You have a great presentation style ! You define your terms and created a pairing of 2 cars that I wouldn’t have considered. I thought this was real world use review instead of run through of features that I can get from the website . Thank god you didn’t talk about taking a car no matter how great to a track ! Please keep doing these reviews
I can't believe the comments thus far. You only like the Mercedes because of the "perception" of more luxury, but the Porsche interior ergonomics are way better designed. You buy the Mercedes because of how you want people to see you, and you buy the Porsche because the driving dynamics matter more to you than what people actually think about you.
Apple and oranges. Panamera Turbo S is a monster and is hands down a better product giving up a little comfort. I’ve owned both and feel that Porsche is by far a better overall car manufacturer.
I did test driving both, and I just booked Panamera. Reasons - Panamera felt more powerful and sporty and delivered better driving experience. Secondly once you sit inside both , Mercedes feels like cheaper quality.
Hahaha - That is what I thought too when I heard him say "Executive Luxury Sedan" - just my opinion, but the Panamera should be compared to the likes of the AMG GT 4-Door and NOT the S-Class. I am sorry but nothing Porsche puts out should be compared to the S-Class, despite my love for Porsche and love, yet disappointment the direction Mercedes is going. Executive luxury cars that can compete with the S-Class are the 7-Series, A8, G90, dare I say a Flying Spur and Phantom (I will understand, Lol).....cars that are not essentially "Driver Cars" but more "Chauffeured-around" kinda thing. I understand this comparison though. But if I am in the market for a "Executive Luxury Sedan" I will definitely not consider the Porsche Panamera not matter the options it has. Though, if I am in the market for Luxury Sports Sedan, then I will, as well as the AMG GT 4-Door or even a CTS 5 Blackwing...etc. But eh, just my thoughts....
I think this is comparing one Executive Luxury Sedan with a Luxury Sports Sedan. Doubt the experience owning these two cars will be the same. One is more "I love driving" while the other is more "I have a chauffeur for that" - IMO though. 😊
Mercedes: "Take your eyes off the road to look at the screen to navigate and control the AC. We strive to ensure your luxury ride becomes a faster death trap."
Very good comparison. I love Mercedes and Porsche. I had an S Class before and I think I would go with the Porsche next time. I don’t like the direction Mercedes is going and how their quality standards went down.
I’m a huge Porsche fan, I own multiple 911’s. The only way I’d pick a Panamera over an S Class is if they gave me a GT3 allocation without markup with it.
At age 47, Panamera s or GT63s 4 door for me. Every other person in my area driving a S580 is over 60 and tbh, driving this car makes me feel old. I was looking forward to the s class coupe but it was cancelled.
Mercedes for me. If you're not going for the full sportyness of the 911, unless the Panamera is your only car, and it's unlikely that it is, go with the Mercedes.
The only V8 Panameras are the GTS and the Turbo. Neither of which would compete with the S580. Maybe the S63 but i didn't have access to one of those. Thanks
Honestly, if you’re not going to get the 911nor even a Taycan , Porsches are seriously over priced and over rated. You might as well go for a real luxuries car.
The Taycan is the worst Porsche to buy a EV. The Panamera sits on the MSB platform the same as a Bentley GT so how can you say a real luxury car. Your credentials just went out the window. Lol clueless.
Which would you pick, the Mercedes or Porsche?

Well said💪
I don't think anyone who sees someone in a Panamera will think any lessor of someone in the Benz... in fact, quite the opposite.
@tlf361 Porsche badge goes further these days for the brand watchers
Which I don't think that's even true anymore. Porsche is def a higher standard then mercedes.
Yup

Thanks for the insight!

Congrats...enjoy
You're comparing Apples and Oranges.. Porche is a luxurious sports car and the S Class is a Touring Luxurious Car...
Good point.

Nicely said. Thank you
I appreciate the two different vehicle comparison... 16:46 is really what do you want. The Porshe gets much more expensive as you option up.
It's funny no one has mentioned the price. And yes Porsche options can run up the bill

How did you like your S class?

😆
Mercedes Benz always the best
The best or nothing
Welcome very much
💪
It’s obviously not an adequate comparison without the v8 engine of the Porsche..
True but in order to get a v8 in the panamera you need the gts or turbo. Then I have to find an s63.
Porsche looks 10x more modern and better from the front too the rear.
Agree
Do a video on Bentley Flying Spur if you can. Thank you
💪

I see the same thing in the los angeles area
Why not a s63?
Mercedes for me. If you're not going for the full sportyness of the 911, unless the Panamera is your only car, and it's unlikely that it is, go with the Mercedes.
I see the Panamera as a AMG GT4dr rival more than a S class.
Good point
This Porsche v6 should be compared to a Mercedes v6 probably the s500.
Probably right
Porsche always!
💪
I had 2016 s63 and 20 turbo s ehybrid. At the end of the day, both were great cars but I wouldn’t buy the latest versions of either one.
I really really like the prior generation s63.
It looked better than the current gen.
The Porsche is hands down a more luxurious car, once you sit inside one of these it's easy to feel how the S class feels... cheaper than the Panamera
Interesting
Sorry you should have used a MB S500 for your test.
This comparison is uneven. A V-6 against a V-8 with ~500 hp. DUMB.
The only V8 Panameras are the GTS and the Turbo. Neither of which would compete with the S580. Maybe the S63 but i didn't have access to one of those. Thanks
Wow under three minutes
Is that what she said
You want have personal driver in the Porsche like you could in a Benz
Be driven in the Benz. Drive the Porsche yourself
Two different cars -- not a legit comparison. [also, you can "shift" drive mode in the MB while driving, also]
Porsche is the winner.
Mercedes Benz S Class:the best or nothing ❤
💪💪💪
I hate screens in MB. Ruined luxury.
Looks funny
Stop adding that stupid music background
S 580 is best.
It's now or never!
💪💪💪

Overpriced yes overrated definitely not .
