I actually used this location last year when visiting the Fully Charged Show. I pulled into the slot the Volvo is parked in, in your picture, as it was the only free slot, or so i thought. It turned out the ID3 that was parked next to the charging bays was plugged into the charger. However, it was a sunny day and the ID3 driver had his window down, so I went and had a chat with him. And after about 5 minute he finished and I was able to charge.
Oh wow, thank you for pointing this out as I have been looking at this very Tesla Supercharger coming from the midlands. Can I just ask what mobile provider you are with as they may have a weak signal in the area?
I'm with Vodafone currently, I'd read on Zapmap that some people (unspecified networks) had also had trouble at this site. I did meet another Kia driver after filming who'd been successful with their charging, but they didn't say which network provider they were with.
If you don't fancy the cheaper Tesla chargers (Hint for niro drivers, park at wrong side of charger next to the power supply). Sainsbury's has a bank of 150kW Kempower chargers at the entry to the showground. CCS & Chademo. Think they are 75p kW
Tesla Superchargers prior to V4 don't work with non-Tesla cars except via the Tesla App. The V3 and earlier Superchargers don't have any kind of user interface or card reader equipment. Literally, the only interaction with the physical charging stall is the plug / cable. Kia's charge card works with a variety of providers (but not all, and certainly not Tesla prior to V4).
