Great video. I have around 80 babies. My pair is alone in the tank with only one cleaner fish. I am feeding them with egg yolk, I hope that is ok food for the fries? 🧐
Nice, that's a lot of them! I've never tried feeding egg yolk. I've seen a video where someone used it for goldfish fry. So my guess is that it would be fine but I have not done much research on that.
Oh wow that's a lot! I usually have between 50-75 I'd estimate but my female is pretty small. The parents I have take great care of mine but I have loaches in the tank so most don't live past a week. I plan to setup a smaller tank soon to be able to raise more. Is there anything else in your tank besides the parents?
@@TheAquaticCoder Firstly thanks for the reply! 😃 It was actually a surprise for me....i have a 75 gallon tank with blood parrots(4) , platinum parrots and Polar Blue.....i have a bunch of decor too...... One morning i suddenly saw all the babies moving in a cave like setup in the tank......i separated as many as i could (kept the parents with the babies) but i could end up saving only 150 😥......many had been eaten by the blood parrots unfortunately
Mine kept breeding in my big tank where other fish live too but the babies wouldn’t really survive so I decided to move the breeding pair to their own tank so they can actually raise them successfully and also because they kept harassing all the other fish due to them protecting their babies lol 😆
I'm breeding Polar parrots in a 10g and platinum parrots in another 10g and I have one 10g with a platinum male and polar female and I am gonna see what those babies look like. I am running out of space for all these babies!!!!!!!!!!
Haha yeah I was surprised how many babies they have. Especially because my female is still pretty small. Let me know what the platinum/polar mix look like once they breed.
The caves I made myself from Seiryu Stone. I bought a few packs of it from Chewy. I just arrange them into caves myself. For any wood I've usually bought it from Buce Plant or at a fish store.
Bro..i have a breeding pair..had my first batch around 100+ was so excited to see them in the morning but when i had check,nothing..? What you think could have happened
My polar's had around 80 babies and still around 50 growing well 3 weeks in, mum and dad still in there looking after them with no other fish for threat, is there an age that the mum and dad will try and eat them or should i just put the mum and dad in my bigger tank and bring the babies up myself?
Eh bro I bought a large polar parrot 2 days ago and from the moment I purchased till now it's been having trouble swimming upright. Please tell me what I should do to help it. Its a big fish. Maybe 4 inches long.
@@TheAquaticCoder I ended up with the five polars, four 3.5 in angelfish, and a 5 in longfin pleco. I am thinking about adding 6 congo tetras, and that will complete this tank. Would this be too many fish in a 75g?
I will be. But not yet as most of these got eaten unfortunately. I have a grow out tank now but the current batch is too small to sell. I would guess around the new year I can start selling some. I'll definitely make a video on it when I do.
I put in some Repashy gel food when they were young and frozen brine shrimp sometimes too. Besides that just what ever scrapes from the other fish that are available
Yeah most likely. I found that during the first week none of the babies got eaten. But after that most of them quickly did. I don't know for sure if my red parrots ate any or if it was all my loaches.
I love my Polar Blue Cichlids. Such fun fish with great personality
My pair jad about 60-80 babies last week, currently in a 80 gallon tank with a few severum and a parrot fish , im hoping some will survive.
Hi is that a filter inside the tank?
I have a filter that has trouble cleaning my 10 g tank. I currently have two white polar parrot.

@@TheAquaticCoder Thank you. I can say that it worked since they grew a bit, now I am feeding them with food for fish babies 🙌🐟
My polar parrots babies just hatched today and there are over 200-300 babies 😱....hope most of them survive

The same thing happened with ours. They started out with 30+ fry, but only 4-6 survived. I have other adult parrots in there too.
Ah bummer but also maybe a good thing so you don't become over run by babies. How large are yours now?

I would be very interested in a few platinum parrots if you are sailing any ?

@@TheAquaticCoder They made babies, I am excited to see what they look like in a month or two...
What did they end up looking like
@@TerryWelch-ch8kl Just a very light blue with the black stripes. So just a pale Polar parrot.
Where do you order your caves & decorations from?

My parent parrots started eating the babies. I took the parents out. Babies are 3 weeks old. Will they survive?
What can i feed my baby polar parrots so that i don't loose any of them

Did you see the 100+ hatched or were they still eggs? Do you have other fish in the tank besides the breeding pair?
I have a question would a polar parrot cichlid be fine with a blood parrot cichlid just the two of them?
Great video

If I was in your situation I would try salt. A tablespoon per 5 gallons and see if they start to improve
@@TheAquaticCoder Thanks for replying. Thankfully it actually started looking a lot better this morning.
How many would you put in a 75 gallon. I just got five yesterday, and was thinking about getting 3 more. It's going to be a single species tank.
I think 8-10 is a good number. I would make the max around 15.

I’d say you have enough. They will breed quick, as long as two pair up. Good luck enjoy 🤙🏽
