    • Closing thoughts:
o On wrist - Great proportions sit nice and flat on the wrist
o Model Variants - Also available with a Black dial or in Bronze case with either a Black or Green dial
 w/your choice of Black, Khaki, or Army Green straps w/matching Steel or Bronze hardware
o Comparable models - While there are more and more microbrand competitors joining the fray, something like the modern Vertex M100 at $2700 is an interesting contemporary from an original Dirty Dozen manufacturer
o Bottom-line - If you’re looking for the most historically accurate Dirt Dozen watch, the Filthy 13 isn’t that, BUT if you’re looking for a Swiss Made, well spec’d and executed, modern general purpose field watch, the Filthy 13 makes something like the Hamilton Khaki Field feel more than a bit underwhelming by comparison

Tuul vs Praesidus would be an interesting video!

Agreed that it isn’t the greatest value proposition in the world… That said - in 38mm, small seconds and Swiss Made it doesn’t have a lot of competition as far as field watches are concerned. Probably none, actually…

At a couple hundred dollars more expensive than a Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic, it's hard to imagine this being very popular. Granted, you're getting a screw-down crown (which the KFA doesn't have) and a small seconds dial (also not on the KFA), at the expense of Hamilton's heritage and Hamilton's longer power reserve. And if the screw-down crown is truly that important to you, you can pick up a Khaki Field Expedition for not much more than this at retail and certainly the same price or less with available Hamilton discounts. Bottom line, this seems like a really tough sell.

I’ve been looking at these recently - the 38mm suits me more than either 40 or 36 that Vertex is currently offering. It also looks more punchy than the KFM which in real life I found looked very washed out.

A screw down crown is not important to me, which is often mentioned against the Hamilton khaki field. The Hamilton KFA and KFM in 38mm redefined watch comfort for me. They set the bar that other field watches have to get close to. The advantage the KFA and KFM have imo is a bracelet option from the factory. My field watches need to be on bracelet and would've liked to see this Tuul on a matching blasted bracelet much like my KFM.

It would seem to me that for a military vibe field watch, the small seconds is a fundamental failure. One needs a clearly visible way to count passing seconds accurately for a variety of reasons. The small seconds seem harder to see. It would be a pass at any price for me.

But it has a mark for each second. Not that I think you should buy it, but I'm confused by what watch you're looking at.

@@robbbberyI am wrong and stand corrected, thank you. I must have looked at this with my "morning eyes". Even at that, the small seconds seems out of place for this type of watch. But I have no particular dislike for the watch. Thank you for making me aware of my dunbness. I need that now and again.

@@hugejohnson5011 apparently the small seconds was specified so the wearer wouldn’t confuse the seconds and minute hand. That’s what I read somewhere anyway.

@@Motibreva Sounds sensible enough I reckon. The small seconds just strikes me as gimmicky. Thanks for the feedback.

Contrived name. Complete copycat design. Nicely executed, perhaps.
But that's a lot of money to ask for zero originality or innovation on top of what are now considered baseline specifications.
I think they're going to struggle to grow a fan base if this is the value proposition they're leading with.
