Thanks for watching!
my dads still got his 1960s pioneer system. has never missed a beat and is still in regular use.
Holy shit, pioneer was really ahead of it's time with innovative products.
japan would dominate electronics for decades.
I love my 1986 Pioneer VSX-5000 with old school dolby surround. Has that definitive 80's look, great sound and everything still functions 100%. Probably the first "modern" A/V receiver as well as the 4000 which I believe were the first of Pioneers A/V's to have a remote control. I know it's not regarded as one of the best vsx receivers but I love the style of Pioneers 80's products.
Paid over 5 grand in 1980 for a new Pioneer SX-1980 Receiver, Bang & Olufsen BeogramTurntable and four Bose 901 Speakers. Baddest stereo system on the block. Fast forward 39 years and it's still the baddest system on the block! Okay, maybe not the baddest now but it's a 40 year old system and it still kicks ass!
It still the bad ass ever
They made great stereo equipment.
I'm here because in the mid-90's (not sure exact date) my Dad bought me a second-hand Pioneer SA 620 amplifier......AND IT STILL WORKS PERFECTLY!!! I use it everyday 😊
Also, I recently bought some second-hand Pioneer HRM-7 pro headphones......
THEY ARE MY END-GAME HEADPHONE!!! Much love 😘🎧🎶🎚🎛🎹🥁😁
I worked for Pioneer from 1990 to 1997 as a technical representative along the Pacific Rim market. Pioneer was set in Meguro Tokyo at the time. I saw a bit change in those years. I still own and listen to Pioneer speaker systems CA 7700 from the seventies and 90s column speakers. Also a vintage Project component system.
48:30 I've been listening to this with Pioneer's last headphones in Japan ;(
They still operate the car electronics division, which relieves me.
Love those 80's optimistic soundtracks.
Pioneer is best!

English lyrics
Full of light, full of sound,
decorate dream , When the curtain of times goes up
Let spread the wing of hope
Become a person traveling in space
Enrich your mind , Beautiful life
Words are endless , With new feel
Pioneer Pioneer Pioneer
Sound invite , light leads
To the future , To the future
Pioneer
People gather , talk about dreams
denote love, When we gather up the new century
Shine the eyes of the ideal
Become inviter to the unknown
Open the door , Look up the sky
Don't fear tomorrow , cherish the today
Pioneer Pioneer Pioneer
Sound invite , light leads
To the future , To the future

pioneer is world best sound
A lot of wonderful high-quality product lines.
Pioneer really build some top notch stuff! Especially TV,S ! I had a pair of there of 6X9 car audio speakers! They were 3 ways ! There car audio stuff was tops ! Super tuner (3) ! 😊
They even built some really top notch audio eq as well TV,S they are still one of the best sets & there elite line was the best !
I had a Pioneer FM 8-track in the second half of the 70s and early 80s. It was surprisingly rugged and an excellent signal source. The surprising ruggedness was revealed when the deck launched off the seat, smashing into the dash during a wreck. The signal source was FM radio and it was unaffected. My right knee on the other hand was severely bruised and required a week to recover.
I never realized that the Pioneer symbol meant anything. Unlike the Yamaha three tuning forks symbol which was impossible to miss.
Amazing engineering in those times
Thank you, Audiophile Vintage!

Pioneer is good gear, this is why..
+lik at waaaaaaaa Yes, they are.
When observing a Junior salesman on the the shop floor he accidentally inserted a cracked CD for a demonstration, after noticing he apologized to the customer who remarked I heard CD discs were unbreakable, he quickly replied yeah that's what they said about the Titanic, Classic.
LOL, this clip it's older than the Lexus brand, nowadays various models from the Japanese firm features audio systems from Pioneer, besides the Mark Levinson top of the shelf systems.
Founded in new year 1938
too bad they missed the great and beautiiful sx silver line from 1980
endrizo they didn’t really focus on the mid to late 70s silver face receivers or the receiver wars of the mid to late 70s at all. That changed home based audio and stereo systems forever. Never again will we see such high quality stereo systems marketed and made available for mainstream consumption.
Jondubb78 that’s a fact. I have a SX 750 and SX1250. Wonderful components
@@jondubb35 Or the Pioneer HPM series of loudspeakers, The brainchild of Mr. Locanthi & team.
And today the equipment of this brand is too far from the quality that they had once.
I had a pioneer xvev31 model but the speaker quality was not good but the radio was awesome
I was going they would hit on the huge receivers of the mid seventies.
Ever seen an SD-1100 qudrascope?
29:06 Wtf? R2D2 carrying discs?
And..... then came along the DVD and made all other forms of home video obsolete.... until the digital downloads changed everything years later. Although, I do still have LDs and LD players. Mostly for nostalgic reasons, but the audio quality in many of my LDs is superior to that of some of my older DVDs. Some are on par with my Blu Rays, as far as audio is concerned.
Robots were doing this for years, and it's a good thing because robots are awesome!
JAPANESE LETTERS ALLWAYS MAKE ME HUNGRY.
8th grade . USA .a pioneer laserdisc player. and a rgb tv. with a Apple Mac generation 1 all the Mac did was produce a barcode. for the index of the pioneer laser disc JPEG. AND library of Congress info. on biology. zoo
But my vsx522 receiver made by them suffer hdmi board failure due to poor soldering of the bga chip.

ilove pioneer deh-p99
I disagree... I would take German over Japanese any day.
zigzagbigbag it's hard to find german products here so we buy japanese stuff and japan is more closer to us so there's not much shipment fee
mothra twins
16:02 The Peanuts (their real name, 1959-1975) were the most musically talented singing & performing Japanese duo of all time and they also appeared to The Ed Sullivan's Show in the mid-60's. Sadly both of them passed away in the 2010's.
I don't think pioneer when I think audiophile quality or even high end main stream, more like reliable mass produce and cheap Japanese plastic stuff. I could be wrong or maybe that's just how it's been since I've been a consumer.
Thad ward -You may not be familiar with their stereo receivers and other components of the 1970s then. From about 1973-1981 or so, Pioneer released some of the finest high end stereo receivers the world has ever seen. Look up the Pioneer SX-1010, SX-1250 and/or 1280, and perhaps the granddaddy of all high end late 1970s receivers, the SX-1980. These are all the furthest thing from “Cheap Japanese Plastic Stuff”. The cheap crap would come much much later. Mid to late 80s and beyond.
@@jondubb35 Very true......
I would say during the 70s and 80s Pioneer was one of the major audiophile brands.
