- Hey guys
One thing that bothered me about the truck is that the horn was pretty weak.
I decided to do something about it 😏
I went to a salvage yard and found a 2007 Cadillac DTS, which comes w/ two horns, a high tone and a low tone and it sounds much stronger 😀
I had to get something else from the salvage yard and decided to get another set of horns, so now I had two sets of horns for my truck, both from Cadillac DTS 😁
The holes where the horns are mounted were in the radiator support,
I did not drill any new holes.
Since I am now running 2 horns, I changed the fuse for the horn from 10amp to 20amp.

The horns have helped,
keeping me out of a couple of accidents, by "alerting" people when they were not paying attention and came into my lane.

I added some junkyard horns to my '01 4Runner. I added a horn relay at that time. Works great, like yours.

5:48 horns cones are purposely angled to keep their tones from canceling each other out.
Should've looked for an older Cadillac - they had 4 horns to begin with, and each played a different note. You've got two 360hz (F) and two 440hz (A) notes, instead of the old school 290hz (D), 360hz (F), 440hz (A) and 540hz (C) notes. Look up "Cadillac horn" and you'll see what I mean.

@@LincolnMaxnCo you're welcome friend. It's getting harder to find them, most of my local yards immediately scrap the 80's-90's Buicks and Cadillacs with those horns.
Check for:
1991-1996 Buick Roadmaster or Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham (the 4 horns are in the fenders; 2 on each side in the engine bay)
1991-1996 Buick Park Avenue (the 4 horns are in the fenders; 2 on each side in the engine bay)
1985-1993 Cadillac Deville (the 4 horns are in the fenders; 2 on each side in the engine bay)
1994-1999 Cadillac Deville (the 4 horns are all over; some hard to get to. The F note is next to the battery in the engine bay. The A and D notes are under the right headlight behind the bumper - hard to get to. The C note is under the left headlight behind the bumper, also hard to get to)
The 1997-2000 Buick Park Avenues sometimes have 3 note horns of a more modern variety (same you have now, but with the added Super Low D note) that work pretty well.
