Funny story, I actually used to know the guy Kim Possible fan artist you mentioned. He was a sub at my school district and the incident happened like a year after I graduated. He was my favorite, in fact, because he used to draw various cartoon characters on the board before class started and seemed to be a really nice guy. His whole breakdown was really sad to watch.
My mom did a lot of online surveys and stuff in the early internet of the 2000s, one of them was a company that found test audiences for pilots and concepts, the KH test animation was one she showed me. Even as a kid who loved Kingdom Hearts the show seemed weird( didn't follow the plot of KH1), so I rated it negatively, and it became a bizarre piece of history trapped in my brain, never to be seen again. But I'm glad to see it see the light of day.
AYO if this is true you're brave to admit that cause a lot of fans wanted it. Personally? From what I saw in the animatic i'm happy we didn't get it as much as I love KH.

its been a good year for lost media.....I dont know why these things suddenly start cropping up out of nowhere, but its good to see them regardless and the future for other interesting lost things are getting more optimistic :D
Watching that Kingdom Hearts pilot felt like such a triumph after seeing you cover it all those years ago. I would've eaten it up as a kid, hell, I'd love to see an animated adaptation of KH still.
That creepy beer ad for the Simpson's is a very interesting concept, considering it's almost entirely lifted from the classic Mexican novella by Carlos Fuentes, "Aura." I'm sure that was definitely the inspiration for that ad. Always fun seeing something inspired by that great story
Holy shit I knew that guy with the Kim Possible truck. He would pop up as a substitute teacher back in my high school over a decade ago, and was allegedly a filler artist for cartoons to explain his truck and art skills. He seemed alright at the time but apparently did some unhinged shit outside of his subbing job. Can't remember much of those details but he did a nice full-page drawing of Gir in my yearbook at the time.
A Kingdom Hearts anime for Disney+ could be pretty good imo now that Disney is being more open to working with anime studios. They could tap into that market if they wanted

For real, as someone who watched Pans og cover of the pilot before it was found, hoped that it would surface. And I'm so grateful it has and now is preserved. Sometime's friends are your power.

That's so funny. I actually thought the goofier western cartoony look of Sora and Riku in the pilot was really charming and I'd prefer it over a basic anime style lol
As a massive KH fan since childhood, i was like, so hyped for the pilot finally being released, it is so strange but they pulled it off really well, and i'm sad it never amounted to anything.
I'm gonna wager my guess of the plot of the Scooby Doo anime invasion film and say the plot involved the gang meeting the creator of a massive and beloved Anime franchise, who's characters seem to be coming to life and causing mayhem in the city, likely an attempt to sabotage said anime creator.
or like how the characters from the manga pages were printed out in Teen Titans Trouble in Tokyo. Then it's revealed that some co-creator or artist wanted to sabotage the printing or finale cause the creator chose a different draft.
18:08 Seth Kearsley writes Kairi better in this one scene of her kicking a Heartless than Tetsuya Nomura ever did in the 3 mainline games. Heck, the manga has her being written better, too. Her briefly getting killed off in KH3 was so fucking stupid...Nomura cearly had zero direction with her.
Surprised you didn't mention the Powerpuff Girls interview with Robert Osbourne on TCM. They promoted the movie with the Wizard of Oz singalong. That deserves to be seen in full, only found scant clips online.

(The other being Jack Black, which, I admit could be Nostalgia since I was watching the KCA's for two of Jack's 3 shows.)

@@theradionicrevival8068 the sonic games' english dubs are usually produced with a non-union format which means the VAs are paid less, and drummond apparently became a union VA so he was kicked out and replaced with jason griffith alongside an onslaught of actors from the 4kids dub then for colors they were all recasted again and the games seem to now be done with union since the voice actor for sonic, roger craig smith, has been in union stuff like regular show
I can imagine the lost kingdom hearts pilot being polished and having a lot of the aesthetic you'd expect in Eight Crazy Nights, based on the style the pilot had. I kind of hope someone does polish these animatics now that they've been found. I expect the fluid animation would have been jarring for fans who expected a more anime aesthetic, but enjoyable for fans like me, even growing up, who loved American animations like Iron Giant and Eight Crazy Nights to bits.

