You just saved me money pal. I'd never have had a clue without your vid. £8.99 on ebay for brand new barrel, and I matched 6 out of 7 pins with my old keys. Thanks a lot.
Rasti, thank you very much indeed for taking the time to do this. You've save me from an auto locksmith/key matching service that I can't really afford. I really appreciate it, thank you again! :)
Brilliant, thank you so much for your very well presented video. My T4 has had no key to operate the passenger door since I bought it, I will now be able to sort it myself.
@@ryanpsims73 Actually, I think you have to pull that one (cant remeber which door was which). But on one door you cant knock the pin out, you have to pull it out. With a wrench or something
@@ORIGINAL4D Are you using only a hammer? I used a set of "drift pins" to get it out. Specifically this set: www.biltema.se/verktyg/handverktyg/drivdorn/drivdorn-2-8-mm-2000024016 I think the one matching the pin had a diameter of 2mm. But I started off using a "stitching awl" which had a more conic shape. This subsequently broke the material surrounding the pin when I struck it too hard. So I had to buy a new/used door handle. But then I used the drift pins above, together with some lubricant/rust removal. This worked for me! And I had a pretty rusted up VW from 93.

Each brass piece used to have a number on it so copy the number code of an existing working barrel

Where did you get the barrel? I need a new one for the tailgate on my T5
Super helpful. Thank you.

Such a good video. Thanks
Thanks so much really really helpful.
Very good
Managed to get for pins working but can't get the barrel back in flush
Was the bottom pin needed a bit of a wiggle for it to squeeze through
Did this, and it worked beautifully!
BUT! I also have a lock on the fuel refilling place. Anyone have an idea how to remove this cylinder??
@@RastiKucirek Alright, thanks for your quick reply!
Did you atempt to change the side door or back door cylinder? Otherwise I'll post a video of that if I succeed!
@@RastiKucirek Yeah, looks like it! Thanks again! :) Will give it a try!
Rasti Breza How were you able to get the pin out for the slider? Looks impossible.

What do you suggest if the pin won't come out with a good hit of the hammer
