It feels strange praising something so gruesome from an actual tragedy, but yeah, it's a really well written and acted scene. It summed up the horror of his crime in a vivid way.
@Laverne Buckner.... I agree. She's so natural in this that it feels like watching a real sister in this situation, both during happy and horrible times. She really did an amazing job! (I think the whole cast did wonderful). Valerie definitely wasn't "acting" here....she became the person she is portraying and she made her real for anyone who sees this movie.
That scene is equally chilling as described in the book by the same name. Peter Maas was a superb reporter and a masterful writer. He died in 2001 at the age of 72. May he rest in peace.

Yeah, too bad they did not fight for her before she married the abusive man. Question her. In our grandparents day, young men and young ladies were checked out by the parents and brothers. Now a young woman would consider that love and concern intrusive and judgemental.
When you raise a psychopath, protecting your son after he has committed murder makes you partly to blame. He tried to murder the women he claimed to love until he finally murdered one. It's a damn shame.

His whole family was more twisted than a roller coaster.
Shoot in the Bible,Your not even supposed to get married again if Your spouse is still living!!! God never meant for people to be married more than once.....

I'm watching this movie with my dad right now. I've seen it many times but he has never watched it before. My father comes from a strong Italian family, like the family portrayed here in this film. I am third generation Italian and my great Aunt Carmella disappeared over thirty years ago. We have never given up the search. My father was close to my aunt, she was my grandma's sister. Although I was young when she disappeared, the search for her lives on. I guess the point of my post here, is that I come from a family who never forgets family. Our family comes from strong Italian roots and we will never give up on finding answers to what happened to our Carmella. She was with an abusive man who married her then disposed of her. Her body was never found, but our search for her has never ended.

Kenny's parents raised a narcissistic killer and were almost given a chance to raise their grandchild the same..I can't believe the shit they almost got away with..laws should be changed..if a parent murders the other parent the parent who committed the murder should have all parental rights taken away..its ridiculous
They were RED at the end during the credits it said all Ken's parental rights were stripped. Thankfully, and he was adopted by Angela and Jerry. He took their last name too.
The judge that gave the adoption just got sloppy and overlooked the fact that the order Celeste was skipping was having to bring the baby to see the man that murdered her sister. Basically, he didn't read the file before making the decision. He just saw ``grandparents vs. aunt & uncle,'' and thought a baby should be with the grandparents, that the grandparents would naturally have a more close bond with a baby.
I agree! The grandparents of the child of a murderer should not have any rights. In many ways they are likely responsible for their sociopathic offspring.
@@KristenHammerback-pk5wy Well that's not how it works even though in this case they shouldn't. It's called grandparent rights which means the grandparents would have a right to visit the child which is what the family was trying to give the grandparents here

@Moriganna Brown... Ikr? Hot in Cleveland is good, but this movie shows how amazing she is. ... I can't sleep without listening to "tv" to fall asleep and I know this movie doesn't seem like a choice to go to sleep to, but there's no commercials, so after seeing it, I listened to it and I swear to god...Valerie sounds so real on this that when you hear her with your eyes closed...it's unbelievable how real she is in this role. I already knew the whole cast did a great job when I watched it, but when you listen and don't watch....Valerie IS Theresa's sister. Damn, sorry for the long comment. "Ikr" just didn't seem like enough though!
Valerie Bertinelli is so talented, I agree! Have you ever seen the TV movie "Victim of Innocence"? She plays the real life psychopathic killer Laurie Dann in such a chilling way!!!
I know right?! In real life, this was Theresa's second pregnancy by Ken. Theresa had an abortion before they got married, they both agreed on it. Also according to the book, Ken claimed to be 'happy' about the second baby at first....but Theresa would later tell people Ken tried to talk her into another abortion.
1st Red flag is when they wanna see ur phone..2nd red flag they start timing u about all the places u may go,even work..3rd red flag they will slowly stop you from hanging out with friends..4th red flag they'll even take u from ur family..the list goes on and on..I love my single life..
Nope - first red flag was at 8:18 when he meticulously polished away the teaspoon of red wine that dropped on the tablecloth at the first family dinner. That freaked me out right there. Sign of out-of-control controlling impulses. With time too, as I suspect. But they don't always go together. I remember distinctly getting beaten with a shoe if the dishes and stored food cupboards weren't orderly.
And they want you to change how you dress. Not necessarily less "sexy" either, it can be they want you to dress 'more sexy' or more attractive. I actually had TWO boyfriends try that crap! But neither one of them dressed even REMOTELY nicely or attractively, yet that was fine. Then, they'll comment on your weight. Too skinny, too fat. Never good enough. Note: Both boyfriends were FAT the whole time I dated them, yet they never seemed to care about it....only my weight mattered. I am SOOOOO glad I broke it off with them. I have been single for many years now, and while occasionally of course, it does get lonely.....but then I remember....them. Then I smile, relieved. :)
Ken was a real POS! His parents weren’t any better. I’m so glad Teresa”s family fought for Andrew. I love these old lifetime movies the new ones are corny