OK Pan. I have a midnight Society moment I’d like to share with you so hopefully you get to read this. it’s a long one and a little hard to explain so bear with me. OK so all the way back around 2001-2002 ish, one evening on Cartoon Network. I was watching Dragon Ball Z. I specifically remember it was the episode where the cell games were just about to start. The narrator had just begun talking as he usually does at the end of every DBZ episode. The audio started cutting out however and then before the episode ended it cut to the Cartoon Network technical difficulties screen. Which at the time was just the Cartoon Network logo hovering in a desert background with complete silence. Which was a little unnerving not gonna lie (I was a kid who was easily scared) I decided to wait it out. After 10 minutes I got bored and I just decided to turn the TV off and go play video games or something. about an hour later I got curious to see if it went away. I turned my TV back on only to see that the same exact DBZ episode from earlier was on. Not only that but the same exact thing happened again. The audio cut out as soon as the episode was almost over and that same technical difficulties screen came back on. It was really weird. I don’t know if anyone has experienced something like this before I’m not sure if this is some kind of oversight on the networks part or some thing. But if anyone else remembers this please let me know.
Similarish story here, i remember a few times in the mid 2010s, cartoon network had fucked up somehow and for half an hour to an hour played the same 3 adult swim ads on loop in lower than normal quality.
@@tefnutofhoney2832 same time frame but I vaguely remember for their last block (Clone Wars) before Adult Swim began (so around 8-9pm eastern time, based on where I lived then), Clone Wars kept stuttering and I think restarted at the beginning of the episode? Same, but Too Bad we Never get to Remember the Deviantart Artist's Username and it’s Unknown if The his art style Was Accurate to The Actual Kim Possible Show 😞😔
I think that there's a Kingdom Heart's show in development for Disney +, but it was great to see what a Kingdom Hearts series could be after the first game.
You know what I'd like to find one day? There was some animated beer commercial from somewhere between the 60's and 70's, maybe early 80's, of some vividly drawn girl caricature trying to talk about the product but she kept violently turning into a duck and dramatically going "WAAAAAAH!!!" uncontrollably then turning back to a human. And her catch phrase was "what can I say about ___?" But every time she would beg the question "what can I say" she'd turn into a duck again and scream "WAAAAAAHHH!!!" violently. If memory serves she had these big lucid eyes and baby doll like hair, and the animation was along the lines of Roger Ramjet on LSD. It was in some documentary about animation. Maybe some college students, maybe a famous artsy animator, but that's the first I ever saw it, I didn't catch the name of the documentary when Mt mom was channel surfing, and she was so off put she changed the channel
7:52 Pan, I've been going through my old Canal 7 Simpsons vhs for years now, the amount of wacky commercials I've seen, I'm sure I'll eventually run into that commercial cus I'm sure I've seen it as well. :D
I briefly talked to Seth Kearsely recently. I just let him know how much it meant to us fans to see the pilot he made. I'm sure many other fans agree that we're glad he pulled through his accident too. He also tried to get his own series Willy Nilly greenlit on Netflix, but they didn't bite apparently. I saw the pilot for that too and it looked pretty good! You guys should see it when you get the chance. Maybe it'll get picked up by a different studio or streaming service.
I remember when Pan talked about the Kingdom Hearts pilot being Lost Media before. It's satisfying to see previously Lost Media being found, especially on this channel.
HELL FUCKIN YEAH MAN some good content to watch while drawing. About the PSA you're thinkin of: Idk how it is in Mexico but I know that in my country it is actually fairly easy to contact TV Stations via social media/email. If you wanna check the TV Azteca PSA you could give it a shot and email 'em! Cannot guarantee anything, but there's a possibility they may help you out with it, usually these sort of stuff gets preserved.
April 18, 1942 was the Dolittle raid. The raid that did very little damage, a better reffrence would be the Firebombing of Tokyo , that did more damage
If anyone is curious, there is a 1 minute, 48 second clip of the Rosie/Angelica interview on RUclips. But it's only the ending of the broadcast. That's all I can find.
Disney surprisingly has alot of respect for square & normura only using the franchise when he's involved. If anyone else made kh. They probably run it into the ground with zero input form the creators.
Now this is an amazing Halloween! Lost Media once again instead of a 'Worst Cartoon Ever' episode to end off Gothtober 2022! And kudos to Sean Kearsley for releasing the lost Kingdom Hearts Disney Channel Cartoon pilot! Btw, why the hell does Rosie O'Donnell look like Michael Jackson in the thumbnail?
Hold on a minute, Did deviantArt change its policies on deactivated accounts artwork? When you deactivated, the images used to all stay up but iirc highly get suppressed in the algorithm. I left after their new layout change, so I just went back to see if I could find any from deactivated accs in my favorites (like they used to be) but it seems they actually delete the pages now...
It’s insane how much Kevin smith used to make. He could make a game just for his friends. Now he won’t even hire a real cinematographer or rent good cameras for his movies
There was this animated anti smoking ad that I saw on tv every day when I was a kid in the 2000s (also, I live in the US), but I can not for the life of me find it online. These teenagers drive up in a car and offer some kids cigarettes. It looked like something animated by Don Hertzfeldt or a pop tart ad, completely white background with black shakey outlines. This thing was so prominent that it even played in theaters before the trailers.

