Adrian finally evolving like a Pokémon from basic sport watch dude to sophisticated design nerd and eventually final form of high horology complication lover.
Action speaks louder than words …His pricy collection is basically Rolex watches ..
Adrian morphing into Theo & Harris
Are you calling a quartz watch a high end complication or that he’ll eventually go that way!? If the former then 😭😭💀💀
High horology complication? 😂
@Adwnpinoy310 -nope. The gold yes. Everything else, Nope.
Just a reminder to all the watch enthusiasts, slow down and consider each purchase.
1 watch per year is generally fast paced.
Great advice. Instagram / social media can make us feel like we need more.
Useful reminder!🫡
I love all this advice. But disagree. I'm 54. I've been wearing and collecting watches since 1976. I've owned hundreds of watches. 1 a year is your opinion. My opinion is you buy as many as you want or like.
@@itsacookie1 excellent advice. When we’re chasing watches all year long, one after the other, there’s no possible way we can enjoy them, and enjoy the chase of finding them.
I did need to hear this
I think dropping his Explorer II actually broke Adrian, not just the crystal!
haha
@@BarkandJack all kidding aside, I agree - it’s a sharp watch and totally punk to wear it dressed down.
Got his Rolex back in Record time… great to see!
@@Vartan297 No, that's the better, older five-didge ref, not the clown ref.
@@richardwarren2024 Don’t act nice now….keep that same energy! 😂
A 25k watch without the brand describing the movement is kinda crazy to me.
THIS 👆
It's a quartz movement, the only description needed is what battery it takes 😂
It's a complete rip off
Clown money for a clown watch. Best described.
About 300 for the movement. So its about what you think the case is worth, i think its the point he is making to be fair.
The older I get the more I like watches that are also jewellery. I recently bought a 1980s Longines gold tone watch with a “woven”mesh bracelet. It’s a 2 hand quartz, it’s tiny at 32mm and I love it.
It was the mid-size, Steel & Gold with date at 5 o'clock that started my now 84th watch obsession. That was back in 1979. My favourite watch in my 84nr is my Medium Size Stainless Steel Santos de Cartier on my 7.75 inch wrist. Like you say, ignore the measurements and wear and enjoy 🤩
so happy someone finally cover the cartier panthere.
me and my wide have a pairing wedding watch, with her wearing the panthere in small size and the santos medium for me.
many friends has complimented the choice, since most people would pick the tank over the panthere, but yet this panthere has a case design that resonates very well with the santos.
my wife actually love wearing it with a black leather strap that literally transforms it into a santos dumont small which does not exist!
the panthere bracelet is also really comfortable, but very difficult to size (i didnt want to risk scratching the polished edges so we brought it back to the cartier store to resize)
DUDE, yes the Pantheré is such a slept on watch for men. IMO, it truly is a unisex watch that's quite classy
£25400 for the gold one is ridiculous
Still a classy elegant watch despite the ludicrous price.
Love the slightly more off piste enjoyment from you here Adrian. It’s a beautiful watch that’s for sure! I’m sure you’ll keep us all updated if you ever decide to purchase!
Grabbed a pair of Santos for a milestone wedding anniversary. They are stunning watches. Tudor/Omega fan here, so this was a leap-one I’m extremely happy I took.
Such a cool video, love how you found a way to describe quartz movements as a form of luxury.
Gorgeous watch! Great video. Thanks!
Nice to see a 16570 back on your wrist! Love this cartier, great video as always Adrian!
I love it. I tried on a small last year but it was too small. I definitely like this medium size. Thanks for the review Adrian. I might just go and try one on.
Adrian
If you like full gold, go for the Vacheron 222
this is off the beat, i would go for this out of spite and enjoy it more than the 222
The 222 is double the price
@@cameronmartin719 but Adrian Said « it’s perfect » and he wants one, waiting for a steel version …
Price is not in consideration when you talk about an absolutely masterpiece
@@cameronmartin719 tripple the watch tho
I'd 100% take the 222 over this. However, they are impossible to get, not to mention I don't have a spare £70k.
All watch collecting journeys will ultimately lead to either the Santos or the Reverso. Your final decision is to just decide which one you want.
