Great video. I think the thing comes from t5; t4 1a has three, 90- 95, with clock or tachometer or the automatic gearbox. The first of the two with tacho gets its signal from the red wire on the altermeter..W. the second from the geatbox.
I have one question related to the cluster for a 1997 automatic Eurovan cluster part # 7DO919860P. Mine is toasted so need it to repair or get an new one. Either a shop to repair it or a place to buy one. Thank you so much.
Had a flashing oil light on my 98 T4 it was the spade connection onto the oil pressure switch on the oil filter housing. If its not that try a new oil pressure switch.
Hi! I’ve a 2.4D T4 like you and i have the same cluster (2°generation with one lcd). It’s dead now! I’ve found one from a passat diesel with 2 lcd(3° génération), its works perfectly? Except the rev counter, obviously. Thanks
I have been running mine for years without any of the dials working as it has the solder joint fault I think. Luckily the fuel light still comes on so I know when I need fuel and it's so slow I never needed the speedo! It may be easier to replace like yours
@Andy Thanks Andy I will look at that I did read somewhere that the the loom was too heavy for the connector. That may explain why it randomly worked last year for two days!
@@BluejuiceT4 Was the voltage regulator solder connections on my 94 model, didnt like the vibrations, so no fuel or temp gauges working. Oh and the blue led for the high beam went kaput, which I couldnt find a replacement for , so rigged a different blue led in its place which is so bright the whole cab is bathed in blue light when its on. So thats another job well done.:(
@@jumpingjackflash2808 I’ve just paid £60 on eBay and sent my 1995 cluster off. They basically refurbish the dry soldered joints and check anything else that needs doing. I too have no temp or fuel gage. I have as a precaution also bought a new temp sensor to swap once all back but won’t swap until I see it all working

Had the same flashing oil light issue/rev counter not working on my old T4 was a faulty alternator, the wiring is on the same loom. Posted a video on my channel link below. I'd keep the original cluster in. ruclips.net/video/o8MWWOnyHQw/видео.html

I've recently bought a 2nd gen t4 and my heat gauge doesn't work at all and fuel gauge has a mind of its own, is it likely to be the cluster?

Do you have the part number of the Passat cluster? Many thanks
check your alternator, could be faulty, and the reason of rev counter not working and oil light to come out
Thanks! It was a wire from the alternator that had broken and causing both problems
Funny, you sound exactly like Leo from Tally Ho. Anyways, good video, thanks for posting it.
Great video . Thanks.
It's a faulty alternator happened to my t4
Thats a lot easier to get out than the first generation one. You need to take the steering wheel off to get that out.
yikes!
Were did you get replacement clocks Ibeen looking for ages
eBay - shipped from Lithuania
Have you fixed your oil light ?
Yes it’s in the video description

Hiya. My entire instrument panel has died. What model Passat is that one from? Gonna have to get on Ebay and need options.
Hi. This was from a passat b4 (1994)
@@JoelsStuff Cheers. Just looked, mostly in Lithuania!
Hiya. Do you still have it? I could use one.
I sold it I am afraid. Mine came from Lithuania for £80 (eBay)
@@JoelsStuff Aw. Cheers anyway
Were i can buy this meter please give the T number
Change your mechanic. Mileage changes always through a red flag on MOT test anyway.
