We partnered up with Fluidfreeride to try out their Cityrider electric scooter. Simas has been looking for an e-scooter for the longest and we are so glad to have found something that we were looking for! It helps with commuting in a large city like New York as well as riding it around in the suburbs like those found in New Jersey. New York City is an amazing city to visit. Getting around in a subway train is not the best as you can miss out all the beautiful sights the city has to offer. Riding the scooter will allow you to enjoy everything the city has to offer at your own pace. The scooter is relatively fast and it's perfect for any beginner.
We went to Central Park, Upper East Side, 5th Avenue in Midtown, Rockefeller Center and Times Square to try out the e-scooter. It was so much fun to explore our own New York City vía the scooter.
The scooter can be ridden by anyone that meets the requirements for height and weight. It doesn’t matter where you are from, how old you are or what you look like. It’s so easy to ride for everyone!

New Yorkers should be able to ride on the sidewalks in the outer boroughs where foot traffic is light. Riding in the street is very dangerous, even in the bike lanes.

Those definitely a get invention to navigate NYC. I had my eye on that scooter but my only gripe about it is the range! End up getting the Ninebot Max.

Wow! I had no idea it had turn signals! That’s cool. I like that it has the skateboard deck and feels like a skateboard. Still lightweight and pretty much does the same speed other brands do. Also like it has the puncture resistant wheels, however this one seems to have a better looking smoother ride compared to others I’ve checked and looked at online.
I’m looking just for a point a to point b scooter (electric) to get me from one class to the other but they are located in diff bldg’s on campus and I’m not the fastest walker. Taking my car would get me there late too, but having a portable scooter w/ me that isn’t too too heavy would sure help me. Maybe i would get there on time lol.
I didn’t start off looking at this one. Honestly i was very intrigued by the Unagi one but user reviews are very mixed on that one and the suspension sucks apparently.
Then started looking at hiboy s2 pro/max3. Not gonna do max3. Hiboy s2 pro is meh to me right now compared to others i am looking at.
Turboant x7 pro i like but it’s a lil more weight then I’d like to lug as i am going to have to carry it up 2 flights of stairs to my class w/ most likely my laptop bag too. (No elevator in the bldg unfortunately).
Then i started checking out this one - fluid ride cityrider and this one costs $100 more then the ant but it seems like it’s pretty sturdy and it’s def lightweight compared to the ant. I wish it had a turn signal cutoff switch or kill switch like how motorcycles do. That would be cool. It’s nice it has 2 diff modes. I am def gonna research this one a bit more. Thx for your review.

I was looking into Horizon but seems the handle bar screw keeps getting loose how about this cityryde?

A little concern with the locking mechanism after unfolding?
It's holding up great, I have no complaints about it. The handle bar can be taken off but you have to put a little strength on it to get it unscrewed.
The locking mechanism is a bit weird because there isn't exactly a place for it unless you tape it down. But I keep mine in a riding position (unfolded) so there's no issue there either. Only when it's folded you have to be mindful.

These types of scooters look nice but will hurt your legs and back due to the lack of suspension. Nyc streets are full of potholes everywhere you go. Unless you’re tying to only ride on smooth bike paths, it’s better you upgrade to something with suspension.
I won’t use it on the streets in Trinidad 🇹🇹. Some ah dem stray pot hounds go bark at you, run you down and may even bite you.

Why a scooter and not a bicycle or motor bike?
Because the scooter folds up and is easy to store. Can't really do that with a motorcycle or a bicycle