Santos, yes, Reverso yes. 25k Quartz where the precious metal doesn't even equate to half the value?
or both, in my case. 🤣🫶🏼
Mine led to Orient.
Lol Cartier is just old money fad. It’s boring jewelry, nothing interesting about it no matter how many social media influencers peddle it down your throat. Every road leads to a Patek. That’s it.
@@IamnotJokic predictable. If you said FPJ or Lange, then you get my vote. but to each his own!
Picked up a amzwatch's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
Got my wife the Bollon Blue for her 40th birthday. Love Cartier. So elegant! Only downside is the lack of movement info., not just the quartz movements. Makes people unnecessarily suspicious.
Beautiful !!!!
I got myself a two-tone panthere couple months ago and love wearing it. My style is a bit dressy though so it matches my aesthetic, but I know that isn’t the case for everyone. I do agree to wear what you like. I like the daintiness of Cartier watches so much so that I got the Baignoire bangle over the weekend. They both wear like jewelry but I find that to be a pro.
Adrian there’s a large model coming this September. Ref for steel is WSPN0011
For half the price, get a vintage 2961 two-tone Santos Carree that looks almost exactly the same and has an automatic movement
I agree so much with the contrast. You don't have to just have one favourite style!
Loved the video!
As a proud owner of Panthere medium Steel for over 6 years, I agree. I somehow feel more confident but reserved as a man wearing this supposed lady’s watch.
My wife wears the small in gold. It looks great and it being quartz is a plus for ease of use.
Spring Drive Seiko. I bought the white birch. Never wear it. Beautiful watch, amazing accuracy. Costs less than this piece of "jewellery". When it sells, I'll be getting a Franck Muller or JLC which I'll get so much more value than one of these...what was that brand favoured by Argos back in the day?
Don't get me wrong- face value is beautiful...but with these, beauty is only skin deep.
Something the Beckhams would wear.
@@teamcuba2000 That’s great, enjoy! The Cartier is absolutely jewelry and more design driven than value driven. Honestly splurging on any luxury watch and trying to justify it based on value is something I stopped a long time ago.
Its the best timepiece for ladies💯
What an amazing outcome for a beautiful watch. Always a pleasure to see MaMaCoo work your magic. Thanks for sharing this transformation with us!
These watches are stunning in precious metal and I agree that they do very much lean toward jewellery . The Rose gold versions are somewhat softer in appearance and imbue the wearer with both power and elegance. They are also very silky on the wrist.
I have one gripe, the modern version of the Panthere wristwatch lacks the seconds hand which for me gives the dial essential kinetic energy, and neither do they have a calendar date window. Cartier are being mean at £ 25 K to exclude those two details. The earlier models of the Panthere possessed both.
Picked up a MaMaCoo 's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
Welcome to the club! An explorer and a cartier dress watch is the best combo to have. Benefits of the quarz movement: 6-8 years of battery life, its dead silent unlike older cartier models with quarz. It doesnt tick, it only makes a tiny sound when the minute hand moves once after each minute and it allows the watch to be under 8mm thick.
What I love about Cartier is their use of the cheapest Selitta Movements, or even 10$ Quarz, for a pricing of an inhouse movement.
It's hardly a $10 quartz..... But I get your point.
Show me a Cartier with a $10 quartz movement in it.
This comment is from someone who has zero understanding of Cartier
I feel like "in house" has become a headline that gets thrown out there like it means something. Selita and ETA make some great movements, and like the car industry, I don't have any issues with parts being used across many brands. As long as that brand can contribute to innovation somehow, It kinda makes business sense.
Wonder if Richard Mille put that $10 quartz into one of their products......how much will they charge
@@martinward7239 They are luxury Casios. At least Casio's retro designs are actually cool though.
I have a quartz Omega Seamaster aqua terra 38.5 mm. Love it.
Definitely been turning my attention to smaller vintage gold VCs, Pateks, Omegas, and Piaget lately. Great way to wear a beautiful watch and not necessarily attract unwanted attention.
welcome brother lol...vintage is truly better than modern
Great video, very accurate analysis. In my 4.5 years in the game as a watch collector and enthusiast, I collected a lot from amzwatch I was thinking I was able to get a blue SD but I'm not vip enough, but I'm not giving up. Hehe. Great video.
Love the Panther!!!!!
