Hi, Yes, different brands seem to have different actual sizes for the #'s. Mine was at least an inch wide. I do this painting a lot with my 1/2 in wide flat bristle brush too... I like the fluff I get on the snow better with the bristle brush. Have fun!

I volunteer paint instruction to the elderly at my community. This painting would be such a great one for my group to paint. They range in age from 73 to 85. Good kids. I would like your permission to use this instruction for my class. I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance.
Hi Luana, you can certainly teach this class to your elder community as a volunteer. Thank you for reaching out and asking. I wish you the best and I hope everything goes well and everyone has a good time. Would love to hear how it turns out.
I have a question ! Okay this is cute and at some point,,,,I will do it,,,I have never painted before so it’s good practice,,,,but that bird and bird house are definitely not the right perspective/ dimensions ,,,,,,,,so I don’t understand why you did that. Can you please explain! Artistic license !
Hes a lovely snowman, I cant even draw a circle. Your the only person I know that has a magic wine glass, It doesnt seem to matter how many glugs you have , it just doesnt go down. maybe your easel dranksome before you came in the studio an thats why its tipsy.
I just found your channel, and I’m so thankful that I did! Shadowing has always been my weakest link in painting. You explained it so well and I’ve learned so much! Thank you so much!
OMG! Are you from the country? I live in the Ozarks, so I'm very hillbilly! I put ice in my wine and everyone teases me! I do it for 2 reasons, to cool it and keep it cool AND to water it down some! I'm not a lover of wine, but do like some sweet reds, but they're a tad bit too strong flavored for me! I don't care if it's not sophisticated! I only do it at home or a friend's! LOL
Wonderful! We know you paint almost every day (all painters do) so keep the video's coming! This was an adorable snowman choice. Thank you so very much!
Hi Micheline, Most canvas already come primed these days. If it is already primed it will be white on the front side and tan (raw canvas) on the back side. If it's not already primed, than you'll want to prime it with a product called gesso. Have fun painting!
I just painted this, I can't stop showing everybody. My snowman is so imperfect and yet so comically cute! I quit trying to paint a perfect painting and I just had fun learning new techniques and making a wintery buddy for my home! I love it!!! I can't believe I watched this whole video! I'm so happy how this turned out!
What brand of acrylics do you prefer? I have a large set of Arteza but they appear much thicker than the ones you use. I apologize if this has been asked and answered before, I couldn’t locate it. Thank you.
Hi, for these tutorials I'm using a thin bodied student grade paint from Blick Materials called Blickrylics. Great tutorial, I did this with my 17 and 12 year old daughters and it turned out great
Hi I'm a new subscriber from England, Just to say I've really enjoyed watching this video , you remind me of the late Ross , I feel awful because is second name as just escaped me , but you have the same technique as him , I've been watching some old videos of his that's appeared on our TV , such a talented man , anyway I look forward to catching up on your videos 🤗, Thanks for sharing 😊👍♥️, Take Care and Stay Safe xx
Thanks for subbing and watching my videos!
Love the class, you are such a good teacher!
Thank you so much!
I really enjoyed your class. I’ve done a few online classes since covid, and you are the best teacher!! Explaining everything so well!! Thank you!!
@@michellethepainter. how do you keep your acrylics from drying out or do paint very quickly? Thx!
Thank you so much from TURKİYE. İ do This painting and i cant believe. İts so beautiful.
Thank you so much 😀
I’m a new subscriber. The cutest little snowman. Thanks for the easy to follow directions.😍
Umm somethings wrong here.. my #12 flat synthetic is half that size .. Mater Touch brand fro hobby Lobby
Hi, Yes, different brands seem to have different actual sizes for the #'s. Mine was at least an inch wide. I do this painting a lot with my 1/2 in wide flat bristle brush too... I like the fluff I get on the snow better with the bristle brush. Have fun!
I just stumbled across your channel and I'm so glad I did. I love your teaching methods and how well you explain everything. I look forward to going back and watching your previous videos. I absolutely love the snowman! Thanks for sharing! I am now a subscriber and look forward to some more Christmas videos.
Awesome! Thank you!
Nice sharing,great video,thanks for sharing very nice❤️❤️..❤️❤️🙂👍.......
Thank you so much 🙂
Loved this and finally painted my own snowman. It was difficult because I did a small canvas 8x8 but I’m planning on doing several Christmas themed on 8x8 to hang together by the Christmas tree. Thanks for this tutorial!
Hi Dawn I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….🌹🌹
I'm so excited I ordered the paint to do a dozen smaller version 8x10 for family for Christmas 2022!!!!
Have fun!
can this be done in oil? Hope so.
Hi Kimberly, Sure, you can do it in oil, but you'll have to take more time between steps to let the previous layer dry a bit. Have fun!
How 183 people didnt like this boggles the brain. Its a snowman. It wasn't a surprise you were doing a snowman....well I will add 183 more likes.....lol....love this guy.....hes adorable
That's sweet... thanks for the support!
I love this! I’m gonna give it a try! My very first painting!
I just found this video looking for something else and am thrilled with your painting lesson! You make it look so easy so I must subscribed 😃
Thank you so much!
Hi Elerrina, Yes, just being creative and having fun. Hope you enjoy the process!
Hes a lovely snowman, I cant even draw a circle.
Your the only person I know that has a magic wine glass, It doesnt seem to matter how many glugs you have , it just doesnt go down. maybe your easel dranksome before you came in the studio an thats why its tipsy.
Thanks Doreen... glad you had fun watching!
You can always trace something to make a perfect circle like a plate or a lid in the kitchen.
:)
No more sipping for you! Lol Just kidding. Glad I found you! You are a great teacher!
Thank you!
I just found your channel, and I’m so thankful that I did! Shadowing has always been my weakest link in painting. You explained it so well and I’ve learned so much! Thank you so much!
You are so welcome!
LOL
Yup.... all country!
I really enjoyed this so much and going to try it out with my grade ones. Will have to keep wine in a cool drink bottle 😉😁
Have fun!
Michaelle I'm learning so much from you . I want to thank you . And wanted to ask if you can do a native American woman. With head dress. Thank you.
Great suggestion!
Wonderful! We know you paint almost every day (all painters do) so keep the video's coming! This was an adorable snowman choice. Thank you so very much!
I just love your snowman. It has given me the inspiration to pick up my brushes again.
Thank you so much.
Thank you! I did this painting and hosted a virtual paint night with my co-workers. It was fun!
Question - you list a primed canvas. Do they all come that way? If not, can I simply use primer to prep? Thanks. I look forward to trying this!
Hi Micheline, Most canvas already come primed these days. If it is already primed it will be white on the front side and tan (raw canvas) on the back side. If it's not already primed, than you'll want to prime it with a product called gesso. Have fun painting!
I'm new to your channel! I'm so glad I found it! I'm so excited, can't want to do this snowman! Thank you for sharing this ❣🙂
🥂🧡
They don't have the best pigment, but I like the consistency for layering and blending affects. I sell small sample sizes of the colors I use on my website (link below) if you want to try them before you invest in the larger bottles.
Have fun painting!
