- BAD NEIGHBORS or GOVERNMENT? Both are DESTROYING her Overgrown Yard!
She has called the local Government several times and they will not return calls. The Trees are growing over into her yard, they are damaging her fences and it’s her problem. Several neighbors tried to intervene, but, the local Government won’t do anything about it. On top of this, the neighbors yard is destroying her property as well!

Why would the Government not take care of their property?

What kind of neighbors are they when they don’t even watch out for each other?
What does the Government have to do with taking care of property? Government needs to stay off people's property. All they do is over charge and take from the people.
So i didn't catch why she couldn't clean up her own yard? Then complained about both neighbors on each side of her. Maybe she should have recommended you doing the elderly guy's yard who's wife had recently passed. But she made sure she had hers done first then says, yeah, he could probably use his yard being done too. Unbelievable.

I think the bigger concern was the folks to the other side and the city who won't clean up their stuff

It's the occupants responsibility to maintain their side of the fence, not the city.
that's what I was thinking but I was wondering if I misunderstood. She said all the neighbors complained and tried to get something done, to no avail. What am I missing? This lady had a lot of mess and stuff in her back yard. I don't understand her at all.
@@annettevertalino9273 I was thinking that too. She needs to take care of her own property and quit complaining about the neighbors until then.
But it is the city that is responsible for enforcement of its laws including building codes and any ordinances requiring that real estate/real property be maintained at a certain level (such as lawn no taller than 4 inches, keeping gutters in the street clear of debris so water can flow to sewer vents, etc.)
Why do these people always think it’s the city responsibility? I’m confused ..

People should not look to the government to get their yard work done...you will be waiting a long time if you do!
You are teaching Landon & others who watch how we all should be helping others! I watched my parents help others & so did my husband! We together have always helped others & proud to say our children & grandchildren have done the same! That’s how they learn! I know nowadays it’s getting less & less!

Another great job Eric. Sorry if vented at another comment, but sometimes folk are so insensitive or ignorant of what disabilty or MH can do. Few that moan I will wager won't even ask neighbours if they're ok. What you do is immense.

She has no right to complain about anyone her yard wasn't any better because of their own neglect. The neighbors on the one side aren't the cause of how her yard looks on all sides. I hope she is reading this because her yard was just as neglected. Her fence is old and rotten and she complained about them going to her fenceThat's not on the neighbors

Great transformation on this one. It’s warm there in MI 😜 now? I was surprised when the owner criticized her neighbors of not caring for their lawns. But you showed what a weed-wacker and mower can do to clean up this property.

The original problem may have started with overgrowth from the neighbor; but that’s no excuse for not doing your upkeep on your side of the fence.
Agree, sad though the city and local government can't clean up their stuff
She likes to moan but looks perfectly well able to maintain her property, 30 minutes a day would have a lot done in a week.
It's so hard that so many people can't do or afford to keep up yard work.
Slowly I've been taking down bushes, trees, rose bushes etc.... as we get older it's just harder to do the work.
You and your sons are fantastic. Appreciate the help you give to these people.
I use to help out my next door neighbor when her husband died. Now she's passed. Her grandson lives there now.
Hoping I can continue the next 20 or 30 years to do outdoor work but as we get older parts of our bodies hurt. We can't lift as much or hang onto tools like hedges and chainsaws.
The battery tools are helping lighten the load. Thank goodness they are making smaller tools for women. 😂❤❤❤❤❤❤

Goid job! Each " neighbor" needs to take care of their own mess if able. Some need help( like elder neighbor by her). City isn't obligated to do anything but take care of city street trees etc. & Issue fines for overgrown property if which she could have been issued just as quick as neighbors. Hello Eric, about your past videos of those people trespassing on the back part of your property, are they still giving you trouble? Did you find out if that cabin was on your property to actually be yours? I never saw a video of that results. So glad your helping out people in need of yard help! Thank you for that!

I remember when neighbors got along and kept their yards clean. We pitched in when our neighbors needed it.
So crazy people don't do that any longer
We still do that in our neighborhood! We water gardens and mow lawns here when ever any of us are unable to or away on vacation. We also still make meals for those who are ill or recuperating from surgeries
I like the fact he has his son working next to him. I am 70 and in the last 2 years my health has declined noticeably. This year i found a family (mom +5 kids) who are doing landscape work so the kids have funds for things they want. They have done an excellent job and for the first time in 10 years i don't have to worry about the city and their weed notices.

Great job to you and your son. Glad you are using the new edging method to help save your back. To complaining property owners, use the time that you are complaining to work on your own yard & house. A little each day for yard and house to help keep them maintained. Sometimes a neighbor might desperately need your help. Let this be the year of positive change.

This is another really nice clean up and transformation Erik . It is really frustrating when you try to keep your yard up and neat and you have neighbors that could care less what their yard looks like ,and then you have the township or city officials that don,t look after their part of the area and the government don,t even get me started on those no account individuals. You and Landon have done an excellent job here as always .Thank you for being you and sharing your videos I love them.
I'm just surprised the city didn't trim there trees instead they ruining everyone else's fences etc
I'm fortunate enough to live on a street where everyone cares about their yard.
Eric, love the channel! To get trees out of chain-link fences I use a reciprocating saw with a pruning blade. You can literally cut around the chain link and get the trees out without damaging the fence. I have even cut out limbs that have grown around the links!

Who are the homeowners/neighbors calling with their complaints? No. 1 - Call your Alderperson or City Council member for your district and make your complaint to him/her. No. 2 - Put it in writing to your Alderperson or City Council member, and ask neighbors if they are willing to sign the letter with you - and remind the elected official that you and your neighbors DO vote! Keep a copy of your letter. No. 3 - see if there are any attorneys in your area who offer a free one-half hour consultation or a Legal Aid Society in your area that you can go to for low or no cost and find out whether you and neighbors can file a suit in Small Claims Court against the offending owner of the derelict property seeking financial reimbursement for repairs to damaged fence, paying for tree removal, etc. If you can get a judgment against the offending do-nothing owner, get it filed properly with the Clerk of Circuit Court or Register of Deeds and it becomes a LIEN against the defendant's property that would have to be paid off before he/she/it could sell the property in the future. Most states allow a judgment to remain a lien for 10 years, but check what your state law is regarding steps to get a Court judgment registered as a lien and for how long it lasts, and whether you can renew at the end of the period so the lien does not expire.
Instead of naging about the neighbours,she could have done that herself. Isn't it her responsibility to clear up anything growing into her yard. Made for a great video Eric. But damn, some people are so lazy

I'm not sure what's worse to look at--the green overgrowth or that ugly rusted fence.
It looks like it would have made more sense to clean up the one next door. Rather than complaining to the city it would make more sense to keep it from coming into there yard by keeping it cut back. That on her fence has been growing there for awhile.

And if the owner is disabled or has MH issues how exactly can they do that? Most councils are responsible for curb and nature strip maintenance. It's why you pay taxes to them. Easy to moan when you're able-bodied with no actual empathy to those that aren't.

Where I live we have these tiny rocks half the size of peppercorns and if I used a weed whacker wearing shorts I'd look like my shins got sandblasted at the end of the job then there's the ice plant if you hit that it turns you into a green slim monster

Срубить большое дерево дорого стоит. И если на частной земле - это проблема собственника. Если дерево на муниципальной земле, то решает городской комитет по экологии, можно ли в черте города срубать дерево. Если дерево молодое и нет риска обрушения, то разрешат только обрезку веток. Это в России.
