Thanks for the feature! The price is US$368. $553 should be AUD.

I'm so terribly sorry. I assumed it was USD but this changes everything now.

I don't like field watches without a proper domed crystal, and I really don't like crowns that are not at 3 o'clock- mixing traditional and modern rarely works... but this grey model looks like one of those rare occurrences where they actually got it right! It looks both beautiful and unique, dressy and practical- think I'm gonna get me one! Thanks for review.

That's not where I thought this comment was going lol But yeah I get you. It's so versatile.

4 o'clock crown wasn't a design decision, but a technical one. Otherwise the subsecond dial wouldn't be at 6 o'clock.

@@void1984 o damn. I did not know this. Appreciate that mate. Nice fun fact.

@@void1984 Sorry, don't understand- particularly since many of the original Dirty Dozen went down to 32mm case size and still had crown at 3 o'clock...

@@stanb.5261 They didn't use Miota. These old original movements are no longer in production.

You know I love my field watches and my D12s, and this one looks amazing!
I would totally have preferred the crown to be at the 3 o'clock position (same gripe I have with the 1918 which I love) and the logo painted white. It almost looks like a sterile dial and I'm not a big fan of that.
Other than that, I love that it's 37mm, and having hands-on experience with these Vario straps I KNOW it is an absolutely amazing strap.
Great review CJ, keep it up!

O yeah. We both love our field watches and I'm glad you loving yours man. I love the 4oclock crowns and the sterile minimal logo. Makes it more toolish in my opinion but I could definitely see your view for sure.

Lovely watch. I have a 39mm D12. Love it. Although not 36 like the originals, I agree, with your sweet spot assessment and how it wears, on my wrist, at least.

Yeah it must be difficult for brands to try make something period correct while also making sure it sells to whatever sizing is currently trending.

Awesome review CJ! Huge respect for your video work and editing, especially considering you shot this on a Samsung! I'm not the biggest field watch fan but Vario really knows how to make a beautiful field watch! I think the Rolex Explorer 1 is the best field watch of all times. It is tough, but elegant at the same time. Keep up the good work mate, and I can't wait to see your next video!

Thanks alot man. Yeah the Samsung hasn't blown up yet 😂. The Explorer 1 is my fav Rolex and maybe some day I'll be able to review that. Vario really nailed the Dirty Dozen look for sure with this one.

Is the rotor noisy every time you move your wrist?