Watches are so delicate and intricately designed, so I have intense respect and admiration for amzwatch watch makers
well said buddy, love this look, looks good, sweeeeeeeet, thanks for the Cartier adventure
Beautiful
The Cartier collection is amazingly classic
We're going to need a Santos review now :) I've recently bought the Medium Green model and I absolutely love it
Great video! I always liked the Santos but this is for sure another one which I am interested in. Where did you get that over shirt from? Really like the colour
always been a big fan of the galbee, caree, panthere, especially in that two tone!
Yeah 2 tone Santos are classic
I love the Panthere and glad to see more men wearing it! It's much more classy than the Santos even though they look similar in shape.
men can wear it but it looks so good on ladies wrist
Love the YG variant. Enjoyed the video and how different to your normal content.
Cartier is something else, same thing happened to me when I wore for the first time the 25.5mm Tank Louis, the tiny timepiece had a powerful effect on me. Aesthetically, it just kicks ass!
Welcome to the world of elegant dress watches. I tried a Santos Dumont in Rose gold. The bug is strong!
I've been a secret admirer of the Cartier Panthere for a long while (as I've got super small wrists) nice to see it's not just my guilty pleasure!
Had a tank for a short while and couldn't get on with it though.
My wife has the small in gold, it’s a beautiful watch. Never considered the medium as a unisex watch, but I’ve never tried it on either. Hmm
Love that thing 👍just the perfect match with jeans and t’shirt ….just like my 1803 😎
I have never been disappointed since I became a customer of amzwatch. Their watches are of exceptional quality.
I really don't care if it's mostly targeted towards women, I think it's a gorgeous piece and would love to see more men wear it. Like just the other day i saw Simon Porte Jacquemus wearing the full gold version with a white tee and white carpenter jeans, looked great!
Love the courage of a full gold watch.
Would be good to see one on a Bark and Jack Nato 👀 talking as a Santos owner
I would go crazy without a running second hand. Lol. I have the Santos large white dial. The butterfly clasp took some getting used to, but I love the watch.
You’re right about the gold content/weight. Shouldn’t cost more than about 4K for the actual gold- and gold is easier to work with than steel… 18ct prices never make sense though.
Adrian, congratulations! You have found an alternative to the vintage Santos 2961 in the Panthere 😆
I love Cartier too 👍 in fact, the bulk of my collection is Cartier.
First men’s wristwatch,
first pilots watch,
first watch to put screws on the bezel…
Agree that Cartier is a legit watchmaker.
The most amazing thing is its secondary watch market prices have recently outperformed Rolex and the holy trinity 😮
Love the concept, i do indulge in this ideology myself from time to time.
"the jeweler of kings and the king of jewelers"
Love your videography & colour grade, can I ask what body you’re using? Any lighting tips? :)
I’m with you on luxury quartz timepiece that acts like jewelry. If there’s no seconds hand ticking away it allows the design to show off its full intention without distraction. I’m totally ok with the no seconds precious metal jammies
Me too :) Something about an all gold Cartier gives off those new money 80's vibes 😅
Gold and vintage looking is back.
Totally agree💯
Excellent review. Such a beautiful watch! Just wondering, what is your wrist size?
I have the Santos as it was my first luxury watch when I was 18 years old. I had a Panthère for a while but I gave it away as it has a quartz movement.
I love this watch. I like the santos too. But this one in gold is perfection. 🤩
Santos is classic
Love it
The solid gold is insanely hot 🔥
Awesome piece of jewellery indeed. I own the two tone Santos but the gold version of the Panther is simply stunning. I would never ever spend 25K€ for this beautiful but yet quartz watch though.
Finally someone I can talk Cartier to!
I agree it’s beautiful. I love the bracelet especially. I have the large Santos and love it, as an aside.
Absolutely beautiful!! Wanted one of these since the 80s but would have to be a second hand one at £10k-£11k 👍
My wife absolutely loves hers!
best watch for ladies!
Amazing video!
I'm counting the days until the VCARB Tudor content!
I agree
It always amazes me how much beauty and precision are added to the parts of MaMaCoo 's watch 99% of people will never see.
