I saw this in the comments here last year and it disappeared. It's not exact, and it's not mine, but it's the best I could do from memory and its HILARIOUS!
I think the original comment went more like this:

Second sound remembers me Castlevania nes, and moonlight Batman nes.
2:27 was used in lemmings... a bit less nuanced than here but yeah :D
Nonetheless, that was still quite spot-on!
Makes me want to make a video game including all of this. Do you think we could get a full version of each one?

Actually, keygen music is based on a nowadays rather obscure format, called tracker music, which originated from the demoscene subculture of Amiga systems in the 80s, but lived on to the IBM PC and derivates. What you here show us is a subset known as chiptune music, which is mostly inspired by, but not limited to, 80s classic video game music technology.
P.S. Brazil here too! :)
More modern chiptunes are also edited in tracker-type programs, so there’s actually nearly no difference except the lack of PCM samples.
Additionally, many keygen players used tracker music, but with very simple waveform samples to save space, making them sound like chiptunes (intentionally)

I'm not sure why this showed up in my recommended, but i'm glad it did. That moonlight sonata was awesome. I wouldn't mind hearing the whole thing.

Because it doesn't work. These pieces are rather simplistic, if you take the original synth arrangment away from them, then there's not much left to listen to.

That would definitely be excellent! Maybe some old school NES hits, ones that haven't been done extensively though(sorry Mario and Zelda). Maybe some Kirby, some Metal Gear, Castlevania, Megaman, maybe some Double Dragon, some Steeet Fightee, or is that still the same class?

The characteristic style of the early keygen music was caused by the hardware limitations. The music synthesizer chips (like AdLib) at that time could output only a limited set of waveforms, mostly square and saw-toothed waves. And the number of available tracks was limited.

Listening to these makes me think of all the 8bit music from games that I grew up playing and so many similarities and undertones that may have been used in their creation that were from these great classics! It's pretty awesome!

@Freaky Ears, most people stink, it's part of being a mammal. Just gotta do what you can do. If I ever get a new piano, I might try Vinheteiro's piano course. But I imagine it comes down to practice, which is hard. Because ADD, pr0n, games, lack of sticktoitiveness.
