I love this franchise. For me, Descendants 2 has the best soundtrack in the franchise and one of the best Disney Channel Original Movies and is my favorite movie in the trilogy.

The books for this series adds an interesting layer of darkness to the movies. Like in the books it’s revealed all they have on the isle is the garbage from Auradon so if they wanted some antibacterial wipes they’d be dry and used. Same with all the food. And Harry Hook from the second movie carry’s around the hook because he wants to be like his dad and at one point tried to get a gator to eat his hand just like what happened to his dad

just started reading the series. on book 2. had to skip book 1, because it wasn't in the library that day. going back to it later. so excited! loved all 3 movies, but #3 left me unsure about my feelings with some of the songs, as well as the wardrobe choices for Mal. check out where the zipper is next time you watch. you'll see what i mean. 😳

@@Pokiandi If you're talking about the zipper on Mal's pants in the third movie, her pants zip from behind, and you can't see the zipper pull, though you *can* see the rest of it... Tells me the pull is where the sun don't shine, if you know what I mean.

the universe of this series had so much pottential, but they never quite reached it for me, the third movie especially was very much not the best, it had good moments though and i love the songs, but get into it girl love that

I always find it weird how in this movie Beast is so against having the VKs coming over to try to redeem themselves cause he was a villain himself so if anyone would have sympathy for them it would be him.
I don’t think he was actually a villain, just a beast. Imagine being cursed by a witch and you had to suffer for yearsss. I mean I’ll probably be hesitant like him

He wasn't evil to be a villain. He was a spoiled brat that needed to be taught a lesson.
He and Belle were done dirty by the Descendants writers. Beast is a prejudiced hypocrite who seems to have learned nothing from his character arc, and Belle is a generic suburban mom with no personality. At least in the novel _Isle of the Lost_ Belle still loves to read and shares that love with her son.
As many have said the books add such a dark layer and context to the universe. Like the isle eating trash and leftovers from auradon and how actually horrible their parents are with Carlos’s mom being the worst. i highly recommend atleast the first book to anyone interested in more lore behind this. Bc it’s so interesting and honestly heartbreaking at times.

The idea of the fairytale kids wasnt disneys idea, it was mattel who did it first with ever after high and i honestly like both, but because of desendants ever after high was cancelled so... i have mixed feelings :/

@@rxbeccarose especially since ever after high was so good and was going to have a cross over with monster high and people are hoping if the og monster high reboot they are doing goes well we will get ever after high back too! It was actually a quite good show!
At least Descendants doesn’t have incest like Ever After High did (Raven talks about it in the first book)
lmaooo in the scene where ben's going down the line and giving all the villains handshakes i have ALWAYS said it seemed like literally all of them instantly had more chemistry with him than audrey did during the entire film, i'm glad to hear im not the only one who thought that!

Here’s a theory I’ve had since the first movie came out concerning the song evil like me… maleficent says “promise me you’ll try to be an absolute disgrace “ if you think about it what’s the one thing a villain would find disgraceful for their children to do? Turn good right… so in reality Mal followed her mothers advice… even if it’s in her head
I technically "aged out" of Disney Channel at like 15, but you can bet I was watching all three of these films premiere night, I know every song by heart, such a freaking GOOD series!!

Being a High School Musical fan and knowing this was directed and choreographed by Kenny Ortega made me right away want to see it and I loved it for those reasons and so much more. It was a great story and I love the characters. It’s in my top Disney channel movie franchises, after HSM of course. Thanks for reacting to this, was great to have another positive reaction to this story.
1:24 Evil villains having children is logical. Some Disney heroes & princesses actually had children before Descendants came out. Examples:
LION KING: Simba & Nala had a son & daughter named Kion & Kiara
LITTLE MERMAID: Prince Eric & Ariel had a daughter named Melody
When did Simba and Nala have a son? I remember Kiara cuz of the second movie, but never heard anything about Kion..

Simba and Nala had another son named Kovu...

I have a habit of really loving the final songs in all the Descendants movies but other than that I'd say the song 'Did I Mention' Ben sings to Mal is a runner up 😂 it's so cheesy but cute and it's always stuck in my head for a while.

I genuinely enjoyed the trilogy! I know the third one isn't liked as much by most but I liked it, definitely isn't the best one but it was still good in my opinion.

The Descendants Trilogy is the best that Disney Channel brought in terms of current movies, all three are good and enjoyable and I think the best would be 3 since it had a good outcome and developed Mal and the other characters in a good way, good video reaction

I love how you caught the comparison between Troy and Gabriella and Ben and Mal, because this was directed by the same guy who directed all three High School Musicals, Kenny Ortega. Its why you also see similarities in the dance numbers, given he also choreographed HSM.

I was a teenager when I saw the first one, and although I'm an adult now, I still frickin' love these movies and think the concept was a very cool and welcoming one in my opinion.
