I am brand new and just bought this same tumbler, do you have a rock book you would recommend on rock tumbling as well as one for learning how to tell what the rocks are?
Hello! Thank you for your comment! I do not use any books for learning the tumbling process, I do however watch others videos right here on RUclips. I am providing a link below for Shannon’s tumbling playlist from her channel. Tumbling playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLQF5VvgJv9WgZTVXKWJI_wjRuVEwfhRbe&si=LKTBxVXFufl7ZLoV Shannon’s channel: youtube.com/@ReikiGemWellness?si=Gp85ONkppRWPELMA I also use google sometimes for identifying stones but that often does not pan out. The Book of Stones: Who They Are and What They Teach a.co/d/hhfXi21 This is a good book for you to check out. And I would look up stones in your area online just to see what is around if you are picking up stones around your home or any place. I live in Michigan so I’ve looked up what stones are in my area in the Great Lakes region online. That will help you a lot. I also buy stones from sellers and then I know exactly what I have when I purchase them. I will provide a link for gems by mail. gemsbymail.com/ I hope this helps! And good luck tumbling!! 💎💎
I believe any rock tumbler you buy should have directions as to how to put the pieces together such as the lid and the band rings and how to do maintenance and when. Do you have this same rock tumbler? If so I give a few tips in the video on how to get it going and keep the barrel from skipping on the rollers and how to open/close the lid properly.
I have had a Leegol electric tumbler that I have been using for over a year. It is a double barrel and it has been wonderful! I wonder if issues come along from the type of oil used. I use only cleanzoil brand, an oil specifically for hand guns and weapons. I previously used a few other oils but with them I got a lot of jumping and hangouts from the barrels. Once I started using gun oil all has changed. Hopefully you still have your leegol tumbler and you can get gun oil to try it!!