Adrian, Keith Richards gave the Cartier 18K Panthere "street cred" a long time ago...if you like it and can afford one, wear it...BTW Eric Ku transitioned from vintage Rolex sport watches to Cartier too, so you're in good company if you go Cartier. Cheers👊
As an older watch enthusiast it’s interesting to observe the gradual changing of taste and how our eye finds a watch design appealing when it didn’t in the past. Gold dress watches and Roman numerals, like Cartier, were popular in the 80s and are surging back in. All the rage with the young and fashionable. I’m not calling it the death of the sports watch but their domination is over.
You're not alone . I with you too .I've been drawn to Cartier despite collecting chunky Divers !
I love the Tank Francaise quartz.
Panthere always looks good in full solid gold…. my mom wore one (the ladies one) back in early 90 in full gold n i always thought that was a very classy Cartier..n now she passed it on to my wife..n my wife is gonna pass it on to our daughter later on… i dont care about the price, if it looks good, i’ll buy it…
The Santos de Cartier is a great all rounder. Two straps. Elegant yet sporty, with 100m wr
So easily a one watch does it all.
Various sizes too.
🥰 Cartier un clásico 👏🏻👏🏻
Cartier Santos and the Dumont with strap options I understand. Not sure about this option, but, I'm glad were all different.
Fun fact, although the gold santos is the famous watch worn by Michael Douglas in Wall Street, Charlie Sheen wore a Panthere in that movie.
I think that this is the closest to the 1978 Santos, which makes me love it so much too
Be sure to let us know how you get your explorer 2 repaired when it happens Adrian. I'd be interested to know 👍
I've always viewed the Carter Panther as the woman's version of the original Santos de Cartier. It's a beautiful watch. An elegant peirce that can be unisex .I've seen many men pull it off.
I'm genuinely impressed with how close MaMaCoo were able to replicate every aspect of this very very goofy looking classic watch.
Cartier are just class
Is that your explorer II ? Back from service ?
No, it's mine (16570). Adrian owns a 226570. Update coming soon.
That gold Panthere is beautiful. But I'm still saving up for Santos de Cartier in medium.
The one in solid gold is pure class.
I prefer the sportiness of the Santos.
Brother love your Omega Seamaster if you own the one in your profile pic
@@WatchClyde I do, thank you!
I think keith Richard wore one, long time ago... Cartier is amazing, they have so many interesting case shapes, and no matter the model, they are all timeless classics! Nobody do that like Cartier! Panthere, Santos, tortue, crash, tank/ Louis/ englaise/francaise/ americaine, baignoire, baignoire allongée, rotonde, Ballon bleu, La Dona, ect....
I absolutely love the Panthere in gold. Stunning watch. I just never buy it at the price because of the quartz movement. I rather buy a vintage gold Santos 2960 which you can get for roughly the same amount.
Also cartier lover ❤ Good taste
I too feel myself more and more drawn to this watch, although I’d need to compare it on the wrist with a Santos and a Tank. I’d only have a quartz Cartier. All my other watches are automatic and having a classy watch with a movement that fundamentally changed the world of watches would round out the collection.
Adrian, I think it’s high time to admit that the watch world is reopening to dress watches. In last 10-20 years watch enthusiasts and people in general were buying bigger watches, sport watches. But we can see slight change of this trend, with Cartier exceeding sales of Omega, with smaller watches trend. I own Cartier Santos de Cartier and can confirm: my god this watch is good, elegant, classy, extremly universal. And! It has no negative „press” that you can face owning a Rolex and other bold watches.
Cartier enables you to dodge all the Rolex vs Omega et al wars, but you are really just paying for the design. There is nothing special about the movement or tech unless you are buying one of their really high end pieces.
@@lamentate07 yeah, and we all buy watches for tech an accuracy 😁 I mean, some watch geeks don’t even set the date right. Of course it is better to have a good movement than not but it is design which is the main point. I can imagine someone buying good looking watch with a shitty movement but cannot imagine buying a watch that you don’t like just for the movement. Cartier is about design, yes, but quality as well. And the movements are ok.
@@KamilOlaf The Santos is a poor value proposition at its current price, for me anyway, but no doubt it's an attractive watch.
I have some decent looking watches that keep shitty time (e.g. Seiko Craftmanship Series), but I didn't pay Santos or Speedmaster money for them.
