Normally steam my lobster tails, but tried this recipe today. Best lobster tails I have ever had, including in fancy restaurants. This will be my new go-to recipe, and it's not significantly harder than steaming them.
This comment made my day! Yes, I will admit pulling the meat out of the tail is not exactly very straightforward, but it's definitely worth doing and is easier with some practice. Thanks for watching and for the really kind comments!
Those shears are so old, I couldn't find that brand online anymore. They are 'Gadget' kitchen shears, but I don't believe they are anything special or cost that much. I think even a basic but reputable brand like OXO or Cuisinart would fit your needs.
Excellent question. There are woodchips inside the foil pouch. When heated up on the grill, the wood chips will smoke and the flavors from that will infuse into the food. I have a video on why this method is used here: ruclips.net/video/pfm6x6gK8fk/видео.html
Glad you found my channel and so I've found yours. I really liked the content, it's exactly my taste. Subscribed and see you around, keep up the good work 👍
Wow those are big blocks of butter! Here in the USA we usually get butter in packages of 4 sticks, where each stick is just over 100 grams. So for this recipe, that would be approx 50 grams of butter.
I've not done so with this method, and I don't think I would recommend it. If you flip the lobster over, all that butter and oil will cause a flare up and you'd have a hard time controlling the heat coming up onto the meat. There's another method that is arguably easier that I may share when it gets warmer - it's where you cut the tail lengthwise in half and direct grill about 5 min per side (meat side down first), then flip and baste. Thanks for watching!
This is the meat thermometer that I use: amzn.to/3j1I3PQ Great price, and has held up for over a year now. Solid product, and most importantly accurate (readings when compared to an Inkbird thermometer are approximately the same)
Hi Diwa, thanks for watching! Inside the foil are pecan wood chips to help get some smoky flavor into the lobster. If you're interested in how to make that, as it does appear in several of my videos, check out this video about how to make your own foil pouch smoker. ruclips.net/video/pfm6x6gK8fk/видео.html
@@ChicagoGriller thank you so much for your reply - just checked for the smoke box from weber, and looks like it sold here in Germany. Just ordered one on Amazon
Hey Diane! Thanks for watching. You're right, you could also brush the butter under the meat as well (carefully!). Definitely did end up using any of that leftover butter sauce for the corn. Delicious!
I disagree with Huey, this is 14 out of 10! Did he end up getting the one that fell haha? Jerry, for someone who only butterflies Lobster tails a couple of times a year you did extremely well. There's no chance I could do that!!! Gorgeous lobster tails and that butter sauce looks delicious, love the corn on the side to!
Thanks! This method is a pain in the arse but totally worth it. Huey did get a couple of small pieces that broke off, but we weren't going to waste good lobster and still ate it anyways. Maybe it added flavor? Maybe not? Well, not a recommended part of the cooking process. Thanks for watching Patrick!
Well done. Also I like the Masters shirt! Have you been or did someone give you the shirt?? I've been 4 times and I would go every year if they would let me.......
Thanks as always Michael! I've been lucky to have gone too (and so many people asking me to buy merch for them haha)! Saw Spieth in 2015 and Tiger in 2019! Maybe one day we will run into each other there! :-)
@@ChicagoGriller Agreed. Tuesday is actually the best day to be there if you have a choice. Make the drive on Monday to your hotel then drive back after being there all day Tuesday then televised coverage begins Wednesday with the Par 3. Then the magic begins Thursday morning.......
Hope it turns out! I know this is not necessarily the easiest method… definitely not as easy as tossing some burgers straight on the grill. But it will be worth it when you nail it!
Hahaha, so true. That said, I have made this twice since I published this video. It indeed does get much easier in pulling out the meat from the tail. You get a better feel for how much force you can apply to the shell. Now I'm like a pro haha ;-)
Haha no kidding. I pointed out to my wife that lobster tail was $10 per 4 ounce tail at the local grocery store and was $13 at Whole Foods. I was like ok, no lobster for us for a while lol….
Yeah I hear that a bit on this channel as most of my cooks are on gas. Many people find it convenient and I hope these videos help those folks. Thanks for stopping by anyways!
Watch to the very end for the blooper :-)
Followed along and just grilled my first lobster tail along with a filet mignon and some broccolini. Turned out amazing! Thanks for the video!
I’m so glad it turned out well!

Used this recipe 10+ times….its perfect
I'm glad! This is our go-to lobster recipe as well. It comes out again every anniversary 🎉
Enjoyed your clear and concise presentation.Thank you.
I’m glad! Enjoy the lobster! 🦞
I follow your method the lobster tails just perfect. Many thx
Awesome, terrific to hear that! It's worth the effort to butterfly them this way.
Thank you . Prefect 😊
Can you please provide me with ur kicken shears you are using for this video, please?

Great! I must try this recipe👍
Thanks dude!I just cooked a couple tonight and it was great!
Glad you liked it!!
Love the method myself. Definitely do not over cook. Thanks

whats inside the aluminum foil and whats the purpose?

How many gms is half a stick of butter? We get butter in 500gm blocks only.

Funny blooper at the end! Can the lobster sauce also be used on the grilled corn?
5 second rule!
YUP any left over sauce is perfect for the corn!
Will try thanks
Hope it turns out nicely for you! This method is worth the effort!
Amazing
Thanks grill king
For sure, lobster is always a fantastic treat on the grill!
Would it be advisable to flip the lobster 🦞 for a nice sear in the meat side?
I've not done so with this method, and I don't think I would recommend it. I would have used a brush to put the butter on with both top and under the meat, and again 1/2 way thru.. using the same butter sauce for the corn 👍

What kind of dog is he? How big do they get? I’m only aloud a small size dog where I live
Dog is a Shiba Inu (basically a small Japanese husky is the way I like to describe them). They are usually between 20-25 lbs.
That is top notch lobster

I don’t know about you but steak is the perfect side for lobster 😂 screw all that corn stuff

The blooper! 🫣🤣 I did that once with a large, hot Christmas Prime Rib. Oops! Lol
