❤️that the piano is bringing so much joy to the Chateau. I know you can not have a fire in the fireplace but I had the vision of a lovely warm fire going with the piano playing and the room full of people soaking up the heat and joy from the music. If a building had a heart it would be so happy with all the love the piano and the people have given to it. I bet the old owner is really happy that his piano is really being enjoyed and loved by many people not just in the Chateau but around the world too. I know the kitchen pipe is not good news but on the bright side it will make great content! 😁👍. Finally, it is always just so heartwarming to see all the young people’s smiles and they laughing playing and having a great time. We all must remember, and I sure do, that this is all because of Rob and Lesley taking huge personal risk to make all this happen. Truly two very kind humans. ❤️😁
They were playing "We'll Meet Again" by Vera Lynn, one of the top 5 songs of World War II and the 80th Anniversary of the liberation of Paris was at the end of August, so that would be my guess as to the ceremony you encountered.
What a wonderful video! Seeing all those Christian young people working and playing together is a joy to watch. You're doing a wonderful ministry! God Bless you!
One of the characters in uniform during the cathedral ceremony was carrying a flag for Guilde St. Catherine. I found this that looks likely: St. Catherine's Guild is proud to have been in existence at St. Michael's Church since 1890. For 128 years, the Guild Mission - "to assist the Rector as need be, and for the advancement of the Parish financially and to promote the principles of the Church ...

Great idea to have the students participating in maintenance. I think it should give them a little more skin in the game - not just a "hotel" experience.
Bayeux was the 2nd place we stayed in our first trip to Europe with our sins back in 2019, went to Mont Saint Michel first and then stayed there for a D-Day tour. That cathedral is amazing. If you ever have anyone that loves history, next time you are there they have to see the Bayeux tapestry. We had no idea what it was at the time but now having an obsession with England history I am so glad we saw it! I knew you would having the piano. The same thing happens in our house sometimes when my oldest has his friends over.
Wow, when the students were singing in the church, literally felt goosebumps! Just beautiful. So great what you do.... sharing your Chateau with the students! What an extraordinary life experience for them, something they will remember for a lifetime. Sending you all love from Alberta Canada ❤
I’m from northern Iowa. Born and raised. I moved to Tennessee 16 years ago!!! Gooo Hawks!! You can tell the kids just love that piano!! Yes the kids are having a great time just being there at the chateau!! Takes me back when I was young. Lots of love from Tennessee ❤❤❤❤
You have one of the most beautiful chateaux I've ever seen, but it can be such a headache to maintain. That leak, the piping and 😮😮😮😮😢, but it is so beautiful 😍 ❤❤
Wonderful video. Actual chills over what a blessing the piano and all the instruments have been. Also, the voices raised in the cathedral. Belle! Blessings to all. ❤
What another great group of students..love that there is so many musicians, electricians ,gardeners, and cooks..this makes it even more interesting..everyone seems to be loving their French experience and the beauty of the happy Chateau to the max..you and Leslie are a great success once again!
On a different blog, they showed a celebration with mini parade similar to the one you made a video of as celebration for a saint of the church in the town. Hi Grace from another Iowan😊
You asked about the event in the church at the beginning of the video: My hunch is that it was a celebration associated with a guild. (I think I saw the word „guilde“ on one of the banners they were carrying.) Historically, guilds were associated with specific churches and often were responsible for the organisation of certain festivals, sometimes associated with a particular patron saint. Those festivities included parades or processions, sometimes even theatre and drama. Maybe this was a guild celebrating in there?
If you put a bucket under each of those running taps, you could use that water to flush a toilet or water the garden. Writing from Australia where we have droughts and a shortage of water in general.
Love, love, love seeing all the youthful energy! Takes me back to college days at Central College in Iowa . . . Only attended 1 year before starting nursing school. Years later, taught clinical nursing students for a couple years and LOVED the vibe young people bring. . . . they are so eager and full of life . . . Challenged me always to seek new experiences for them to grow. . . . .seeing that growth and boost of confidence is soOOo rewarding. The impact you and Lesley are making in these students lives is a joy to watch. Thanks for all you do AND for sharing it for old ladies like me . . . Stirs up lots of fond memories. Bless you!
Love hearing the piano being played, the young man at the start was truly wonderful. I think fixing up the tennis courts would be great when you can afford it as there are so many uses as there looks to be 2 courts
Great video, love to see the talent of all the students! Enjoyed the music very much. A good bunch of young adults. Good to see young people doing good in this world.❤❤
I'd suggest you try to label your water shut offs or make a list of where they are, incase someone who doesn't know your water pipe layout has to do it.
Hello Rob and Leslie. I discovered your channel a few weeks ago and have been binge watching ever since. I absolutely love what you are doing. I figured now that I am caught up, now was a good time to comment for the first time. You have my prayers, and may God bless you both. ❤
My tennis prof said its better to have a concrete tennis court than a clay one, since the clay one is a lot of maintenance (you basically have to care for it weekly) Maybe a good idea to self pour a concrete one with self leveling concrete. That way it can be a tennis court, basketball court, ...
On the weeds cropping up in the gravel I have seen a video recently to spread baking soda and it will kill the weeds. In states they sell fifty pound sacks at farm supply stores don’t know what they have in France
Great video 👍 The season gets of to a musical start, make sure to ask the students who use petrol strimmers etc if they get any numbness in finger's if so don't carry on using the equipment as some people are more likely than others to get "White finger" .
LOL: "You Can Take The Person Out Of The Place, But You Can't Take The Place Out Of The Person"! Still talking about a YARD instead of the PARK of your chateau 😂
@@angelafraser1603 we are both correct:WEBSTER dictionary: "park: : 1. a tract of land that often includes lawns, woodland, and pasture attached to a country house and is used as a game preserve and for recreation. 2. a. : a piece of ground in or near a city or town kept for ornament and recreation" 🤓
I realy enjoy all your videos. Lucky students who can enjoy your great teachings. Great loving couple you are. God bless you all.
I loved hearing the students singing and playing the piano. I also like seeing the students giving back to the chateau through work.