why she show him the earings after she knew he had lied beat and almost kill her. without going to the police first smdh that was just dumb im sorry. dafuq she thought he was gonna react after being caught. he almost killed u the first time for god sakes
According to the book, Theresa never confronted Ken with the earrings on that night. If she ever did, it was before, but not the night of the murder. No one except Ken & Theresa know exactly what happened...but the police think something went wrong between them that night. a fight of some sort. The coroner found lube in Theresa's anal cavity, but no sign of trauma. Her culotte pants were ripped, but still on. Police speculated a consensual sexual act began to take place, but that something wasn't going right' & Ken flew into a rage. Both had traces of cocaine in their system, but that was already known that Theresa used it occasionally while Ken used it more often. One other event seemed to indicate trouble brewing: Earlier on the night of the murder, Theresa & Ken had friends over. They brought cake & had drinks. Theresa claimed Ken made her 'a piece of pork' only so she was hungry. Ken argues that he 'made her a whole dinner'. But then it calmed down again & the women went into the kitchen alone. Theresa suddenly asks "Does your husband like to eat you on your period?" Her friend is grossed out & says "No." Theresa replies "Ken does." A few minutes later, all 4 are talking together & Theresa says something about having cramps from her period. Ken says "You got your period?" She replies "Yes. Its almost over." The male friend saw the look on Ken's face & said to the police "If looks could kill, Theresa was dead right then & there." Wow, its a real shame Theresa didn't get away from that nutball while she could.
I was just going to watch a few minutes. And watched entire thing. Such amazing acting. I forgot how amazing TV movies used to be. And what Lifetime used to be. Wow. Harvey from Cagney and Lacey, Barbara from One Day at a Time and Eliot from SVU!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank God Teresa's sister raised her son.... Her sister never gave up on her getting her nephew home. The wife with the daughter knew something was up when Angela made that phone call to her..
Yeah I agree. She shouldn’t lied to Angela about Ken through the call. That would get them out of this sooner and Theresa would probably still be alive.
My grandmother was like that She could size up a person in 3 seconds flat and she was always right on the money. No suspicions, no probing questions just a look at their face then a look at us Right there we knew she smelled trouble
In a majority of cases yes, but with help through therapy and support they can, now that dosen't mean you should stay in a abusive relationship or environment, it is your choice to stay or go.

Bravo! What an excellent movie! When the great grandfather first met Ken Taylor, he saw evilness in his face and the family thought that he was being a crazy old man. Ken is a professional manipulator and conceivably could convince the Devil himself to commit his evil magic on anyone. All the actors portrayed their roles to perfection and delivered an awesome story. However, in the end, righteousness and truth always prevail!
did anyone else get incredibly ticked off with the tug of war? like we all knew Baby Andrew should have been placed on his mothers side of the family right away and kept there.

We need better programs to help the abused. I am still in abusive relationship because after 20 years of abuse and being disabled it really difficult to start your life over. The abuser sets up the victim up against other family member so they can not get emotional support from them. Prayers to all other victims. 🙏🏻
We need to outlaw straight couples. How can you avoid abuse in these unequal relationships when one member of the couple is taller, heavier, much stronger, more aggressive and generally has more money than the other? A man literally looks down on his wife. Stop the straights!

That scene when the parents turnoff the light in the bedroom, STILL GIVES ME NIGHTMARES!!!!!! Anyone else?
Yes, it really scared me as a kid. I was freaked out. The music during that scene did not help.
It feels strange praising something so gruesome from an actual tragedy, but yeah, it's a really well written and acted scene. It summed up the horror of his crime in a vivid way.
I saw the original forensics pictures years ago. I'm sure its out there. Was awful
As a kid, I was that scene scared the crap out of me.

Thought this was a very well done movie. Bertinelli and Meloni really show what fabulous actors they both are.
Valerie Bertonelli is wonderful! Beautiful inside and out!!
This is a Good movie. Valerie Bertinelli's performance is OUTSTANDING.👍
Yeah it was. She was amazing in this movie. one of her best roles

One of the best tv movies ever made. So sad, unforgettable, and victorious for the family in the end.

