Gregory P. Smith That 'Boyne City man' was state senator William Pierson who deeded what was known as 'Polack Hill' to the Boyne founders for $1. Deemed unfarmable by adjacent Polish farmers due to its pitch, the hill was to become Hemlock, Boyne's first Alpine pitch when it opened in 1948. Senator Pierson, a respected and astute statesman from a now bygone era, no doubt suspected these Detroit-based investors with a dream, might some day impact the local economy----which was dormant during the dark ages of the winter months. For the record, the rest of the story: The Boyne Mountain Resort was originally co-developed by Everett Kircher, Jim Christianson and John Norton. The group purchased the site for $1 in 1947 from Michigan Senator William Pierson and opened it as a ski resort in 1948.[4] The founders acquired the first chairlift ever built (from Sun Valley, Idaho) and moved it to Boyne Mountain where parts are still in use today.
It took me 40 years but I finally mastered Stein's way of skiing. But within a few more years, I had to give up this wonderful winter sport as age caught up with me.

Over 50+ years, I watched Stein ski, no one can ski like he can!!!! I wish I can own some of the filming. Simply beautiful abd exciting.
Thanks, Kinya
Why would you want to ski like Stein? Massive upper body rotation, arms flaying, and skis so close you need your balls removed to to it!
Xtra long poles, reverse shoulder, and the mambo....ahhh yes, skiing has evolved.
Which movie is this from?
Reverse shoulder!!!, Anyone ski like him? Keep showing him skiing. Thanks, Kinya
