    Hello again Michelle. This one really captures the feeling of when I was a child. And hurry to bed because he is coming soon.put out the milk and cookies, we didn’t worry about the reindeer then. Will have to add this to my arsenal,lol. Don’t go and add too many colors. We have all that we need if we mix. But of course then we don’’t know for sure if it’s as yours is. But isn’t that all the fun.....thank you Michelle. A true COVID relief duster.

    I know this video is a couple yrs old so not sure if you'll read this, with so many new videos and comments... but just needed to say, I enjoyed doing this scene, I did two at the same time, while one was drying tackle the other, then return back to the first one, then return to the other with each step. One of the scene I added an extra tree to the left since that canvas was much longer... Both came out absolutely beautiful! One I hung at my best friends living room, so when she woke up, and walked into the living room she saw it, her face was priceless. And the other one will be shipped to my son as a Christmas gift. Both were done on a larger canvas then yours, so I was a bit nervous about keeping the perspective correct. But thankfully it turned out perfect on both counts due to you making "markers", to show where things should be etc. I also did the one with Santa holding the ornament... did two of those at the same time as well, I added different dogs on each representing each of my sons dogs... both will be mailed to them as Christmas gifts. Can't wait to hear their reactions when then receive them. Thank you a millions times over for taking time to do these fabulous tutorials. I been told over and over to go to an art school, but honestly I think they will only confuse me with technical mumbo jumbo regarding techniques and color charts etc.... my best teachers has been on youtube like yourself!!!!!! Once again THANK YOU..... And many blessings your way

    • @michellethepainter.
      @michellethepainter.  3 года назад

      Hi Jane, That's such a loaded question...lol! Everyone has a personal preference on how they like to work with different size canvasses and the studio space that they have to work in. So really the best recommendation that I would give to you is find the style that is most conducive to your space and habits. I love to work on large canvasses so I have a heavy duty H-Frame easel. But if you work small on a table, you'd do great with a simple wood table-top easel. I know you were looking for a more specific answer, but there's too many out there for me to like just one, but I hope my tips help you a little during your decision process. Thanks for watching!

    I truly enjoyed the painting process until my snow overtook the water and I lost perspective. I pondered what to do about this. I didn't want to trash the canvas and begin again. It's Christmas week. I decided to be courageous and risk all by painting over the entire bottom third in white Yep. I repainted from the horizon line down. Fingers crossed. When it's dry, I will begin from there again. Of course, tree tops remain. I liked my trees and don't mind redoing the bottoms. I love your painting and want mine to look similar. Maintaining perspective is my #1 challenge. I practice daily, but don't see much improvement yet. I'm no quitter. Onward and upward!
    Thank you for this site and for sharing your talent and explaining so well.

      J'attendais également ces fameuses toiles sur le thème de Noël.
      Notre Michelle est vraiment formidable et sympa et a cette façon très particulière de peindre.
      Je prends beaucoup de plaisir à regarder ses vidéos qui me détendent et me donne de la joie.
      Je suis contente de savoir qu'une autre française s'intéresse à cette artiste que je pense aimable et dynamique avec un gentil côté enfantin. Merci à Notre MICHELLE et merci à Vous Christiane pour avoir laissé ce petit signe sympa.

    All of your paintings are absolutely gorgeous , but this one is so sweet right down to the very last detail! I think the care and love you put into Rudolph's nose really says much about the type of painter you are. I love it all but actually, Rudolph's nose is my very favorite part! :-)

    You are such a great teacher, and I was able to recreate your painting effortlessly. Only thing that frustrated me was the last 10 minutes or so, the video is choppy...so I wasn't able to watch your technique of adding the highlighted snow. Or maybe it's just me, since I've had quite a few sips during the tutorial haha

    I am VERY ANTI-Xmas, however, if I take away the sled and the reindeers, this is one of the top 10 paintings in my 2020 :D 💜 I really love a cool winter scene with a dashing moon ;) and this sky is so, so stunning :) 💜
    Beautiful work Michelle! 💜