Yes, I agree, it is a very sad story and unfortunately it is a true story...
Jennifer Latona and.
Yeah, too bad they did not fight for her before she married the abusive man. Question her. In our grandparents day, young men and young ladies were checked out by the parents and brothers. Now a young woman would consider that love and concern intrusive and judgemental.
Jennifer Latona they raised Andrew.
When I saw her father cry it broke my heart.
When you raise a psychopath, protecting your son after he has committed murder makes you partly to blame. He tried to murder the women he claimed to love until he finally murdered one. It's a damn shame.
Yeah
Just like Chris Watt's mother. She said how she still loved her son. He murdered her grandchildren, but she still loved him.
@Lisa Foster Yeah, they were sociopaths at best. Thank God and the justice system that the little boy was removed from them & the murderer stripped of all parental rights! I just wanted that kid kept FAR away from that sick & evil family!!

It's these enabling parents who give kids the message that there are no consequences for their actions that create entitled narcissists & sociopaths who place blame on everyone else to make themselves look innocent or justified in their deeds.
@@DonnaBrooks I know right and in the end when it said that Andrew Taylor has been legally adopted by Angela and Jerry Cimarelli and that Kenneth Taylor's murder conviction was upheld by the New Jersey Court of Appeals and that he has been stripped of all parental rights, it didn't say what happened to the rest of the Taylors (his parents, his brother, his ex-wife or his daughter) after that.

Great movie. I am glad she got her sister child at the end.
Fighting for what is right is worth it!! I'm happy the sister never gave up and won!!! 😀

I love happy endings. I know your sister is with the Lord now and her baby is now with you. God Bless you.
I was just going to watch a few minutes. And watched entire thing. Such amazing acting. I forgot how amazing TV movies used to be. And what Lifetime used to be. Wow.

Thank God Teresa's sister raised her son.... Her sister never gave up on her getting her nephew home. The wife with the daughter knew something was up when Angela made that phone call to her..
You are right but she should have told the truth in order to save another woman from this horrible hell.
Yeah I agree. She shouldn’t lied to Angela about Ken through the call. That would get them out of this sooner and Theresa would probably still be alive.

In a majority of cases yes, but with help through therapy and support they can, now that dosen't mean you should stay in a abusive relationship or environment, it is your choice to stay or go.

One of my favorite lifetime movies of all time! I just found out last month the name of the movie. I just remember the storyline and who played in it, and the most standout part in the movie to me when I was a child, was the blood highlighted in the dark.
Oommg mee to!!! I was looking for this movie forever i could not remember the name to save my life lol!!! All i could remember was the highlight of the blood. its such a great movie!!
Rebekah McBurnett you should buy the book, its also a brilliant but upsetting read
HOW IRONIC!!! I JUST asked my brother what the name of this movie was and ALL i could remember was the blood scene!! Now here i am watching it like 10 years later lol
This was a TV movie but it didn’t originate on lifetime. ABC and other networks had movies of the week. Reality tv pushed those out of the way

Definitely one of the best Lifetime movies! This guy was an absolute monster like Chris Watts! We have to continue to fight for women who are abused!!!
And men
We need better programs to help the abused. I am still in abusive relationship because after 20 years of abuse and being disabled it really difficult to start your life over. The abuser sets up the victim up against other family member so they can not get emotional support from them. Prayers to all other victims. 🙏🏻
@@lulubelljingles9701 Men can defend themselves, so give me a break!
We need to outlaw straight couples. How can you avoid abuse in these unequal relationships when one member of the couple is taller, heavier, much stronger, more aggressive and generally has more money than the other? A man literally looks down on his wife. Stop the straights!
@@jessiem276 men go through mental and physical abuse too. One of my old neighbours used to be so vile to her husband. Shouting and screaming at him for no reason. And the novel hints (not reveals, but hints) more strongly that Ken's mother might have sexually abused him by performing oral sex on him when he was very young. It was never confirmed though, so who knows what is true.

A lot was horrible true stories
any spouse that kills another and they have kids together should be stripped of their rights to see the children. this was a very sad movie because not only was the poor mother killed but she was being attacked by her crazy husband after death. the courts in Indiana kept changing the rules as they pleased. those people in Indiana were crazy as hell . they were trying to protect a man who was found guilty of murdering his wife . no matter how he said things happened it wasn't the truth and those damned people believed him
Teresa should have left ken as soon as she saw that he was using drugs and then she found out she was pregnant.when she saw that he was using more and more drugs and she found those bills for sluts. and when she saw the earrings saw were her grandmothers that he said was stolen she then realized he was the one who beat her up in Acapulco. she didn't remember because he beat her up really bad or she was denying it to herself. she should have not provoked him by putting on the earrings.she should have taken the baby when he was asleep and gone to her parents house and filed for a divorce. she then would have been alive.
also the fact that if kens ex wife would have told angelas family the truth Teresa would have also been alive