Same, but Too Bad we Never get to Remember the Deviantart Artist's Username and it’s Unknown if The his art style Was Accurate to The Actual Kim Possible Show 😞😔
I want a Kingdom Hearts cartoon/anime more than ever.
In your Rugrats video, I thought you included the actual clip of the Rugrats/Rosie talk show. Must have been something else.
20:26 of course Tetsuya Nomura didn’t like this, if there’s one thing that’ll always be a given it’s that Nomura ruins everything.
word dont even get me started haha
LMFAO amen
I've been waiting so long for Midnight society! Thanks Taxi
Early/Mid 2000s were the peak of lost media
Tbh I Agree
It truly was a Disney historical moment at 9 pm, when the kingdom hearts pilot was uploaded
im glad the guy survived the car crash
7:52 Pan, I've been going through my old Canal 7 Simpsons vhs for years now, the amount of wacky commercials I've seen, I'm sure I'll eventually run into that commercial cus I'm sure I've seen it as well. :D
The segment about the guy in the sonic costume is fucking interesting as fuck.
Everyones reactions hearing about the guys actual job is something
I briefly talked to Seth Kearsely recently. I just let him know how much it meant to us fans to see the pilot he made. I'm sure many other fans agree that we're glad he pulled through his accident too. He also tried to get his own series Willy Nilly greenlit on Netflix, but they didn't bite apparently. I saw the pilot for that too and it looked pretty good! You guys should see it when you get the chance. Maybe it'll get picked up by a different studio or streaming service.
This makes this year’s Halloween even better
I remember when Pan talked about the Kingdom Hearts pilot being Lost Media before. It's satisfying to see previously Lost Media being found, especially on this channel.
Warner bros., just give us a "Looney Tunes + Kingdom Hearts" already.
Keep up the great work my guy you never miss and this is a true Halloween treat!
Yes! Midnight Society Returns!
México
@@blehindableh Sorry, pronunciation force of habit.
I love Lost Media it’s my favorite
Decent video! Thanks for uploading!
Sonic on a talkshow is pretty amazing 10:05 😂
That's an amazing childhood dream lol.
Noice. Although, Square and Nomura never saw this.
A full episode featuring Sonic has been found!
Thanks for sharing another great video with us Pan, cya next time Mr.Juice & Jam and Happy Halloween!
One of my favorite lm that hopes to be found one day is the acceleracers toonami bumps. Because most I found were promos only
7:31 I remembered that transforming ring for Halloween episode for all those years. Glad it's brought back to my memory
8 Crazy Nights came up more often in this video than I thought it would
I thought that was Sonic meeting Professor Snape in the thumbnail xD
Disney surprisingly has alot of respect for square & normura only using the franchise when he's involved. If anyone else made kh. They probably run it into the ground with zero input form the creators.
Now this is an amazing Halloween! Lost Media once again instead of a 'Worst Cartoon Ever' episode to end off Gothtober 2022! And kudos to Sean Kearsley for releasing the lost Kingdom Hearts Disney Channel Cartoon pilot!
Btw, why the hell does Rosie O'Donnell look like Michael Jackson in the thumbnail?
I feel like a crime scene cleaner could be what the guy behind the supervillain Scarebear from Venture Bros. does when not out as Scarebear
WAKE UP EVERY PONY! NEW PAN PIZZA VIDEO, AND IT'S FROM THE MIDNIGHT SOCIETY TOO! HAPPY HALLOWEEN REBEL TAXI SQUADRON! 🚕🚖🖤💛🍕🎃🧛🏾♂️🦇🩸💉🧟♂️🧟♀️🧛♂️🧛♀️👻
Now he won’t even hire a real cinematographer or rent good cameras for his movies
the bumpers in this one are sooo good man nice work
Love the lost media videos
*9:33** Pan is a man of culture lmfao*
There was this animated anti smoking ad that I saw on tv every day when I was a kid in the 2000s (also, I live in the US), but I can not for the life of me find it online. These teenagers drive up in a car and offer some kids cigarettes. It looked like something animated by Don Hertzfeldt or a pop tart ad, completely white background with black shakey outlines. This thing was so prominent that it even played in theaters before the trailers.
El comercial de azteca 7 no me lo esperaba, fue curioso empezar a ver referencias a un canal local de la nada
in case no one has already said it:bevery time you do a video on lost media, it leads to some of it being found
0:58 “while no footage exists”
Thank god