Great to see the students enjoying themselves and it is so lovely to hear the piano being played ❤
Amazing experience for the students ❤

The piano has changed the Grand Salon into a cosy, lived in, much loved gathering area. A true family room.😊😊😊
The piano was such a great addition! ❤
Love the piano, the sound warms up the whole chateau!

In response to your question about the church pomp and circumstance. I believe this was a Catholic Church and they were the Knights of Columbus.
Y'all don't have any spare time, but it would be lovely to have a coffee table book with Leslie's interiors... Or leslie's amazing looking food.
Oh - and I meant to say -
The kids singing in the church brought a tear to my eye, it was so beautiful! ❤

The Doxology was lovely!
That's how a chateau/home should be full of love and laughter and 🎶

A perfect, beautiful place for young people to learn and have fun, not forgetting the wonderful and generous hosts❤❤

The piano has been a positive addition to the chateau.

European Heritage days perhaps if it was Sept 21 or 22. Lots of places open to public not normally open.

Always love your videos and especially the music and singing.
This video just warms my heart...God bless you ...

Hope you and Leslie can have a good rest this winter (and maybe have heat!) It's been a busy year for you two!

So nice to have all those musicians.
I love these videos and the piano is paying h for itself in entertainment.
Perhaps label those various shut off pipes so you can find them easily in the future. Keep up the good work. ❤️ ❤️

Yay to the piano!!!!
Thanks for sharing
Sincerely in San Diego California
Good luck with the plumbing problem. It's said there are no problems, only solutions.
Good News!
On the weeds cropping up in the gravel I have seen a video recently to spread baking soda and it will kill the weeds. In states they sell fifty pound sacks at farm supply stores don’t know what they have in France
I saw this as well and recommended it a few weeks ago for the stone are around the chateau

And Mt. Saint Michel!!!
I so hope the man who sold you the piano sees this video.

❤ it IS a yard 😅. 🥰 A park is for the public (at least it is in SK☺️)
