My final thoughts on the Elden Ring DLC

    I liked the dlc. Tbh I understand why everyone says the bosses are overtuned but I still don't agree. The bosses are hard, and that's exactly what we needed. Or, at least, exactly what I needed. The base game wasn't hard enough for me. I've beaten the game over and over and over with the majority of the weapons in the game. I've even learned how to wrong warp to get upgrade materials you aren't supposed to have. Anyways... the point is that I got more of the game that I love so much, and it challenged me more than I ever could have hoped. It's exactly what I wanted.

    i liked the dlc, but a couple remembrance bosses felt a bit underwhelming (putrescent knight and gaius namely) and i really dont like radahn in phase 2. i wish they took his boss in a different direction. but with that being said, i loved messmer. hes probably my second or third favorite fromsoft boss behind isshin and maybe godfrey.
    i too am excited for their next game. i am hoping for something far more linear with a new(ish) combat system like sekiro because ived realized i like fromsoft bosses better when they are roadblocks instead of things i can just do later. but thats just a personal preference situation.

      Yeah I think the way to make Radahn phase 2 way more pallatable is to just tone down on the particle effects and slow it down a bit. Bosses were a bit of a mixed bag but some absolute bangers in it imo

    the dlc dissapointed me to no end. my criticisms of the base game was overtuned bosses for the core combat system, over reliance on cheese and broken stuff to stand a chance, overly cinematic bosses at the cost of visual clearence and good mechanics and especially copy pasted assets, dungeons , ruins bosses etc.
    did the dlc adress any of these? well the small dungeons are better, the legacy dungeons are worse, shadow keep is good. and everything else they doubled down on. double the visual dhiareea on screen, double the boss agression, half the downtime between attacks, enemies copy pasted from the main game everywhere to the point theres at least 40% of them in the dlc, the rest 60% being new , empty areas, more fucking dragons etc, you get the point. they yet again made a game thats too big, didnt have the reousces to fill it with unique stuff, and also yet again broke the balance with the scadu system where except for radahn and maybe bayle you are yet again too strong or too weak. everything wrong with elden ring this dlc has it doubled. everything good with elden ring this dlc does worse imo, except for the world structrue being cooler
