I agree that it would look better, but would they still turn right? The cars are stuck on a straight piece. And not turning like on bigger cars.

    The multiple instruction booklets are so it can be built by multiple people. Think: kids or siblings or parents and children building together. It’s like Lego content creators forget these are KIDS TOYS!!

    • @dgray3771
      @dgray3771 2 месяца назад +1

      Me too, I'm getting a second one. But I hope we get a different one a year or 2 from now with the same platform connections. So you can mix and match. They could even give us a grand metro station. That has the connections too. So you can make it bigger or take it apart. Having a bike rental shop and perhaps a flower shop. But you can take it apart. And reconfigure.

    Love the set (except the price point) and glad that we get more rail related stuff. But one thing bugs me, and this is concerning all of freinds and City. You got a dozen sets with disabled minifigs but not a single one with a baby car. Have lived in many cities and the number of babys in streetcars massivly outnumber the wheelchairs.
    If I buy this set, I will bump up the station one brick in height, so it is really accesible

    0:38 that looks like the old lego trucks with the metal axles? is that true? i thought lego switched to plastic wheels years ago
    1:25 it indeed IS the metal axles! are they bringing them back because people didnt like the new plastic ones?

    • @dgray3771
      @dgray3771 2 месяца назад

      I believe the main reason could be that the plastic ones are simply bad. Dirt gets the easily clogged and stuck. Iron ones have far less issue with it. I got older trains and they have iron they are in my opinion better. Much better.
